1ST THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WENT DOWN, THAN THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE, AND THAN THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE. SO PRESENTLY I CAN ONLY LOWER THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW, AND THAT ONE SEEMS TO BE WORKING IN A GRINDING WAY, INDICATING THAT IT TOO IS ABOUT TO FALL INTO THE DOOR SLEEVE.

First off, there is no AC working at all in my Jeep. All 3 windows cannot roll down. It started 2 years ago with driver side going off track.. To roll it up, you had put your hand on the window to make sure it was on track.

About a year later it all started falling apart.. The first window to completely go off track was the passenger front window. It just slid all the way down inside the door. Around 4-5 months later, the back passenger window did the exact same thing while driving down the road with my kids in the back seat and it was pouring rain! Then, finally just a month ago, my driver side went off track. So we have little objects in the window to keep it from going all the way down in the door again. Of course every few days it will slowly slide down. I have only one window that is able to roll down.

I do not have hundreds of dollars to have this fixed. There are other issues going on with my Jeep. This is my second one. I have to say this one is by far the worst jeep I have owned. I seen there is a recall. If I can get a letter stating that your company will pay for the services, I would very much appreciate having windows that are able to roll down again. Thanks for your time.

I purchases my 2007 jeep liberty used in 2009 and had the passenger rear regulator replaced in 2011 at the cost of almost $500.00 for parts and labor now I'm dealing with the driver side rear window 3/2/2013, which is two yrs later, and I'm not quite sure if it will cost the same price or higher..I have never received a recall letter, nor did I know anything about this problem with this vehicle until I was slapped in the face with the whopping cost!!..I'm also dealing with the rear passenger door refusing to open, this problem just occurred on 3/2/2013..SO FRUSTRATING..UGHHHHH!!..

This was the second failure of the rear driveside window regulator of my 2007 Jeep Liberty. I purchased the vehicle in 2007, but the window failed in 2008 in warranty. The dealer changed the regulator, the glass and the rubber guides. But it failed again in July, 2012, which was exact same problem. The dealer had an inspection and found the regulator has broken. I asked them why the regulators have so short life, they said that the regulator has design problem, they just changed the part but don't make the part. They let me talk to Chrysler about the part problem. I contacted with Chrysler Canada, but they told me that my vehicle has an extend warranty but not cover the regulator. So far, I have not fixed the problem because that I am worry about it will break again if it is part problem. I tried to talk some technical persons in Chrysler about the regulator problem, but I could not find any contact information, if someone knows that, please email me.

I went to put down the driver's window and accidentally hit the switch for the back seat window on the driver's side. The window made a funny noise and did not go down. I drove to work and parked my car. When I returned to my car after work the same window was all the way down. I attempted to put it up with the switch and it made the same funny noise. I taped the window up with cardboard because it just happened today. I work 7am-7pm, it just happened today, and I work tomorrow and the next day. So I plan to solve this problem correctly on my first day off. I am hoping I can get reimbursed by chrysler because this seems to be an ongoing problem based on the blogs I've read.

I have owned my 2007 Jeep Liberty since 2008 and since then I have replaced all 4 of the windows. The first 2 times it was covered and I only had to pay $100.00 each to have them repaired. The 3rd and 4th time, the manufacturer changed the regulator and the window had to be replaced. It costs me $200.00 each since the glass was not covered under the warranty. In 2010 the rear driver window fell and I have had it propped up with rubber toilet shims, purchased from Lowe's. I did not want to pay another $200.00 to get it fixed, I'm cheap. Today, August 29th 2012, and completely out of any warranty the front passenger fell. From reading all the post here, I am like everyone else...screwed. And, I will never buy another Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge...etc. Too bad really because I owned a Chrysler Cirrus for years and never had any issue with it.

My question is this, has anyone tried to have another place like Safelite or whatever, fix it and maybe they warranty it? Because all the times that I took it to be fixed at my dealer, and I asked if they warranty their work, they just laughed at me. This should have been a recall.

