We have had many many problems with each of our 4 windows falling down at least once or twice. We have had an extended warranty which will be expiring July 4th however Chrysler has "agreed" to fix each window for $50 each and it's a one time offer... imagine, their faulty design and they are doing me a favor to fix their problem. I think what we need to do is file a class action suit to have them fix wht they should have fixed a long time ago. Don't want to do that but sometimes there is no other option left. BTW I will be fixing this one window, (again) out of my pocket and it happens again I will do what I have to do.

THIS IS NUMBER 4 FOR US. ITJUST NOT A LITTLE INCONVENIENCE FOR MY WIFE. THEY SEEM TO FAIL IN THE WINTER WHEN IT IS SNOWING. THE LAST TIME IT FAILED WHEN MY WIFE WAS AT WORK AND GEE THE STEREO CAME UP MISSING. HOW CAN SOMETHING WEAR OUT WHEN YOU NEVER USE IT.

CHRYSLER, JEEP SHOULD HAVE FIXED THIS WHEN THEY FIRST KNEW ABOUT IT. WHEN WEIGHING THE ODDS OF FIX THE PROBLEM OR TO LOSE BUYING CUSTOMERS. I SEE WHAT PATH THEY TOOK. BAD CHOICE. ANOTHER BLACK EYE FOR THE AMERICAN AUTO MAKER.

I bought a 2006 Jeep Liberty for my daughter in 2006 as a graduation gift. Within 2 months the back drivers side window fell in....took in and they fixed the regulator which was under warranty. Last year, the back passenger side window did the same. The dealership said the warranty was extended for this problem and fixed it with a $100 deductible. Now tonight, she went to her car after work and once again the drivers side back window has fallen and a huge storm is expected tonight. My daughter is in a different city, by herself and had to have the window covered with plastic and duck taped. The dealership was called right before closing and they said due to the mileage (52000) it probably would be covered and she's looking at roughly $500. What the hell...obviously there is a problem with these regulators so why doesn't Chrysler step up to the plate and do whats right. Oh and by the way, the service guy told me in his own words that the parts used on these vehicles were "crap"....

I was sold a 2006 Jeep Liberty in April 2006. Starting in June of 2006 I have had to bring it in to get the windows (all windows at least once, some windows THREE times) fixed. Each time I was told they were fixed and it would no longer be an issue. I paid for each of these repairs. I have since moved to California and the windows continue to malfunction. Jeep Corporation has said the car is not a lemon and they have now extended a warrantee to Jeep owners to cover window repairs for one more year as they realize the error is theirs. Between their admission of guilt and the fact that they have not and cannot fix my Jeep, I feel they are guilty of breaking the lemon law and should compensate me for what is now a worthless car (if I were to attempt to sell my car, any buyer can see on Carfax and in my records that the car is in the dealership every 8 to 10 months for a broken window mechanism). To add insult to injury they said they would "review" my case to see if I was eliglible to receive a refund on all the times I had to pay ($50 each time with my warrantee) to get it fixed!

Got the letter from Jeep that they were extending the warranty on this issue for 7 years - when i called service to check into this i was asked for my vin and was told that my car year was made 3 months prior to the date of the model year for the repair to be at N/C and covered under this warranty. This is not stated in the letter - it just states model years of 2006-2007

The cost to fix these windows is about $400 each. I have had these replaced in the past several times and now I am told my jeep was made prior to the cut off for 2006!

I'll agree with another poster that the Jeep Liberty should come with a free roll of tape - so you can tape your windows up! My college student has been driving the car in a cold climate and when the windows drop, it's so annoying! Chrysler basically doesn't care and refuses to repair the windows. They've dropped so many times that we've lost count. The dealership she goes to doesn't care if she's in college and can't get to class without her car and they've taken so long to repair it that finally my husband drives up there (nine hours) to deal with it. He even pays for the repair, thinking that a new assembly would forever fix the problem. Wrong! So I'm looking at the forecast, hoping it doesn't rain until we can buy more tape! Let's hire a lawyer and make them stand behind their product! Email me at mayramalone@gmail.com and let's get it started!

