In cold weather <40, when at highway speeds, any time I try to change lanes to the left, the steering binds and barely moves. A few times it has suddenly 'let go', and with the force I was having to use to change lanes, all of a sudden makes the vehicle almost lose control.

Experiencing the death wobble while driving at high speeds and every bump or transition from highway to the overpass I get the wobble if I let off the gas it evens back out. I've also been experiencing some play in my steering wheel since I picked it up from the repair. I took it in for repair 12/12/18 (invoice 557959) and they replaced the steering damper. Had it back less than a month and the death wobble was back. Dropped it off 2 days ago just got a call and the steering damper is bad again and both tie rods are bad. It's less than a year old. I called back to have them check the track bar weld just in case since some have a recall on them.

When driving at highway speeds my steering has locked up or become difficult to turn. It becomes very stiff and very difficult to control. The last time it locked up it "broke loose" while trying to force it to maintain the lane and I almost over corrected into the turn at 60mph.

While vehicle is in motion, steering wheel will begin to "vibrate" and almost wobble out of control, you have to almost bring the car down to speed and back in control.

Steering feels loose and wanders at highway speeds. Had two alignments performed but did not fix the problem. Also when hitting a pothole or expansion joint at highway speeds, the steering wheel shakes violently and the car starts to wobble out of control. The only way to get control of the car is to brake and slow down.

Excessive / severe front wheel shake when hitting bumps, pot holes, etc. Front wheels, along with the steering wheel will shake severely when hitting bumps at highway speeds. Vehicle control is greatly impacted. Front wheels and steering wheel will not stop shaking until vehicle is nearly brought to a complete stop. Ability to keep control of the vehicle and stay within your lane requires extreme/extended braking at highway speeds. Vehicle has been service by an authorized Jeep service department. Jeep recommended part(s) were replaced but the problem still exists.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. Shortly after owning the vehicle, it experienced the "death wobble". hemet Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (240 carriage cir, hemet, ca 92545, (951) 225-4217)indicated that this was a normal condition and test drove the vehicle more than once. The vehicle was supposed to be repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 18V675000 (structure), but the dealer could not locate a failure and declined the repair. The contact later received another notice for the same recall campaign. The dealer indicated that they were waiting for the manufacturer's guidelines to service the vehicle. The contact had been waiting for the repair for weeks. The contact was provided a loaner vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was not available. Parts distribution disconnect.

I purchased a 2018 Jeep Wrangler (jl 4 door sahara) in August 2018. At speeds exceeding 55 mph the Jeep shakes uncontrollably making handling/steering close to impossible. I have to slow down to about 25 mph to gain control of the vehicle. This happens when I hit even a slight bump in the road. My Jeep has already been to dealership for a similar issue (recall on track bar frame bracket) and nothing was found. I have a $48,000 vehicle that I can't take on the highway. Currently less than 5000 miles on the Wrangler. Very dangerous!

After sitting outside overnight with ambient temperatures under 30 degrees. I was driving the Jeep on the highway and found that once I got above about 55 mph the steering would lock up. If I jerked it, it would bind and then break. Then once back at center it would start all over again.

Purchased the brand new 2018 Jeep Wrangler sahara with 40 miles on November 30, 2018. Currently, this vehicle has 1,975 miles. In late December 2018 hit a bump on a highway driving the posted speed of 70mph and the vehicle vibrated a bit and had to slow down to handle the vehicle. Each week after driving the vehicle on daily commute in city conditions at the posted speed of 25-30mph, after hitting a bump in the pavement the vehicle does not handle well, as if I would lose control. On January 27, 2019 driving on a ramp at the speed of 45mph upon entering the interstate the vehicle hit a bump in the pavement, the vehicle begins an uncontrollable vibration and was shaking the steering wheel, I had to pull over. After researching this issue online with the same issue, I feel unsafe driving my only vehicle. For a vehicle valued over $45,000, I need this issue to be investigated before someone is seriously injured. I do not feel safe driving on the interstate at the posted speed. The vehicle feels unstable while driving over any bump in the pavement at 20mph the vehicle wobbles and sways.

