My daughter was driving my 2018 Jeep Wrangler jl to al a month ago and experienced the "death wobble". she did not lose control of the Jeep and made it there fine. Today, my wife was driving the Jeep up I-85 from downtown atlanta, went over a seam in the road at 70 mph (speed limit) and almost lost control of Jeep and swerved into adjacent lane almost sideswiping another car when she experienced the 'death wobble'. she was so upset, she pulled off the interstate in tears. I have sent E-mails to Jeep hq and dealer I purchased Jeep from.

When traveling highway speeds typically between 70-75 and the Jeep hits a bump. The entire car wobbles fairly significantly for a second or two. It stops wobbling when you take foot off the accelerator. The dealer examined the car and believes it to be safe. I have driven many Jeep over the years and never experienced this. It does not seem safe.

On 10-10-18 (15000miles) I started to experience a death wobble that was getting worse very quickly. I took it to my dealership and they had it for 31 days. They said it was a problem in one of my tires. I drove it 200 more miles and it started again. I called them back and they told me that crystler said there was no fix for it and it was still safe. As it continued to get worse, I called crystler, and they had their tech reach out to my dealership (took 3 weeks). They said they needed to install an after market stabalizer bar, which they did - and as I drove away and on to the interstate the Jeep went violently out of control and I was almost hit by 4-5 other vehicles on the interstate. I was almost killled. I drove right back to the dealership and explained as I was shaking with tears from fear. This has been almost 2 months and they are refusing to give me a loaner. My responses and lack of urgency on this is beyond legal. I am not safe in a $50K brand new vehicle. Please someone do something about this very soon, it isn't just Jeep owners, it is whomever might be driving around them on interstates and highways.

When hitting a bump on the highway (for example- bridge seams) at highway speeds (45 mph+) the Jeep will shudder and shake, particularly the steering wheel & front end at times; sometimes when hitting a series of bumps the shuddering will intensify and is more difficult to stop. The only way to stop the shuddering is to slow down to speeds that are potentially unsafe on the highway - <30 mph.

Death wobble. Bought brand new 2018 Jeep sahara in June. 12/1/2018 hit a bumpy road and went into a violent shake. It did it twice more later that day on 12/2 it did this again. All at speed 55-80 the shaking is so bad it is hard to control vehicle. Your hands will be numb after trying to hold the steering wheel.

I made an error on the dates on my earlier submission, compkaint number 11155434. In the 4th sentence I said 10/8, it should be 11/8. in the 5th sentence I said 10/9, it should be 11/9. in the 6th sentence I said 10/10, it should be 11/10. I purchased my sahara from auto world on a fully paid cash basis as a new vehicle under full factory warranty on 9/1/2018. The events reported were first experienced on 10/27/2018 although the death wobble has happened multiple times since 10/27/2018. Auto world has had my car in its shop since 10/29/2018 for all but the late afternoon of 11/8, 11/9 and the morning of 11/10. Auto world still has my car. I can not and will not drive my paid for car with my grand children or anyone else in the car due to the gravity of the problem and safety concerns.

Violent shaking when on the highway. This occurs when I hit an uneven bump going around 70 mph. Feels very dangerous and lasts for minutes. This forced me to slow down considerably on the highway.

