My steering seems to bind when I turn the wheel to the left. It will bind then let go causing oversteering. The problem is intermittent. The problem is on both city streets and on the highway. There were two occasions when the steering would only allow me to turn the wheel 1/4 to the left. I had to use both hands and pull real hard to turn the Jeep a fraction. It seems like the problem is worse when it is cold. This problem was also on both city streets and on the highway. This problem is also intermittent. This is a serious safety concern. Both problems seem to be getting worse. The vehicle is in the dealership now but they have not experienced the problems.

When driving at highway speeds steering seems loose and not very responsive. It takes a good deal of turn in the wheel for it to move the wheels a little. If you have to move quickly the wheel does not react. I feel it is unsafe because if you needed to get out of the way and move the wheel it does not respond, in my option the steering is too loose and does not have any resistance behind the wheel and is dangerous and could cause an accident.

Driving on highway at approximately 70-75 mph and the front end started to shake violently. Steering wheel and front end were visibly shaking. Had to pull to side of road. Took to dealership the next day in which they stated it was the "death wobble". parts not available to fix for 5-6 more months (April - May 2019). Completely unacceptable considering it's brand new, I commute 5 days a week (120 highway miles a day) and also Transport two small children to school every day. I also suffer from panic attacks, in which this incident brought on a full blown attack. I am very concerned about my safety in this vehicle.

I was driving straight at a speed of 65 miles per hour on a busy, main highway. Without warning, the Jeep went into a "death wobble" and was unable to be controlled. I was unable to steer the vehicle and I was forced to coast to a stop along the shoulder. Only upon bringing the car to a complete stop did the the violent shaking stop. I was unable to drive the car properly after that, as the steering was loose and not correctly controlled. I made it to a gas station while driving slowly and was towed to a dealership from there.

UA5/NHTSA 18V-675 track bar weld recall. I had the required inspection done two weeks ago, but dealer won't do the welding. I have been trying to make Jeep customer service make the local dealer fix this very serious issue, but nothing happens. I've even tried a dealer 1 hour 40 minute drive from me here in Arizona, they won't do it either.

Just purchased a new Jeep Wrangler jl rubicon and it has major steering issues. Almost impossible to keep the car in a straight line due to excessive play in the steering. On a windy day it actually dangerous and on one occasion I almost hit a guardrail on the interstate. The wandering is most noticeable on the interstate. This is not caused by any specific road surface. I wanted to document this just in case something happens to me or my vehicle. There are thousands of other Wrangler owners 2018 jl model that are having the same issue. I only have 2500 miles but another issue that I haven't yet experienced in my Jeep yet but there is a dangerous shimmy when hitting bridge over passes, expansion joint in the road when your going 55-65 mph. Would be nice if govt could step in and accelerate the fix and make Fiat Chrysler fix these Jeep before someone is killed driving their Jeep.

Extreme wobble and shaking at highway speeds which continues well past the road imperfections that caused the specific type of suspension travel. Started under 1000 miles. Happens several times every workday - can be replicated. This vehicle is completely stock and brand new. If driving around a slight turn with small bumps the vehicle starts shaking violently and keeps shaking for 20-30 seconds until the traveling speed is reduced to 50 mph which is not a safe speed at times. 2 steady hands must be on the steering wheel to maintain control and changing lanes is not possible. Had to make an avoidance maneuver during the shaking and almost lost control while traveling 60 mph. This car is not safe to operate and the problem happens multiple times per day. Unknown components and parts cause the extreme shaking/wobbling. This statement is to document the problem; there will be videos and repair invoices in the future but several dealerships have told me there are no fixes for the problem called death wobble. I am currently on a "waiting list" for a repair attempt. I will call for an update with the dealership 11/30/18. The tires are stock and at proper pressure. There have been no modifications to the vehicle.

I was driving down I81 in pa. It was approx. 35 degrees outside and raining. I was driving 69-70 mph and entered into a left hand curve. My steering wheel locked up to where I couldn't get it to turn left any further than the slight left needed for the curve. After several attempts of trying to over power the stuck steering wheel feeling, it returned to a normal steering wheel feeling. I have uploaded a video I took. I took the video after it happened to me the first time going straight down the interstate at 65-70 mph. Here is the link to the video: Https://www.youtube.com/watch?V=yzy8X7C01-S

Hi, I purchased a 2018 Jeep Wrangler jlu new from you dealership and I have been having several significant issues with it recently. The most concerning is several issues with the steering. At highway speeds if you hit a bump like an expansion joint ; the steering wheel shakes aggressively and causes you to temporarily lose control of the Jeep and you have to slow down for it to self correct. It is similar to death wobble in a lifted Jeep but this one is stock. Also, with the colder weather the steering wheel is not turning freely at highway speeds. It is almost as if the power steering randomly turns off but the wheel is even more difficult to turn. The steering goes back to normal at slow speeds. And finally the radio and touch screen are not working properly. The fm radio randomly completely loses signal and can not find stations. Randomly even with the volume all the way up to 30 you can barely hear the radio. Several times the screen has made a pop noise and then just turned off. The blue tooth intermittently fails.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. While driving approximately 65 mph over a bump in the road, the steering wheel wobbled and vibrated without warning. The vehicle was taken to ray price mt pocono Chevrolet (570-839-0810, located at 2969 pa-940, mt pocono, pa 18344) where it was diagnosed that the steering dampener needed to be replaced. The dealer stated that the part was on backorder and would not become available until April of 2019. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not provided. The failure mileage was approximately 100. The consumer stated the problem persists and feels its a defect in the ball joint or wheels. Consumer stated as per my complaint or year ago my Jeep had a terrible waba have to bring it back three times I thought it to be corrected now almost a year later it is starting again it is actually a killer wobble with the wheel vibrating terrible. Due to this wobble I feel there is an inherent problem in the ball joints and wheels therefore I'm not sure how to apply for the lemon law but it appears my car is a lemon.

While driving at highway speeds the steering develops a severe wobble in steering and front end......the only way to stop the wobble is to apply brakes and slow down considerably. The shaking and wobble has been severe enough as to cause a loss of grip on the steering.

Around 7000 miles we started to get a vibration that would last till we slowed down every time we hit a bump with our Wrangler jl at highway speed. It has since turned into a violent shake that will literally rattle your teeth. You can feel the shake throughout the whole care and especially on the wheel. The bump in road does not have to be big and can be as small as the place where the road connects to an overpass. Having to slow down to around 40 mph to get it to stop when all other traffic is traveling 60+ mph is scary and we are now worried for our safety. Have taken the vehicle in to our Jeep dealer 3 times, but they have not been able to resolve the issue. They did say that they currently have 3 other jl Wrangler experiencing the same problem and they have yet to find a solution.
