I am getting a code "C0020-01" causing my vehicle to not brake properly, traction control is deactivated, constant chime of the warning system, loss of cruise control and unstable driving conditions when driving on wet roads. Researching the code has led me to forums on the internet which shows there are several incidents of this issue common to the 2017-2018 Ram 2500 vehicles.
1. ABS sytem faults, no known triggering, continuous flashing, resetting, and going off again. Drops the truck out of cruise control. 2. I would say yes, my safety and the safety of others are put at risk when this happens, especially when the truck drops out of cruise control at random upon onset of the issue. 3. onset 17sep24, continuied 18sep24, two days in a row now. Troubleshooting call has been made to dealer this am for follow on diagnostics. Cursiary research done this am shows multiple reports of faulty ABS system parts and modular issues being reported, class action lawsuits, NHTSA reports etc. 4. no 5. yes, ABS system failure warnings, ABS fault light with system chimes
The ABS warning light and alarm come on while driving. Loss of ABS and cruise control, near rear end collision by following vehicles on the freeway while using cruise control. Ram knows they have a problem with 2017 and 2018 2500 pickups. Why no recall? Safety problem!
ABS brakes module. Failed at 60k miles and has been on back order for almost 2 years. So I have not had ABS brakes in almost 2 years now. Seems to be a major problem. I know of 5 people with the same issue.
Abs light and traction control warning light constantly coming on and off while driving and a warning sound playing every time the lights come on in the dash, which is very annoying and frustrating. The truck is under 30 000 miles and unfortunately is out of warranty. I don-??t drive this truck very much and having this kind of problems with it is totally unacceptable.

The system that is malfunctioning is the braking system, ABS module, or HCU. The traction control light and ABS light intermittently flash, disengage cruise control and the antilock braking system. The lights never stay on consistently but rather they come on and off without any pattern. This same issue happened a right at 2 years and 30k miles previously which the truck was then taken to a dealership and supposedly replaced. However, the same issues are happening again with no indication as to why this part keeps failing. Truck has less than 90k on it currently, mainly highway use. There have been no inspections done, however, I plan to take it to the dealer in the near future.
Vehicle will display Service Electronic braking system randomly throughout driving the vehicle. The cruise control is not available when the code shows up. Also, the ABS and Traction Control lights pop up. The problem will shortly go away when I press the brakes all the way.
Abs light and braking system needs servicing and found out it is a common problem with Dodge Rams, scanner shows ABS pump motor control general electrical failure
-??Service AntiLock Brake System-?? and -??Service Electronic Braking System-?? lights flash intermittently while driving. ABS, Traction Control., and Engine lights up on dash. Code is C0020. It has done this several times while driving. Vehicle has just over 34,000 miles on odometer. Its a common issue apparently known by Stellantis and they had changed supplier and part number.
The ABS HCU has failed again this is the third time. The brakes feel spongy and the cruise control and 4wd does not work. The cause is unknown faulty design of parts. I don-??t remember the mileage of the first or second failure.
ABS needs service. Was quoted 2k from Dodge for repairs. As well as electric brake system not working Chrysler told me it is safe to tow my 10000 lbs rv with the errors and no ABS.
Vehicle has a control module failure causing the ABS, Traction Control, Cruise Control and other braking systems to intermittently turn off and on. The vehicle has been brought in for this issue and we have been told they are unable to get parts to replace the module at this time. This has been an ongoing issue for multiple years, with the failure occurring at a higher percentage of time the vehicle is driven now.
ABS service light was intermittently coming on and off for a period of time and now is constantly on. This results in constant beeping and also prevents the cruise control from working.
I bought my 2018 Ram Truck in 2019 new from a dealership. the first sign of a problem started at about 25,000 mi. It started sending tones with the message "Service Electronic Braking System" and "Service Antilock Brake System". It would toggle between these two messages and sound warning tones while the truck is in operation. The first shop I took it to replaced my carburetor. That was not it. I then took to a Diagnostic Shop and the message from the computer read: ABS pump motor control general electrical failure. On the dash it also shows the icon for slippery road conditions. Looking on the internet i realized that this is affecting 2017's and 2018's. There are a lot, maybe all of them being affected by this potentially dangerous malfunction.
The anti-lock brake control unit failed while under warranty and was repaired and it has failed again with only 53737 mi. When the ABS light comes on the traction control light comes on and the cruise control quits working. Seems very unsafe. Don't know if I can afford to fix it and no parts are available.
When driving and hit a bump the abs/ traction control lights come on and off. Does this consistently with bumps. Problem is not a wheel hub or sensor, when scanned it comes back as a C0020-01 code abs pump motor control general electrical failure. Safe to assume that the brushes within pump motor are sticking and failing to slide properly.
Constant problem of service electronic braking system and traction control light going on and off. Has been happening for the last 6 months on a truck with only 25,000 miles on it.
Driving on cruise control the Anti-Lock brake light came on causing the cruise control to turn off at highway speeds. The anti-lock brake system, cruise control and traction control all quit working. Warning light went out and then all started working again. Very intermittent problem at first then started getting more frequent. After research I found it is a known problem on 2017 and 2018 ram pickups. The parts to fix it are revisions from the original and known bad but no service bulletins or recalls. There has been a recall for 2019 and later but Ram is not addressing the earlier problems.
