My Jeep has began to shake violently on two recent occasions 11/18 and 11/23 at highway speeds. I tracked back to see if something was in the road, but all I found was a small imperfection about 1 inch tall in the road seam. The vehicle began to shake so violently that it took all I could do to keep from colliding with neighboring cars. The internet calls this -??death wobble -?? and it was supposed to be repaired by the dealer under recall. I had the work completed over a year ago and the vehicle is still affected.

My Steering wheel keeps locking up and I am unable to turn the wheel. My power steering fluid is fine cause I had it checked. The only way to unlock the steering wheel is to step in the brake. I believe it has something to do with the power steering pump. I have set up an appointment with Jeep for service. I recently had my jeep inspected and it passed. No warning lights have come up. It-??s a very scary experience as I almost got into an accident as I was not able to turn the wheel until I stepped on the brake.

I was driving to work at approximately 7:50 am when the outside ambient temperature was below freezing (approximately 30 degrees Fahrenheit). The vehicle was operating normally until I came to a long, sweeping, and gradual curve on a road that I take every day to get to work. As I entered this curve to the right, driving at approximately 60mph, my steering locked up causing the Jeep to drift into the other lane of traffic. After 2-3 seconds of steering lock, the wheel released and I was able to jerk the vehicle back into my lane. Normal operation resumed, until I came to a similar curve, just up the road, when the lockup happened again. Again, the curve was long, sweeping, and gradual, and I was driving at approximately 60mph.

This morning while taking my Jeep to work, the steering was locked up on me. I had roughly 15 degrees of movement on either side. I had to take a turn and use every bit of my strength to turn the Jeep until I could physically feel my steering loosen up and then drove normal. I always use my remote start and let it warm up before driving on cold mornings. It doesn't have any mods on it either that aren't from Jeep.

Entire vehicle continues to shake violently about 1/3 of the time after hitting a bump at highway speeds. Shaking has become increasingly prevalent and pronounced, and it lasts for a longer duration when unable to slow down under 45 mph while driving. Vehicle shake has been noticed by other drivers, who signaled about the issue while driving. Manufacturer recall has been completed twice, but issue continues to get worse.

Driving 72 mph on interstate, crossed a bridge and as I exited the bridge hit a rough spot and the 2018 Jeep Wrangler I was driving, suddenly the front end started vibrating vigorously and the steering wheel starting vibrating so bad I almost lost control of the vehicle. Finally I slowed down to 40 mph and the vibration stopped. I am afraid to drive the vehicle at a high rate of speed on the interstate because of the possibility of having a wreck. This need to be taken care immediately by the company at no charge to me. The vehicle only has 5500 miles on it. I bought it new.

In July 2021 our 19 year old daughter was driving our 2018 Rubicon on a trip 2 hours or so from home when all of the dash warning lights came on speedometer was lost. Panicked she asked us what to do? We told her to take it to the closest Jeep dealership (Ladd-Hanford DCJR) to see if the vehicle was safe to drive. She was told it just needed an oil change and it was safe to drive. About 10 days later my wife was driving the vehicle and the same thing happened. The vehicle was taken to our local dealer where they tried to diagnose, unable to duplicate the problem it was returned to us. We returned about 10 days later same lights coming on, this time power steering was lost. Dealership worked with Chrysler engineering and determined that the ABS module needed replaced. Work completed and Jeep was picked up. About 10 days later dash warning lights on, speedometer display out, power steering lost, back to dealership. Unable to look at at that time appointment made and returned. It is now September 30th we have cases opened with Chrysler and Mopar Warrantee. Vehicle is still at the dealership, diagnosis is now a $2000 chaffed wiring harness just outside the fuse box not covered by anybody. No guarantee that this will fix it. Neither will put anything in writing. I have tried to be patient, we need our vehicle. I do not feel that my family or others are safe when it pertains to this vehicle. I don't want it to be involved in an accident that could cause serious injury or death.

I was in my car at a gas station and the car had shut down with ABS light, check engine light. The car would not start up with push to start. The shifter also was locked into place when the car eventually ended up starting. 5 mins later the car finally started up and all the of the warning lights/messages went away. I received an oil change + inspection from a dealership and nothing was found. This same problem happened again in a parking lot, (ABS, check engine, car not turning on) and I took my car to the dealership for service. They performed an inspection and I was told the ABS module needed to be replaced. About a week later I picked up my car from the dealership after they told me they fixed the issue and my car was good to go. THE SAME DAY, I had the same problem except this time it was significantly worse and extremely dangerous for myself and others. This time, WHILE driving my "serviced" vehicle, the ABS light, check engine light came on, dashboard stopped working, and the steering wheel also had locked while DRIVING and I was unable to turn. I was extremely terrified and I immediately pulled the car over. After multiple attempts to start the car (same issue as before: car would not start, ABS/check engine light) I promptly took the vehicle to the dealership again. The dealership is charging me again for another inspection, hours after their service? It seems that they are using this as an opportunity to make money, rather than actually fix the issue with the vehicle. This should not be about money, this is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. The service the dealership has provided not only endangered my life, but the lives of others around me. I am extremely fortunate that this did not happen on the freeway. The dealer did not fix the problem, and in fact made the car dangerous with some of these new issues, the steering wheel locking up and the disabled dashboard. The part they replaced did not fix my car and put me, as well as others in a DANGEROUS situation.

I purchased the Jeep Wrangler as the first owner in 2018. I immediately felt inconsistencies with the steering. The steering felt loose. At the time I expressed my concern to the dealership that I purchased the Jeep from, I was told that there was a recall on my Jeep for the 'death wobble' and that it was likely the result of that. The recall work was completed within the first 12 months of purchase. The recall repair did not resolve the issue. The steering continued to feel loose and as time went on became more evident. When driving on the expressway onto an exit at 40-50mph I followed the slight curve and the steering felt unstable and wandered. The best way to describe what occurred would be that it felt like the frame was falling off the wheels. This continued more frequently and last week became unmanageable. While driving 70mph down the expressway, I was unable to maintain control of the vehicle. It felt like I was driving a boat on water. I felt confident that the frame of the Jeep was leaving the wheels. At this time I noticed that the gears were slipping as well. I made an appointment to have my transmission examined. The earliest available appointment is 6 days out, so I decided to sneak under the Jeep to see if there was a transmission leak. What I observed was shocking to find on a 2018 vehicle and considerably overwhelming. My degree is criminal science, so far from having any automative/engineering experience and knowledge, but contextual clues are evidentiary clear to me. The feeling of the frame being displaced from the body of the vehicle is a probable result. I have a deep concern with the current condition of the welding of the frame and the condition of the underbody.