Both my back windows started falling down for no reason about a year ago. I later found out that I was not the only Jeep Liberty owner who was having this problem. I then received a letter in the mail from the dealership stating that they would replace the window regulator (recall). The back windows are fixed (for now) but just the other day my front right window fell down!! I was on my way to the movies and had to turn around and call it a day until I could find some tape that would hold it up and not melt in this 90 degree weather!!!!!! Totally sucks!

bought a 2006 jeep liberty, noticed soon after window falls down and don't work, I see on this site that is a common occurrence, took to a shop(not dealer) to have window permanently put in the up position, turns out jeep is honoring an extended warranty on the part now because of so many problems. it is at shop as I write this will let you know if it is truly fixed and for free as they claim.

Update from May 5, 2011: jeep dealer fixed it for free I believe they are fixing for free for 7yrs after purchase

Bought the vehicle in 2007, not long after having the damn thing the window on the passenger side falls down. Of course warranty fixed it. About 6 months later the back window on passenger falls down, it was fixed at no charge, now the back window on the driver's side is being held up with a wedge and the driver's side come down crooked and you have to straighten it up with you hand.

This is ridiculous, you pay alot of money for a vehicle and still get a piece of crap. Why are the windows not on recall.

Driving home from work and the rear passenger window (behind the driver side) fell down about 4 inches. I knew what it was since last month (Oct 1st) the other side broke (right side). Took it to the dealership and had it fixed. I just bought the Jeep August of 2010.

I did call 1-800-992-1997 Chrysler complaint line and was given a case number and told a case manager would call me tomorrow by 8pm!!! I need it fixed now. Rain is expected tonight and continue through tomorrow. This is my only means of transportation. I can not believe the number of complaints concerning this issue and what is scary is this is a trend!!! An ongoing issue, I want to dump this thing and not be worried of this happening over and over again. I will update this complaint and let everyone know how fast or slow this problem is taken care of. I wish I had googled about this Jeep before I had gotten it, because I would not have this problem. No buy no issue!!!!!!!!!

Update from Mar 22, 2011: Chrysler has extended the warrenty on this issue until 2013. 3 weeks after I first issued this complaint my window was finally fixed! I did get jerked around by the Jeep rep.actually there were a few involved. Hopefully there are no more issues.

This is the first American car I have ever bought, I kind of got railroaded into it after the truck I bought from Ron Carter in Alvin turned out to be a lemon. so I ended up with this Jeep Liberty 06, one day I was at Walmart bout to get out of my Jeep as I opened the door the entire inside door panel of the driver door literally feel to the ground. That has never happened to me even when I use to have some old jalopies when I was a kid. It was so embarrassing. I had to get out of the jeep and pick it up and throw it in the back seat to see if my son could rig it somehow so it would stay in place. Then my drivers inside door handle the half dome cup where you place your hand to open the door from the inside broke-- the dome part- they said they don't sell the half dome part I would have to buy a whole new inside door panel just to get the half dome part which would run me $400 not including labor. Then earlier this week my rear passenger window fell- no reason - it just fell. Amen for sons', my son put suction cups to hold up the window tape is to messy. It worked, phoned Ron Carter and they are suppose to fix the window today-- supposedly. I work at a prison so you can't have any type of security breach on you vehicles in case an inmate should try to escape in your vehicle. So if my son didn't rig my window the way he did I would have had to stay home the entire week till it got fixed. Who an afford to do that right after Christmas?? My point is right after another, my Jeep is falling apart when I use to have a Toyota or Honda I never experienced any of these problems. Oh yeah one more thing Jeep gives you the feeling like it could climb rough terrain and no problems, WRONG ANSWER, a couple of years ago we had a hurricane go through here that left a lot of standing water, well I still had to go to work. To make a long story short, I went through the water thinking I made a wide enough turn to miss the curb, miscalculated I accidentally hit the curb going 1 mile per hour and it cracked my rear drivers rim which ripped my tire. Now tell me if I can get all that damage from hopping a curb how in the hell would my Jeep survive rough terrrain? Their answer was I was either going to fast or i had cheap tires on there. Well the cheap tires were the ones that were on my Jeep when I purchased it from them. So what does that tell you??

This has now happened to 3 of the 4 windows on this vehicle, and there is no recall! It is just the plastic clip that holds the window to the regulator that breaks, but Chrysler doesn't sell just the clip, you have to replace the regulator. It was 4 below the most recent time this happened! ! Not an extremely expensive problem (about $150/time) but a huge inconvenience. It makes me mad that it has happened to 3 of 4 windows and they won't put out a recall.Time to trade this vehicle off for something not made by Chrysler
