My Jeep is very dangerous. The Jeep will only drive ok if you drive on a L newly paved and totally flat surface. - when you hit a bump there is an extended vibration, questionable handling characteristics and the car literally jumps lane and moves side to side without having any control over the vehicle. It happens every time I drive and repeatedly each time I drive. The Jeep also has the Jeep death wobble - the crazy vibration of the whole car. Both issues are worse at higher speeds but when it happens you have absolutely no control over the car.. the front end vibrations transition into the vehicle jumping lanes and movement that varies in severity due to speeds. It is very scary and very dangerous. I have brought the car to the dealer and both the dealership and Chrysler's special regional tech have confirmed this issue. It happens while in motion, on any street, at any speed, whether driving straight or turning - it happens all the time, at any moment with no notice. It happens every day you drive the car so hard but I put in todays date bc you asked for a date. It did happen today for Chrysler special regional tech too. It also happens at all speeds but is worse at higher speeds.
My car is shaking non stop after I hit a bump on the road, it can last up to 1 1/2minute non stop. Took into the dealer and was told after 1 wk that there was nothing wrong with it. I have under 5,000 miles on my car.
When driving the steering has play and must constantly correct to keep car going straight. Drifts and wanders, this is not a following the crown issue. Very noticeable at local speeds (20-40 mph) and driving constantly on a straight road
Loose steering, causes over correction at highway speeds. Suspect the lack of rigidity in the rubber bushings to be too soft, causing a half inch dead spot in the steering before the wheels adjust to the steering wheel input.

Lose steering. Can turn the steering wheel considerably without turning the wheels. This makes trying to drive straight exhausting and dangerous. Meeting or passing large rigs is especially dangerous.my dealership denys an issue.
At speeds over 70 mph when I hit a bump or seam in the road the steering whell vibrates violently as if something has disconnected. After about 10 seconds it stops. This has happened 3 times in 2 weeks. Vehicle only has 4K miles on it. Any speed over 65 causes a looseness in the wheel on uneven pavement even when not vibrating. After inspection dealer contacted Chrysler and they advised replacing steering damper. Dealer advised to drive with caution till the part came in but I asked for a loaner as it obviousy unsafe to drive.
Vehicle steering wheel completely locks up while driving on highway nearly causing an accident as you are unable to correct wheel for up to 10 seconds. While tsb 08-092-18 was issued 7 months ago this presents a significant possibility for accident and injury and should be recalled for anyone affected.
At a speed of approx. 75 mph after hitting a number of pumps/potholes on the highway the steering wheel started to vibrate/shake like crazy - a terrifying situation in rush hour on a highway. The shaking stopped once the speed was under 50 mph.
While driving at 40 mph the steering locked up and I could not turn. Applied brakes and additional pressure to steering wheel and was able to steer vehicle enough to avoid any collision, came to a stop and steering seemed to return to normal. This happened at about 9500 miles. This happened 1/19 was driving at 55 mph, and hit a dip in the road. The entire vehicle began to shake uncontrollably, went left of center, applied brakes and slowed vehicle down. Regained enough steering to return to my lane at about 10/15 mph. On coming traffic slowed to a stopped to assist in avoiding an accident. This happened at about 11000 miles. This happened 2/21/19
Steering is loose and vehicle wanders all over the road. Constant correction of the wheel is required to stay in lane. Most noticeable at highway speeds but is apparent at all speeds.
This evening while at highway speed (70mph) I crossed O er an overpass on a slight turn. Just after the overpass was a slight bump and my jl began shaking violently. I was certain that something had broken based upon how violently it ahook. I quickly pulled into the emergency lane and slowed to a stop. I visually inspected all tires and suspension components as best I could and saw no obvious damage/issue. I decided to attempt to continue slowly. I was able to make it to my destination and back home without further issues but needless to say I am very concerned about the safety of my jl. I had a great deal of difficulty controlling the vehicle during this episode. I will be contacting my Jeep dealership first thing in the morning. I love my jl but I am very concerned about its safety.
Going approximately 70 mph on the freeway my Jeep very suddenly began to shake/vibrate very violently. Extremely difficult to maintain control. Felt like the car was going to come apart/tires were going to fall off. After slowing down to maybe 30 mph the shaking resolved. Jeep has approximately 5800 miles on it.
Leased the Jeep Wrangler jl in October 2019. Within 3 weeks, the "Jeep wobble" occurred on the highway at a speed of 65 mph. Going over a bridge, the car hit a connector in road and started shaking violently. I was in the left lane and had to slow the car down immediately as it felt out of control, causing cars behind me to brake. I moved over a lane and the car stopped shaking once I slowed down below 50mph. I brought the car in to dealership and was told it's not under recall and it's not a safety issue. I completely disagree that it's not a safety issue as dodging cars on the highway in order to slow my car down while it shakes violently is clearly a safety issue for everyone on the road. The dealership installed a dampener. I finally got the car back after a week and within days, the same thing happened on the highway. I brought the car back in to the dealership where I was told they were contacting Chrysler to see if they installed the part correctly. My car was there for another week while they waited for Chrysler to return their phone call. They installed a stronger part, I was told and then finally had my car back. Within a couple of weeks, the wobble happened again. I dropped the car back at the dealership last week on 2/13 where it remains. I have not received word on what is being done at this point. Extremely frustrating as we are leasing this car and it's been at the dealership for almost 4 weeks total, which is one month payment without me even driving the car. We are looking into lemon law since this particular vehicle is not part of any recall. Again, this is a major safety concern for the driver and passengers in the car. I have 2 kids that travel with me in that Jeep and am never comfortable driving on the highway as I never know when that violent shake will happen.
The car tends to wander at highway speed( 65mph). When driving at highway speed I am constantly adjusting the steering to maintain lane. Most cars do this to some degree, but this vehicle does it to excess. I consider this a safety issue.
The steering is very loose and vehicle wanders all over. Problem is especially bad at highway speeds and requires constant input to remain straight. Steering wheel has about 2 inches of dead space so corrections are cumbersome. Steering will lock up at highways speeds and then suddenly release. This has happened 5 times and caused me to skid 2X and go off highway one.
When traveling above 70mph and hitting a rough place on the road the steering shakes violently including the dash until you slow down to 40mph. This has happened 6+ times now with the local deal ship not knowing how to fix. We were almost rear ended because of this. And thank goodness their wasn't an abandoned vehicle on the shoulder. We have a video of this happening
The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. While driving 45 mph over a dip in the road, the steering wheel shook uncontrollably. The vehicle veered into a pasture. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to benson Chrysler Plymouth and Dodge Inc (400 West wade hampton boulevard, greer, SC 29650, 864-877-0161) where it was diagnosed that the steering damper needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 58020235. The failure mileage was 6,458.
When hitting a bump at highway speeds the steering wheel shakes out of my hand. I have to slow down to get it to stop. Happens everyday when I go to and from work no matter what I do I can avoid the bumps for over passes.
Death wobble. I've been experiencing death wobble - especially driving over bridge connections - going highway speeds. MINIdeath wobble on bumpy paved roads. My 2018 jlu now has 25K - I've owned it for 9 months. It started a month or so ago- dealer replaced steering stabilizer. Still not fixed. Going back to dealer for the 2nd time on 2/19/19.
