Hey Everyone, we had the same problem..3 times..I worked for chrysler 12 years, and the 3rd window failed yesterday..Finally got fed up and called Chrysler..They said they would call me..Called my local dealer, and they are fixing 2 windows as we speak for free!!

Chrysler is coming out with a customer satisfaction recall on this issue..BTW Chrysler Corp just called me, and verified they would fix the problem for free. Call your dealer before you spend any money!!

Bought my Liberty about a year ago and LOVE it - except... I'd had the vehicle about 3 months before the rear drivers side window fell into the door going over a speed bump in the Walmart parking lot. I looked on the internet and found this site, got the number for Chrysler Customer Care and called and filed a claim. They ended up having me pay a $50 "deductible" to cover the diagnostic cost (which I thought was stupid because they OBVIOUSLY know what the problem is and its a MANUFACTURER DEFECT...but better than paying $500 for the full price)

Anyways, went out to my car this morning and noticed the passenger side rear window was half-way down. Tried to roll it up - grinding noise and it slid back down into the door all the way. Drove to the same stealership that replaced my window before, they said Chrysler is now charging $150 "deductible" for these repairs. I'm pissed.

I'm very disssapointed that a brand name like Jeep, which is legendary for its toughness and durability, designed to drive up mountains and through rivers, has the glass fall out going over a speed bump.

Update from Aug 2, 2010: Update: the "redesigned" regulator I just had replaced 8 months ago just broke again. That makes three in the last 8 months. I'm gonna trade this lemon and let someone else deal with the windows falling out of it. So much for "Trail Rated".

What is it with the "warranty" for Jeeps? I had two windows fixed at the end of the 40,000 mile warranty period, and shortly thereafter yet another regulator fails. Jeep's solution-spend 400.00, (actual quote from Hinckley Dodge) to install the new and improved version. Hey Jeep I have an idea-Stand Behind Your Failed Design. I mean really, was it designed to last only 40k miles? And you used plastic-nice

2007 jeep liberty rear window regulator has failed for no apparent reason. It is never used and warranty expired 2 weeks ago and Jeep dealership has refused to fix free of charge had to order part at 270.00. Very, Very unhappy with jeeps response to this and definitely will make an impact on whether we buy another jeep or not. I like to be able to trust my dealer and it has been proven I can't. What a shame, please notice we have less than 33,000 miles on this auto. The dealership told us that jeep will not allow anymore good will service if the warranty has just expired like ours has...SHAME on you Jeep

Replaced front driver regulator under warranty. Began to fail again, with window rolling up crooked. Then rear driver regulator failed. Labor fixed front regulator, replaced rear regulator and had to purchase glass not covered under extended warranty. Yesterday, rear PASSENGER regulator failed. Glass currently in door. Called Chrysler complaint line and have an open case number, they appeared optimistic that I would be reimbursed for the first two repairs and cover the third.

WINDOWS AND WINDSHIELDS DEFINITELY HAVE A PROBLEM. WHILE UNDER WARRANTY THE DRIVER WINDOW WENT OFF THE TRACK AND WOULD NOT CLOSE. SENT TO DEALER THEY REPLACED TRACK. 2 WEEKS LATER WINDOW DID NOT SEAL AND VERY NOISY AIRY SOUND. DEALER ORDERED NEW TRACK. SEEMS TO BE FINE NOW. DRIVING ON HIGHWAY WITH REAR DRIVER WINDOW OPENED - CLOSED IT BROKEN THE LINKAGE. VEHICLE OFF WARRANTY. TOLD HAS TO REPLACE ENTIRE WINDOW BECAUSE THEY HAVE CHANGED - AND THE COST WOULD BE $ 800.00. HAD THEM JAM IT UP SO NOW IT DOES NOT OPEN OR CLOSE. REAR WINDSHIELD, REPLACED TWICE. ONCE DUE TO MALFUNCTIONING HEATER ELEMENTS AND NEXT BECAUSE IT SHATTERED FOR NO REASON. I PARKED IN THE GARAGE COMING HOME FROM WORK THE NEXT MORNING OPENED THE GARAGE DOOR AND IT WAS IN A MILLION PIECES ....... NO REASON - WAS NOT HIT, NOR WAS IT FROM HOT TO COLD. MY HUSBAND THOUGHT A BULLET HAS GONE THROUGH OUR GARAGE DOOR !!!! NEXT WAS THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. CRACKED - MAYBE A STONE CHIP, DON'T RECALL AS I DON'T REMEMBER ONE HITTING THE VEHICLE. WAS HOPING TO GET A "CHEAP" FIX, BUT IT JUST KEEP ON CRACKING OVER A DAY OR TWO PERIOD.