My 2 month old sahara has experienced violent shaking and vibrations through the steering/suspension system on multiple occasions. The car is not safe to drive. I delivered my sahara to the dealer, auto world of petaluma on 10/29. Auto world kept my car to address the problem returning it after replacing the tires on 10/8. on 10/9 my car again experienced what I now know is called 'death wobble.' I took my car out on the morning of 10/10 and again experienced 'death wobble.' Because auto world told me it could not replicate the death wobble in my car I took it out on the freeway and made two video tapes of the steering wheel during death wobble. I then returned my car to the service manager at auto world and showed him the videos. The service manager told me he after seeing the video that he thought Jeep had resolved the death wobble problem with Jeep's years ago. That was the first time I had heard the term death wobble. I told the manager where to take the car to experience death wobble. Death wobble initiated in my car while traveling at freeway speeds when encountering any type of change of conditions like going from an asphalt to concrete surface at a bridge overpass/underpass on the freeway. After returning my car to the service manager on 11/10 I was directed to several different Jeep complaint teams. I was altimately put in contact with representative Ford from the Jeep resolution team in dallas Texas. Ford told me to be patient as it would take him 1 to 30 days to address my claim. I originally spoke with Ford almost 3 weeks ago. I volunteered to send him my videos and emails with the dealer however he declined to accept them and would not give me contact information where I could send the material I had accumulated. Despite multiple calls to Ford I have not heard from him since 11/20. My car for which I paid cash is not safe to drive.

I purchased this Jeep brand new. I can hardly maintain my lane while traveling over 60mph on the highway. I am all over the road. I have to hold on tightly with two hands. I have owned several Jeep over the years. I have never had this issue. I have a video of the 1" in the play of my steering wheel while traveling at highway speeds. The Jeep does not move or respond until you go past that 1" gap. I have also almost wrecked due to over correcting. A car came into my lane while on the interstate. I swerved, but due to the steering box not responding to what the steering wheel was doing, I almost flipped it. Very scary. It is not fun to drive and I have contemplated getting rid of it.

Once my 2018 Jeep Wrangler hit over 16.5K miles, when driving over 60 mph and hit a bump in the road, the steering wheel/wheels shake vigorously and the only way to stop is to bring the speed below 60 mph, which is very unsafe when driving on the highway. I am also now noticing that the steering/suspension feels different when traveling on secondary roads when hitting bumps on the road. This started 2 weeks ago was minor and is continuing to get worse.

There is a dead spot in the steering at center. When I'm driving I have to constantly correct the steering to make it go straight. The problem gets worse at higher speeds. The vehicle wonders and I'm sure it looks like there's a drunk driver behind the wheel. I can move the steering wheel 15 degrees back and forth in either direction while driving and not get a response from the steering. That's the dead spot. This makes it difficult to keep the vehicle in a lane.

My new jl has 2600 miles on it and I've had issues with the amount of play (couple inches of free play) most noticeable on the highway. It floats back and forth, requiring constant correction. I had a 2.5' lift installed, and first thought this was the issue. After reading all the accounts of steering, mine is exactly as people are describing. I've had the lift look at, alignment redone, wheels balanced, and still seems sloppy and unsafe. My particular VIN does not show it on the recall, but this is horribly dangerous. I'm driving home to see my folk in a couple days and am scared of my 40K new Jeep. Please make them do a full recall to investigate all steering issues. I've also experienced a 'shimmy shaking ' while on highway speeds turning and weight shifts. Not like a violent dearh wobble, but still completely shaking the Jeep. I suppose if while on my drive home next week I crash, let this be a warning and eye opener that there is something definitely not safe about it. I don't have have an alternative to driving something else. Nor should we have to be worried about driving our very expensive new vehicles..

Jeep Wrangler jl sport (2 dr) build date 6/18 purchased 7/18 currently 1243 mile on the odometer. Since the drive home from the dealer the vehicle constantly wanders left and right regardless of the type of road surface. I recently took the Jeep on a straight and level road and could not travel more than 25 yards at 45 mph without moving the steering wheel at least 1.5 inches. I have adjusted the tire pressure up and down from the factory setting with no change. I believe this is a common problem on the Jeep jl, it is difficult to keep the vehicle in its own lane creating control problems. The problem intensifies with speed

My vehicle has the "death wobble" on the highway at any speeds above 55 mph. If I hit a small bump on the road, such as a highway joint, my steering wheel shakes violently and uncontrollably and my wheels also uncontrollably vibrate. I am unable to control the vehicle when this happens and immediately try to slow down and hold onto the steering wheel as hard as I can.