Took jeep to Honda dealer where it and warranty were purchased. Told by honda not covered. Felt misled by honda for warranty purchase too. Jeep said to bring it to them and pay honda diagnostic fee. The day it tore up, I heard thunder and looked out for rain. Realized window was gone. Had to get in storm to keep interior from getting ruined, to move jeep under garage. Had to interrupt my work and my husband's to drive jeep all over the place. We'll see what jeep dealer does about repair. After reading all the complaints, I have no faith that the problem will be permanently remedied. I think jeep should pay honda the diagnostic fee. Tooo much circle jerking with this problem. Should be compensation for intentional disregard for hundreds of consumers who have had repeated malfunctions and repairs. I suppose if the ones responsible for this problem had to be put in the same position with loss of wages or vehicle use, or fear of loss of property they may be more sympathetic to solve the problem. Not fun to ride in horribly hot or cold weather with window hiding in the door. Chrysler we would buy a real car and a real window if we had our own bail out money back!!!! Had I know this was a problem, would not have purchased for my daughter. She is not safe from strangers with a locked door and no window.

I purchased the Jeep Liberty with only 16 miles on it in July 2007. Officially this is the 8th time the windows have failed. Three times each of the back windows and one each on the front windows. Whenever the weather changes from hot to cold weather the plastic parts fail and the window drops down into the door while either parked or driving. I do not use the windows at all but they still break. I am negotiating with Chrysler as I write this complaint as I want them to not only fix the window but use an assembly that will not break. Even though I have the "service advisory" for the lift plate to be repaired free of charge to me I am tired of them putting in the same part they already know and have acknowledged will fail again. I hate the fact that I was talked into buying "american". Every time a window fails I have to take time off work and rent a car while the repair is in progress. One of the eight times I was on vacation and had to lose 2 days to get the car window up and fixed so I could drive home on the freeway....a safety hazard not to mention my belongings were stolen while the car was parked overnight. The "fine point" of regular vs. lift plate sucks as far as coverage. Never ever had any windows on a car break on their own and eight times is way over the top of "tolerable"...I'm planning on selling the car without telling the new owner and feel like I'd be a cheat not disclosing the real reason to sell the car. Jeep needs to get a replacement assembly for all 2007 Liberty cars that will not break...RECALL NOT A SERVICE ADVISORY!!!

BOUGHT THE 07 LIBERTY USED HAD IT 3 MOS AND THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW FELL DOWN IN THE DEAD OF WINTER IN ND [-15 DEGREES WITHOUT WIND CHILL] HAD TO TAKE DOOR PANEL OFF AND PULL WINDOW BACK IN PLACE THEN USED SPRAY FOAM TO HOLD IT. 4 MOS LATER THE PASS SIDE WINDOW FELL HALF WAY DOWN. I CANT BELEIVE THEY HAVE NOT RECALLED THIS AS IT IS AN OBVIOUS DEFECT WITH SO MANY JEEPS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER OR JEEP VEHICLE AGAIN. THEY MAKE DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS AND WILL RARELY STAND BEHIND THEM.

Called Chrysler Jan 9 to report problem before diagnoses; although, I was aware before purchasing used in Oct 2011. Previous owner had no issues. Customer service was useless as I stated regulator and rep came back with "there are no known issues for this". I was incredulous as it was apparent from googling (which I suggested rep try). I asked to speak to supervisor but was told 'supervisor doesn't take calls'. Then I asked how to escalate my complaint and was told I couldn't as this was a far as it would go. I then went to website to register complaint and mentioned that US covered with extended warranty. Received reply on Jan 10 explaining that extended warranty covered Power Window Lift but I had said regulator. Took in to dealership and got call back saying regulator (ie motor with wire) that is not covered and will cost me $230 CDN tomorrow. If this is a well known/documented issue, why is it not covered?

Update from Apr 20, 2014: So a year later and another window goes ... how is this not known to the powers that be????

