Takata recall - still waiting on VW to replace the airbag in my vehicle. I have been told to just continue on driving and not to worry about it, that they will get to me when they get to me. It is now over a full year later and no solution.

VW is unable to replace the recall, and I am concerned with my safety while driving. I have been very patient with the recall, but we are going into a year now. I have put off making road trips in my car and this is beyond frustrating.

"takata recall" my vehicle's driver airbag inflator needs to be replaced as part of the recall. I contacted a Volkswagen dealership and they stated that they will not repair my vehicle until I receive the official letter from Volkswagen. They also stated that given the magnitude of this problem and how many vehicles need airbags replaced, they cannot tell me when I will be able to get my vehicle fixed. They indicated that they are fixing vehicles in high priority zones first. However, just last month got around to sending out letters to allow vehicles to be repaired even though this problem was identified a year ago. It should also be noted that the vehicle is presently registered in a low priority zone. The problem with this is that it was purchased in a high priority zone and was driven there for several years. I can not turn this car into a dealership for a dealer trade in as dealerships do not accept vehicles with recalls. I can sell it in the state of co independently, however, who would want to purchase a vehicle with a recall on it, that has no timeline available as to when it can be fixed. I feel extremely nervous with my 19 year old daughter driving around in a car that could potentially harm or worse kill her. I find it unacceptable that Volkswagen can not even provide us with a date in the future that they can fix the car. I can't even take it to a dealership for a trade in because dealerships won't take cars that have recalls that have not been fixed,

Takata recall in April 2016 I received notice from VW of the takata recall. It is now Feb 2017. I have heard nothing from anyone in 10 months about this issue. I called VW and they in effect said nothing is being done yet. They even said no manufacturer has done a repair. Your site says 10 million cars have been fixed already. Something is certainly wrong with this lack of progress by VW, especially for this dangerous airbag problem. NHTSA must pressure VW to get off their asses. There is at least ignorance, but more likely lying, at all levels of VW. After 10 months I believe my car should be repaired. Just because takata is Japanese and VW is german is not an acceptable excuse. Do your job!!

I haven't been able to drive the car for 1 year because the airbag is bad.(takata airbag recall) the airbag was recalled in 2/2016, and it's now 1 year later and I still have no fix for it. I refuse to put my kids in the car and I can't sell it until the recall is fixed. So I have a car that I'm still paying for and I can't drive it safely. I called VW and they couldn't offer any time frame for when it would be fixed. I need VW to buy this from me or something, because I'm losing money on a car that I can't drive and I can't sell.

Takata recall, I went to dealer and they said they do not have the parts yet, I even offered to pay for the parts and they did not wanted to do it. It is weird because one of their salesman told me that they have been replacing a lot of air bags for the cars they have for sale, I think they are getting safe to sale their stock first and not fixing the cars that has been already sold.