WENT TO UNDO MY PASSENGER BACK WINDOW THE OTHER MORNING BECAUSE IT WAS DEWY AND LIKE TO SEE WHERE I AM BACKING UP TO AND HAD A PROBLEM GETTING THE WINDOW BACK UP. I KEPT WORKING ON THE ELECTRIC BUTTON AND FINALLY IT WENT UP, BUT NOW I CAN'T OPEN THIS WINDOW WITH FEAR OF IT NOT GOING UP AGAIN.

THESE VEHICLES SHOULD HAVE A WINDOW RECALL.

THE TRANSMISSION (I HAVE A 3.7 AUTOMATIC) ALWAYS CLUNKS. I HAD THE DEALERSHIP CHECK IT OUT, LOOKING AT THE U JOINTS OR SOMETHING AND SAID EVERYTHING IS FINE - THAT WAS WENT IT WAS STILL ON WARRANTY ..... STILL CLUNKS - BUT ONLY AT LOW SPEEDS.

ALSO DRIVER LEATHER SEAT CRACKED AT JUST OVER 60,000 KM - OFF WARRANTY. MY SON HAS A CAR WITH OVER 200,000 AND THE SEATS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.

WOULD NOT BE ANOTHER JEEP

the first three times it was covered, the last time was a week after warranty. i called my local dealer for an estimate several times, and since then the last window that they repaired has broken again. now i am investing in the 3m Jeep Repair Solution- about 8 strips of 3m packing tape holding up each window, i wish i could sue!!! I have always loved Jeep until now.

I bought the Jeep 5 months ago, still under warrantee and a window on passenger side dropped, while I had guests in town. Very inconvenient, but covered. Then a week ago the back, driver side window fell. My first dealership said they usually replace all four. This time it cost me $500.00 because they said they had to replace the motor and the GLASS! What? I understand a motor going out, but how do you put in the wrong glass? I plan on contacting Jeep to complain, we will see. These windows should be a recall.

I'm on my way to work today and I hear a howling wind coming from behind- My rear window is half way down and of course I can't get it to go up. Once I stop, I pull it up by hand, but it only stays up while I'm parked. It was a sucky ride home and to make matters worse it's going to rain today. This is the 8th time something happens to my windows. I have had nothing but problems with my window regulators since I purchased this vehicle. My driver's side window alone has been fixed 6 times.

Jeep created a new model of regulator to replace the DEFECTIVE one, that they haven't recalled by the way, however the new model is not compatible with the existing window glass! Does this make any sense? Not only are they inconveniencing their consumers with the need to replace a bad part, but you must also replace the perfectly good window glass that remains in order to have a functioning window system. Did I mention the window is tinted...add it to the list.

this is the second window to have a problem. Less than a year ago the back passenger window kept falling down and luckily it was covered under warranty and the regulator was replaced. It is 9 months later and now the back driver's side window has dropped and will not stay up. The vehicle is just over the 3 year warranty but only has 1356 miles, yes, only 1356 miles and now this window will not be covered under warranty. Someone needs to step in and get Chrysler to repair or repay people for their expenses as there are so many complaints out there about this problem that it has to be something defective which should be covered by Chrysler!

My daughter and I bought this used vehicle in February. In 2 months after purchase the left rear window fails. Thirty days later the right rear fails and I am afraid the right front is next. My daughter finds out from a customer at the Martinsburg, WV that all 4 of their Jeep Liberty windows have failed at a cost of $500 a pop. How can Chrysler ignore this problem? Next time they are looking for a handout tell them to shove it.

Update from May 11, 2010: I just want to give compliments to my dealer, Douglas Motors of Hancock, MD. They have replaced the regulators at no charge. This is a great dealership and they have been more than generous.

I'm not sure which Engineer I should geld with a rusty butter knife (if you know his name email me please) but whom ever he is, what an absolute mindless 4 year wonder! And he was paid for this engineering? By whom? The competition?

7 regulators in under 3 years? Come on!

So far all through warranty... at $300.00 a pop, this better be the end of the issue.

I join the crowd of folks having the same problem. Rolled the right passenger side window down to get some fresh air, then when I tried to roll it back up, I heard a "pop" and then a bad grinding sound. The window was stuck and wouldn't go back up. It actually fell into the door a little more. I'm going to try to wedge it back up as much as possible, but it will need to be replaced. I have an extended warranty that is supposed to replace it, but we shall see. What a pain in the butt! I'm the 2nd owner and have had the thing for 3k miles.