We are experiencing what others have referenced as the death vibration. When on the highway going over 55mph and the Jeep goes over a bump the steering wheel begins to shake and vibrate and does this until you slow down to below 30mph which is very scary and unsafe on the highway. The damper has been replaced 3 times but its still doing the same thing. I have video from my Jeep but there are hundreds of videos on the internet of other keeps that have the same issue.

Within the first week of receiving vehicle, I experienced a violent shaking of the steering wheel while traveling 60 mph on the highway, that almost caused me to run into the vehicle next to me. This occurred several times that day. After several occurrences, I realized it seemed to occur when hitting a bump. Called service department who reassured me this was not a safety issue ("?") and that they would replace the recalled track bar. Several weeks later, said track bar was replaced (they are on backorder). The vehicle continues to demonstrate this violent loss of steering control and at most recent inspection (after being told it can't still be happening), I was told they found "some play" in the drag link joint at pitman arm and part has been ordered. This weekend, the violent shaking occurred and would not stop for well over 30 seconds, even when I took my foot off accelerator and then hit the brake (on the higheay, next to a semi). I just took possession of this vehicle on November 29 and it only had 5000 miles (demo sold as new). Something needs to be done about this. It's happening in brand new, unmodified vehicles.

While driving on the freeway at approximately 65-70 mph I hit a bump on the road and the steering wheel began to violently wobble and it took a min to stop, the second time my husband and I were again driving on the freeway between 70-75 mph and again for no apparent reason the steering wheel started to violently wobble and was hard to regain control of it I feared I would cause a collision on the freeway, I had to slow down and try to get the steering under control. Because my husband had to go out of town, the Jeep was parked because of unsafe violent wobbling of the steering wheel until we were able to take it to crystal Chrysler dealership where we purchased it on November 30, 2018. The dealership has had the Jeep for a week and is still unable to diagnose the problem. At this point we are deathly afraid to drive it as we have no faith in the vehicle's safety for myself or for others on the road in the event that I cant control the violent shaking of the steering wheel.

While driving on the interstate highway at approximately 70 mph when going over pot holes or bumps like ones at bridge crossings the steering loses control and vibrates and shakes. The driver has no control of the steering you must slow down to approximately 45 mph to regain control of the vehicle. One incident on the highway happened when we were switching lanes on the interstate at approximately 70 mph the road condition was smooth and as we merged into the left lane the steering vibrated and shook and temporally did not have control of the vehicle in till we slowed down to approximately 45 mph. The dealership that I purchased the vehicle from has after several attempts to repair the vehicle claimed they fixed it. This is not the case it is still a problem

I am getting the death wobble in my 2018 Wrangler jlu, when on the highway. I've had the steering stabilizer replaced by my dealership with a new Jeep part. The problem is not fixed. There is still a lot of slop in the steering, and the death wobble is still happening at highway speeds. My vehicle has 4000 miles on it.

A small bump causes the steering wheel and front end of the car to violently shake. It happens at varying speeds, taking your foot off the accelerator or trying to break does not get it to stop, you ride it out.the wheels are shaking along with the steering wheel. In addition, the clock doesn't keep time and radio intermittently drops stations, scans through all of the stations or picks up static. I have a video of not being able to control the radio(on or off), unable to change the volume or shut the radio off. I was not able to use touch screen or the controls on the steering wheel in order to operate the radio. It has been brought in for service on for the shaking 3 times now, going on 4. Jeep says it's fixed the problem by replacing the steering stabilizer/dampener. Jeep knows it is happening and mentioned getting "Jeep engineering" involved and have blacked out information on paperwork we received after repairs, concerned we would see the "contact/ email address". the first service visit they could not get the shaking to happen and "reset the steering to factory settings", "that it was a little off." The second service appointment the service department "couldn't get it to happen". they had the salesperson I purchased the vehicle from take the car for a ride and compare it to how his jl drove. They asked if a worker "could take the car home and drive it a few days". I agreed.it happened to the worker and they replaced the steering stabilizer/dampener the first time(on that second visit). The third service appointment, they said the "steering stabilizer/dampener was replaced with a faulty stabilizer""that there were still faulty new ones, they were going to replace it. The following day, its violently shaking. It happens in motion, haven't noticed it with turning. I have videos of the shaking happening to the steering and the issues with the radio.
