When traveling at 70mph+, certain bumps will cause the steering wheel to shake violently. The wheel is impossible to hold on to. You have to show down to around 50mph to get the shake to go away. It was taken to the dealer and although I explained it has happened multiple times, they said they were unable to replicate it and therefore unable to make any repairs

A few months after purchasing my certified pre-owned 2018 Jeep Wrangler unlimited sahara, I began experiencing regular shaking episodes while driving on the freeway. The shaking starts after driving over a small bump in the road. At first I could get the shaking to stop by slowing the vehicle down some, but the problem quickly progressed to where the vehicle had to be slowed down to a complete stop to end the shaking. This is extremely unsafe to have happen on the freeway, and is especially terrifying to try and maintain control of the vehicle when there is heavier traffic on the road. My Jeep had fewer than 18,000 miles and was in service less than 2 years prior to being brought into the dealership repair shop. I have sent the vehicle manufacturer a lemon law complaint letter via certified mail and filed a complaint with Maryland's consumer protection division (attached). My Jeep has been at the repair shop for 3 months already, and I was recently notified that the necessary repair part is not expected to be available for almost 3 more months.

When starting the vehicle for the first time in the morning when the temp is at or below freezing for about the first 10-15 minutes of driving the vehicle will not want to turn left. It feels like it is binding up and you have to force the steering wheel to the left but then it will let loose and send you to the left with force. This has caused me to almost wreck several times. Thankfully I have been able to avoid the oncoming traffic but worry one time I will not. I worry for any passengers that might be in my vehicle and for myself. I have taken it into the dealership several times but by the time I get it there it is either to warm out or not doing the problem because I have driven it to them. I also contacted the Jeep cares line and all they would tell me is take it to the dealership. So no help there. I have read numerous posts online of other Wrangler owners having this same issue and dealers have replaced components and fixed those issues. But I can not seem to get any help when I take mine in. This is very frustrating that Jeep knows about this problem as there is a tsb out for it but they will not fix anything on mine because they say they cannot duplicate the problem.

I own a 2108 Jeep Wrangler jl with 32,100-miles on the odometer. On three separate occasions in the past month, while driving on the highway at 60+ mph, my steering and front suspension has started shaking in a wild, uncontrollable manner, forcing me to nearly bring my vehicle to a stop. The situation seems to be initiated by hitting bumps at highway speed, which triggers a run-away, violent, harmonic shaking (not just vibrations). I had the tires rebalanced and alignment checked, but the same thing happened'this extreme shaking is definitely not a tire issue. I'm not only concerned for my safety; but if this continues, the violent nature of this shaking will most certainly damage other components of the suspension or steering.

Jeep went into autonation broadway in littleton Colorado on January 8th 2021. The vehicle has been there unrepaired since due to a recall for a death wobble which caused loss of control of vehicle on highway causing me to almost hit the center jersey barrier.. however, when looking at the VIN on NHTSA recall check it shows the recall has been completed and there are no open recalls. Fca also states that this is not a safety issue but will not say or put in writing that the vehicle is safe to drive.

Experianced a death wobble at 50mph on I-25 which caused 100% loss of control of steering almost hitting center barrier. Took to autonation broadway (littleton co), while driving to dealership experienced a deathwobble at 40-45 mph. Dealership has had vehicle for almost 3 months, no loaner or other help has been provided. Warranty has expired since it has been at dealership and I've made 3 payments (will be 4 payments in 2 weeks). Vehicle is not fixed, however on the NHTSA recall check it shows the recall is closed and there are no open recalls.

Car has been in shop multiple times with multiple parts replacements to correct Jeep death wobble. Steering wheel shakes violently and driver loses control of steering when car hits bumps going over 55 mph. Replacement of steering dampner and track bar have only been temporary fixes and then problem starts all over again. The problem is particularly bad if you his a bump when there is slight curve in the road. All service documentation is uploaded below. Steering dampner and tire rod have been replaced three times since 2019 and it is currently not working again.

In colder temps, at highway speeds, steering becomes extremely difficult. Took this to fca dealer and they were 'unable to recreate'... basically didn't find recall, so won't attempt to fix. The power steering goes out unpredictably, then re-engages unpredictably. This is going to lead to someone over-correcting at a high speed.

While driving on the interstate at approximately 71mph, hit a bump vehicle started to violently shake. Slowing down did not fix the issue. I had to pull over and stop. Very scary feeling. Both batteries died out at approximately 39,000, first the main battery, then the auxiliary battery. Noise coming from behind the glove box when the vehicle is powered on or not. Clunking noise when taking off from a stop, or first take off. (dealer stated it was normal (yeah right)) passenger visor broken. Hardtop leaking in center front, causing the rearview mirror to ruin. (has been looked at by the dealership numerous times. Air conditioning when driving a long distance will sometimes blow out hot air on the passenger side. Coolant drained dye put in to detect leaks, no leaks. Still happening floorboards get extremely hot at times it feels like the heater is on.

While driving at highway speeds our 2018 Jeep Wrangler unlimited sport started violently shaking so bad I could hardly hold onto the steering wheel. I immediately applied the brakes to slow down and the shaking subsided. This has happen about five times since it first occurred. I also received a recall from Fiat Chrysler automobiles (fca) stating there was a recall (V41) which is supposed to fix this issue. We made arrangements at our local dealership to get the recall work done but they did not have the part on hand even after they confirmed they did. That was on January 15, 2021. The dealership (thompsons Chrysler Jeep in placerville, ca) was to call us when they received the part. It had been over a month and a half and we have not heard a word from them even after numerous emails asking for an update.

2018 Jeep Wrangler has terrifying steering issues. Consistently while steering a highway curve at 40-55 mph my Jeep steering disengages and results in an unsafe inability to maintain the steering column. The steering can be described as loose and commonly described by passengers as the unsettling feeling that the frame of the vehicle is coming off the wheels. Please look into this safety issue. I have not been injured yet but if this continues I don't think it will remain that way.

Vehicles has excessive play in the steering wheel which makes staying/driving in the lane difficult on highways and incredibly difficult on side roads. Dealer has replaced the steering gearbox and now says it drives as it sohuld. Taken vehicle to other shops and was told that while moving the steering wheel back and forth the drag link moves immediatly but the tie rod does not which contributes to the excessive play felt in the steering wheel. Also the gearbox moves away from the vehicle frame which exasperates the problem even more.