I purchased my Liberty new in 2007 and as of 8/29/11 I have had the window fall into the door for a 7th time! had problems the day I left the dealership but they said it just needed grease. had a window fall intot he door without warning at tjhe start of a snowy ski day in the mountains with the car parked along a roadside. Try driving 65 mph in 25 degree wetaher with an open window! Driver's side window has failed 2x (6/07, 5/10, Rear driver's side has failed for the 3rd time (9/07, 8/10, 8/11), and each other window only once (9/09, 6/10), but I'm confident this isn't over. First the regulator motor was replaced (witht he same faulty plastic parts). Then the entire window glass needed to be replaced, but apparently the faulty parts were not redesigned yet in 5/2010. In 8/2010 I had another window fall into the door and that is the same repaired window that has failed a year later. I admit once I found these forums and called Chrysler Customer Service they reimbursed me for all prior repairs and covered the new repairs without chariign me a deductible or single cent. BUT, this is a HUGE inconveneince. May not be a significant safety concern, but no one is paying to have the interior of my car cleaned when it gets soaked or have anything replaced that is stolen form my car becuase I can't secure it with an open window. And no one is covering me for lost time out of work will I'm screwing around with the dealerships. I had a window repaired in June and now they are saying it's not the regulator motor, but some other part and the warranty on this has been extended until 2013.

Is this latest type of repair in 2011 going to be correct? If so I'll have 2 more windows yet to recieve the correct repair parts. Unbelieveable!! 7 TIMES!!!!

On my 2007 Liberty, the window on the drivers side window keeps falling, grinding, does not work and I have to tape it up with duct tape !!!!! I got an extended warranty from Chrysler on this problem and my vehicle was covered -- however, when I went to the dealer, he said -- I will have to inspect and you will have pay $200 if it not the exact part they have extended the warranty for -- something called a window regulator -- how would I know -- I know the window does not work and now I have to pay just to see if it is the problem -- I say fix this window under warranty -- and got on with it. I have written many letters to Chrysler about this problem, I have my extended warranty from Chrysler, but they refuse to pay to have to problem looked into. The What can I do now ? I have an extended warranty that is not of any use - really -- I have to pay to find the problem -- as I read the posts and talk to other unfortunate Jeep owners, they all have the same window problem -- cost to fix is around $500 -- so, what is the next step -- duct taping a new 2007 Liberty is not the answer for me -- I have owned 6 new Chrysler products, but this is the last, considering the way I am being treated. My wife says -- just fix the damn thing , bite the bullet -- I say no and I plan to fight it. I think my next step is to go to the Chrysler dealer, have them inspect and just hope they agree that it is the window regulators, as named in the warranty -- what do you think ?? Do I have any other choice? Thanks for you input -- Chrysler -- what a piece of junk company and believe me, if I have to pay, I will get alot of negative advertising for Chrysler over the next years. I am fed up and how you can make some suggestion -- what now ? MacAulay

Update from Dec 6, 2011: I went to another Chrysler Dealer and he said - yes, this is a very common problem and it is covered under warranty - he said - what the hell does Chrysler think is in the door panel, other then the window regularator ? Of course that is the problem -- book it in and we will order the parts and fix it -- period!! I took it in a week later, and within 2 hours, the new stuff was in and the window was running again -- so simple, but Chrysler was trying to save a buck -- instead that got a ton of bad PR and one less customer for any Chrysler ;product -- don't trust this company anymore!! After having to duct tape the window up and run it taped for over 2 months, I had a new window -- but, that duct tape glue is hard to remove -- I got several suggestions, -- vinegar and h20, nothing worked, just made the window more of a mess -- finally a clerk in the local hardware store said -- try some

" Goof Off" -- so I bought the container -- and it was great -- removed the glue in one wipe with the rag with a little of the goof off on it --- great product if you have this problem as well -- so, my problem is solved -- thanks for all the help !!!!! MacAulay

I had my Jeep all packed up to move to a new home. All of my electronics were packed in the back. The drivers side back seat window inconveniently slid down and wouldn't go back up. Naturally, it was raining...and raining in on my TV, laptop, DVD player. I tried taping it up; stuffing stuff between the glass and the rubber seals....with no success.

Eventually, my brother in law zip tied the window shut...not it won't open OR close....but at least it won't fall down!

While driving to a movie theater with a friend, on the chilliest night in November to date.....the drivers side front seat window fell down. As before, with my back window, no amount of coaxing would keep it in place....I shoved a magazine between the glass and the seal, to hold it at least partially shut. This screams "I am broken" to potential thieves!!! There is no way to properly secure your vehicle when the windows won't stay shut!! After reading about all of the problems that other Jeep Liberty owners have had with their window regulators, again...I again had my brother in law zip tie this window shut as well. I don't have the cash to pay Jeep $300+ to fix a problem that they are aware of and repeatedly occurs.
