While driving at hwy speeds and hitting a bump in the road the front right of the Jeep start to wobble violently. The only way to stop it is to slow down to 35-40 mpr. This is very dangerous to do in the middle of the hwy. Initially felt like a flat tire. I brought it to the dealership and they can not replicate the wobble and checked "everything" this happened at high speeds, 5 people in the car and dog in the bag. I am disappointed that there is not a fix for this especially in a new model jl. I purchased brand new in June and have made no modification to the Jeep.if someone was to panic during this event it could be life threatening.

There was already a recall on the steering box. I had it replaced with the part numbers ending in ( ad ). that was the prescribed pics from the dealer. However the death worbble, is back. The dealership was notified and said they would order another steer box and replace that one. The fix for this. May not be working

There is excessive play in the steering wheel causing you to constantly make corrections just to keep the vehicle in the lane. Its very difficult to maintain lane position if you hit a bump or groove in pavement when traveling at speeds over 40mph. The dealership states it's a "lifted Jeep thing" however the vehicle was bought new as equipped and owners without lifts report the same issues. The dis-regard for safety by Jeep fca is deeply concerning as they are not assisting current owners with a resolution (my dealership denies the issue completely) and they continue to put more of these difficult to control vehicles on the road. Please help drive an investigation before someone is seriously injured or killed!

My problem has been happening since mid-November. The problems is that at highway speeds if I hit a bridge joist or a seam in the highway, the steering wheel shakes violently back and forth and I have to slow down. The dealer and Jeep have said it was the steering stabilizer, but I've had two replacements and the same thing continues to happen. It is especially bad if the bump is on a corner and one tire hits it before the other. I've almost lost control several times. This happens at speeds of around 45+ mph. It is definitely a scary situation.

While driving down highway beginning to go around left-hand curve, when you start to turn steering wheel toward the left, it will not turn. To get the vehicle to turn to the left, you have to apply the brake, but when you do apply the brake, the steering wheel releases the pressure that is holding it from not turning to the left. As a result the vehicle will dart into the on coming lane, head on to on coming traffic.

At 3 months old and 3000 miles, my 2018 jl started exhibiting the "death wobble" symptoms. It always happens at a specific highway speed--between 55-70 mph when I hit certain expansion joints on the highway. I feel it in the wheel, and it oscillates throughout the front end of the vehicle. I have to slow down for it to stop. If I don't slow down or pull to the right of the highway, it escalates into a violent shake. The vehicle is completely stock with no modifications. It has never even been off the road. In response, fca issued a replacement steering stabilizer. The replacement stabilizer masked the issue for three weeks, but now the wobble is coming back just as it had before. Again, to stop the vehicle I have to slow down to 40-50 mph on the highway. This is extremely dangerous, and fca is being incredibly reluctant to acknowledge and address this serious issue.

I bought this Wrangler jl model new this past summer. Since that time I have experienced 3 separate occasions where the front end shakes uncontrollably with the steering wheel shaking back and forth. This occurred once on a multiple lane road traveling approximately 45mph and once on a highway traveling approximately 70mph. I have been told by the Jeep dealer this is termed a "death wobble."

Death wobble. Every time I'm on the highway, 65-75mph, and go over a bridge or other slight bump. The steering wheel and entire car start shaking violently and I have to slow down to get it under control. I won't let my 18 year old child drive the Jeep because of this. It's quiteviolent. I will put the most recent date, but it has happened several times. I'm not what one would describe as an uptight driver but this scared me. The Jeep has had no modifications from date of purchase. Tire pressure is equal and normal. The mileage is less than 8,000. I've had the car for 6minths

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. While driving 60 mph, the steering wheel shook without warning. The vehicle was taken to C harper (2401 memorial blvd, connellsville, pa 15425, 724-603-2800) to be diagnosed, but they were unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 2,000.

My steering wheel shakes/vibrates rapidly multiple times daily at speeds verying from 20mph through 80mph. It happens when I hit a bump or some kind of iregular form in the road and it last from 5 seconds all the way to 35 seconds.

When hitting a bump on the highway (for example- bridge seams) at highway speeds (55 mph+) the Jeep will shudder and shake, particularly the steering wheel & front end at times; sometimes when hitting a series of bumps the shuddering will intensify and is more difficult to stop. The only way to stop the shuddering is to slow down to speeds that are potentially unsafe on the highway - <30 mph.

I purchased this 2018 unlimited in June, brand new, with under 500 miles it took to drive it from mi. At approx. 15,000 miles I heard a rattle, that sounded like a loose heat shield, took it in and techs found nothing, said no heat shields. Within about 2 weeks I was driving on the highway, at highway speed, as I came over bridge crossings my Jeep would shake uncontrollably and I was not able to steer. At first it would only happen occassionally, then it got worse, to the point of moving out of the lane I was driving in and into the berm and/or into the lane next to me. The whole Jeep would shake uncontrollably for longer than 1-3 minutes. I did notice that if crossing over bridges in a straight away, the wobble was less severe than if I was in a slight curve, or angle. Also, I did notice that if I took my foot off the gas pedal before, during and for a short period after bridges, the Jeep doesn't have the wobble as often. This may need to be checked, the techs are replacing parts they are being told to by Jeep, but Jeep doesn't know what is causing the death wobble, maybe it isn't directly relayed to only the front steering damper.

2018 Jeep wranger jl sport 2 door has 1500 miles, stock from the factory, no modifications and I experienced the "death wobble" on the highway - at about 70 mph I went over a bump in the highway and the Jeep started shaking violently, luckily no one around me and as I slowed to approx 40 mph it stopped. I pulled off to check everything. I had never heard of this so clearly I was very shook up. I have since called the dealer I bought it from and they are going to take a look next week. Very concerned about the safety!

Purchased new in July 2018. Currently has 5,800 miles traveled. I have experienced the severe "death wobble" three times. Once at 65mph when I hit a rough expansion joint in a bridge. The other two at roughly the same speed, and I hit bumps in the highway. In reading the problems other owners have experienced, I did try lowering air pressure in the tires. They were all inflated at the high end of their range for winter. I lowered each about 10% - and I have not had any wobbles since. This may be a coincidence obviously. What is bad about all this is that my wife will not drive the Jeep since she was a passenger during a death wobble. I do not feel any problems with alignment. I have not had the Jeep off road yet, so no stress on the suspension outside of normal driving conditions. And I have not even driven more than around the block in full 4 wheel drive.

Around 10,000 miles the 'death wobble' started. It happens almost daily. When driving on the highway between speeds of 55-75 the front end and steering wheel will violently shake. It will stop if I slow down significantly, which isn't always safe on the highway. While it happens only daily, it does not last long when it does happen. This never happened the first 10K miles, and now almost every day.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. After the vehicle was purchased brand new on September 23, 2018, the contact stated that the steering was malfunctioning and the vehicle would not remain centered while driving. The vehicle was taken to sterling Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (5504 I-49 frontage rd, opelousas, la 70570). The dealer test drove the vehicle, but it was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact went to another unknown dealer and they determined that the vehicle was out of alignment. The contact called the manufacturer and they stated that they were conducting an investigation. The failure mileage was 2,700.
