At 41,000 miles -??check abs and electronic brake system-?? warning started coming on causing system failure to vehicle. Vehicle was taken to dealer with it requiring replacement of Hydraulic Control Unit and ABS control unit. Now at 71,000 miles same problem is occurring with cruise control deactivating, traction control failure, and ABS failure without warning. Apparently this is a known issue by RAM that continues to cause system failures across the vehicles sold between 2017 and 2019. To date I-??ve not had an accident due to this issue but it is definitely a safety issue that RAM should be forced to issue a recall to correct! Please respond with updates. Thank you-??
ABS and traction control modules randomly deactivate leaving 20,000 LBS of truck and trailer without the ABS and traction control system to aid in emergency stopping. This is A KNOWN ISSUE to Ram who refuses to acknowledge and properly recall and provide replacement parts on some of the most heavily used tow vehicles.
Truck chimes and says service ABS brake system and service electronic brake system. Traction control and ABS light pop on and off intermittently while driving.
Abs light comes on and off all the time. Randomly and hitting a bump. Hitting bumps causes an intermittent chime and notification alerting me that the Antilock Breaking System and Electronic Breaking System need service. It doesnt seem to matter what speed you are going. Upon research online looks to be a common problem that RAM has. There is an issue with pump motor electrical brushes making contact which causes this issue.

Two issues with my truck. #1. The ABS HCU was replaced under warranty once. I am now at 75k miles and it is doing the same thing again. Difference is I'm having to pay for it. #2. The Clock Springs has been replaced once already and now needs it again. I paid the first time and am now having to pay again!!! Absolutely not acceptable!!!
Second time my antilock brakes module has gone bad with 56000 miles not covered under warranty. Cost me $1700 to fix a little over two years ago. It went out again today and they said they wouldn't cover it. I have been reading about this and it's a major problem with many Ram trucks. I feel it should be taken care of on a recall and not having to pay every time it goes out. Ram knows this is a big problem and not doing anything but taking my money. Thank you
ABS control module fault code. Seems to be a lot of people having issues with this on 2017 and 2018 year model trucks. A class action would be nice or some sore of solution for ram to make a permanent fix.
My abs/traction control and electric braking system warning light has recently cone one for the third time. The first time it was repaired around 3,200 miles, the second time was around 32,000 miles and now around 72,000 miles. The light flases randomly and when it does i can't use my cruise control. My vehicle can be inspected any time.
Vehicle warning lights and message on dash keep going off and on indicating need to service the ABS system following a break-job. Warning comes and goes as many as 30 times per minute. Anti-lock brakes and traction control are currently inoperable. Dealer cannot diagnose between electronic ABS module and hydraulic control unit blames one or both as culprit. Module is on back-order from Mopar due to this being a widespread and prevailing issue and they even suggested the matter has been escalated to their engineers for a more robust solution. My ABS pump module was replaced under warranty at 90k miles. I was quoted $1800 to repair upon part availability. I would appreciate the NHTSA investigating this matter for eligibility of a forced recall with Ram to pay some or all costs to remedy.
Abs light comes on and off all the time. Randomly and hitting a bump. Code is c0020-01. The cruise control is disabled when this occurs. Also I assume abs would be disabled also. Took truck to dealer to look at. They tell me there is no engineering fix at this time for this issue and no parts available. Upon research online looks to be a common problem that RAM has. There is an issue with pump motor electrical brushes making contact which causes this issue. Truck is a fairly low mile truck.
Driving in traffic a vehicle in front made a sudden emergency manuver. I braked to avoid, the ABS warning light flashed and beeped "service abs system". The failed abs system nearly caused an accident. Took to the dealer, and they replaced the failed abs module under warranty at 20k miles on truck. Now, with 34k miles it failed again. Parts are reported to be on national backorder. Friends with this model truck are experiencing similar failures. Fact that these trucks are often work trucks, towing etc make these failures very serious. I urge you folks to push Ram to recall these defective parts before someone is killed.
Hitting bumps causes an intermittent chime and notification alerting me that the Antilock Breaking System and Electronic Breaking System need service. Both the ABS and traction control lights are illuminated. I contacted my local dealer and they indicated that this isn't an immediate safety concern and is due to an electrical issue for which they haven't solved. They quoted me $1,600 for the replacement of the Anti-Lock Brake System Module and Hydraulic Control Unit. After some online research, it seems that this is a common issue with many resulting in total brake failures. A potential brake system failure should be a recall for obvious reasons.
The issue with the Electronic Braking System and ABS has worsened. The two warning lamps are almost constantly on, or rapidly come on and go off rapidly. If I'm towing a trailer, all braking is lost momentarily - brake pedal to the floor - including the trailer brakes. The trailer brakes do not return until an ignition cycle, if the warning lamps stay off, that is. The dealer says no parts are available, but won't even take it in for troubleshooting or attempted repair. This truck scares me. This has been an issue for about two years and 20,000 miles.
ABS pump motor control and anti-lock brake hydraulic unit is out again. first time replaced at dealer on 12/27/2019 second time8/10/2022 and now ABS light flashing again for about 3 weeks now with code c0020-01. This should be a recall it is very dangerous to be hauling heavy equipment with this reoccurring problem approximately every 20,000 miles or so.
The abs/traction control lights are coming back on again. The abs control module and the hydraulic control unit were replaced when the truck had 34,000 miles. Now it has close to 60,000 and it has started doing the same thing again. Talked to the dealer and they said it would be close to $2000 to do the repair this time since it isn't under warranty. I have seen many of this same problem in a lot of the ram or cummins forums and feel this is a known issue and should be recalled. You lose the abs and traction control when these are out but it is intermittent. Fortunately, I haven't had an accident from this so far but could very well see how it could cause an accident. When my traction control was out the truck fish tailed on a wet road.
Service Electronic Braking System and Service Antilock Braking System lights have been popping on the dash for the last two months nonstop at random times. Sometimes I can drive for hours and not see them, then other times they flicker on and off constantly. It-??s very frustrating as my truck has only 27000 miles for a 2018. I-??ve checked rear wheel sensors and found a tiny bit of metal shavings which from what I-??ve read could be wheel bearings but still don-??t know a for sure answer. I-??m about tired of chasing down this rabbit trail. What caused this was I was backing my trailer and I started to spin a little and the lights came on so I clicked into 4x4 and lights stayed on. I turned the truck off and thought nothing of it and next morning truck had no lights on that day. But ever since then I-??ve been plagued with them going on and off.
Service ABS brake system warning lights.the ABS unit was replaced 6-7-2022 at feldman Dodge when the lights came on at 15525 miles.now the lights are coming on again at 30000 miles this seems to be a known Ram problem.please advise [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
