Fuel level sensor unit in the gas tank went out causing fuel guage to indicate there's an empty tank. This electonic sending unit went bad at 45,824 miles. I'm reading about dozens of these units having to be replaced on this model truck. The unit developed a dead spot which stops sending a signal when the tank reaches about 3/4 full. Then once fuel level drops to about 1/4 full the electronic signal becomes functional again and the gas guage works again.
The vehicle was stationary. Went to put the key in ignition and turn on. Truck would not start, not even turn. Tried jumping it and nothing worked. Having to get a whole new key ignition assembly done on it. Have read up on it and this has happened to many people. The truck won't lock or run. There are 83,000 miles on it and nothing prior to this has happened. The wheel will not turn or go into neutral. The lights inside do work so it is not the battery. Having to send to a mechanic and all parts have been ordered as they identified it was the ignition module that went out. He said it happens a lot to Dodge.
Failure of air suspension system multiple times while still under warranty, failure of backup camera, failure of other electrical components like front headlight and indoor dome light.
Fuel pump module assembly failure. Has been failing over past 3 months, now totally off. Unable to know amount of fuel in tank. Have been told by the dealer it is a common problem with this truck and a safety concern. Vehicle has less than 36,000 miles on it. Ram should issue recall as potential for stranded vehicle is great.

When backing into garage on 5/24/20 Ram 1500 quad cab steering locked in one position and vehicle accelerator went to the floor. Vehicle accelerated quickly backwards into my garage wall and damaged the garage wall, garage door, and vehicle. I was able to stop the vehicle prior to it hitting the back of the garage and going into my house. The vehicle steering was still locked and the vehicle would not go back into gear. Had the vehicle towed to the dealership.
I was pulling out into fast oncoming highway cross traffic when I lost all accelerating power. Traffic had to swerve around me and I narrowly avoided being struck multiple times before I could get off to the side of the road. There had been no prior warnings of this failure. At the dealership I was told the control module for the accelerator had failed and they had to reprogram it. Being that I could have been killed, I felt this failure should be reported to you.

Yeah I started with the screens in my dash going dark they could not figure out what the issue was so now it's gotten to where the whole dashboard and the whole everything dies or shuts down. The engine shuts off the front of the vehicle drops down as if you're slammed on your breaks you can feel the pull the transmission as if that's what's slowing me down. Then it hits right back within seconds in the whole vehicle all the lights come on everything everything I'm so bright it almost blind you and then all sudden everything calm down you're back to normal in the picture I sent is what the screens look like afterwards it looks like well you'll see.doesn't matter what speed what area road conditions it just happens random intervals. What is the scare me the most are at 70 miles an hour you have no power no nothing to start locking up and starts back up it has something to do with the sensors they don't know exactly what it is but I can't get it fixed. It's about the scariest thing having your vehicle shut down at 60 to 70 miles an hour quite often. I've talk to other people with the same condition. It's over the three years has gotten progressively worse and they will not do anything about it. And they do know that it is an issue because they have an update for some of the issues so they are aware of this allowing people to die out there.
Truck still under warenty has less than 13,000 miles. 7 different times car won't start. Have had to get it towed to dealership 3-4 times. Each time it's repaired a different electrical computer code is stated as the problem. This has happened in parking lots, our driveway and at a light (car would not go)! very dangerous. Started to happen 3 months after we bought the truck. Happens every 30-60 days.
Door locks - video recorded problem sent to dealer - a few months ago dealer could not replicate the problem doors not unlocking or locking with fob or door switches. Since then occurred numerous times, but did not want another fruitless trip to the dealer. On and off now the doors will not unlock with fob or hand door sensor. After a few minutes the door will unlock allowing access.
Have had multiple electrical issues regarding interior and exterior lights since purchasing new. Taken to dealer unable to replicate the issue's, had recall fixed for shifter knob. Additional issues with the keyless remote not locking or unlocking all the doors or latches. Newest electrical issue is a short in the rambox wiring causing a fire while traveling down the road. Completely burned and destroyed wiring in rear of rambox burned through the plastic and warped the box door.
The contact owns a 2017 Ram 1500. While driving between 35-75 mph, "service shifter" appeared on the instrument panel and all of the warning indicators illuminated. In addition, the trailer hitch and electrical system failed. The vehicle was towed to lithia Dodge Ram (301 N. earl rudder fwy, bryan tx 77802) where it was diagnosed that one of the electrical sensors got wet underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired and a new sensor was installed; however, the failure later recurred. The vehicle was repaired four times for the same failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 21,000.
Multiple episodes of vehicle codes disabling truck, all related to 'service electronic throttle control' message. This has caused loss off power with vehicle stalling on mountain highway, major safety issue. Other times vehicle has scary delay in throttle response causing nerve wracking moments trying to merge or operate vehicle safely. Vehicle purchased new, problems began with only 1500 miles on vehicle. Four times to dealer for service hasn't resolved issue.
As soon as I hit over 36,000 miles, I been having trouble with door locks. Some doors lock and unlock. Sometimes they all work fine. It is very random. Using the key fob and power lock button in car is working randomly. I have read online this has been an issue for many years.
