- 2020 Jeep Cherokee: ptu power transfer unit - known problem (3 complaints) A few months ago, my Jeep would just power off out of nowhere while stopped at a light. I heard a noise, but it wasn't significant, so I brushed it off. Then the service light popped on: SVC 4WD. I took it to the mechanic, and he is now saying it is the PTU, having to do with the 4WD, and the recalls for this issue are for older models up to 2019, even though they have had a few vehicles with the same issue. He wants to run a few more tests and look into warranties and recalls because this is a significant issue ... read more »
- 2012 Ford Focus: transmission failure (45 complaints) I bought this car in 2013 with 14k miles on it. At 24k miles the transmission control module went bad ( I had no reverse gear ) and the Ford dealer replaced it with no charge to me . Although I had no car for 5 days. 2 weeks ago my wife calls and says the car will not go in reverse. Right away , I suspect that TCM again. I have it towed to the Ford dealer again . - 2008 Ford F-150: leaking transmission fluid (1 complaints) Noticed that my transmission was slipping. Parked the car and came back a few days, stuck in park. The shifter moved, but R, N, and D would not engage. I noticed that the transmission fluid levels were low, so I added more fluid (4 quarts). It shifted fine, so I took it to the shop where they discovered that there was a sizeable leak between the transmission and the driveshaft. I didn't run it enough to ruin my transmission (I hope), but it's a pain to fix. Mechanic says there may have been damage to the tranny by ... read more »

The first question I was asked from Chevy was who changed the oil? I said you did. You were the last to have the truck.
