Like everyone else I have been screwed! I bought a 2006 Liberty Aug 26 and was given a 3month/ 3,000 mile warranty. I immediately noticed the drivers back window making noise when lowering. I emailed the sales lady and told her of the issue. She said get it into the service dept. I bought my jeep in another town an hour a way because of the deal. If I had only known why I was getting the deal! Last week the window finally went capooie! I called to set an appt and took it in. They said that it was the lift plate and it was not under warranty. The warranty only covered the motor and the track and the lift plate was not included in either one. I was hot!!! To put it politely. I mentioned a lawyer and they said go ahead I dare you. Oh I lost it and said a few choice words that can not be repeated. I do not cuss but I made an acception for them. I am calling the 888 number listed above something needs to be done. What is so irritating is that the dealer had to know about these issues and yet they still refuse to do any thing. This is my first jeep. My husband and I always stuck with Chev always had good vehicles with no issues. Now we bought this jeep and it was the worst mistake we have ever made. The lady at the NHTSA said that if there are other complaints like mine and they feel it is a safety issue (Which in my case it is I transport young children every day from school and some of the kids are NOT mine.) They will do an investigation and issue a recall. So all of you out there who have not called need to call. Together we can make change happen. If we do not stick together and stand up to the auto maker then we will have to suffer the consequences of our in-action forever or at least as long as you own your vehicle. Then all you will be doing is passing your burden on to the next guy. Which is what happened to me and it feels awful! Here is the number in case you can't find it 888-327-4236. Good luck!

I got online to see if there was a recall because now both my back windows (that I never use) have fallen into the door........to my unbelievable dissbelief there is no recall just a bunch of people complaining that there windows did the same thing....you have GOT to be f' ing kidding me...I can barely afford my Jeep "payment" in this economy and now I have to pay to get my windows UP???? WTF you would think a company would stand behind every defect in thier product not just the safety issue ones. I used to love my Liberty I am beginning to be very dissapointed in it.......

I bought a used 2006 jeep liberty a year ago I love this car but a month after buying it my rear window went down and i was unable to get it back up. At the time it was still under warranty so it was fixed for free. A year later the same thing happened to another rear window in the car.

i am very dissapointed in jeep for not having a recall for this particular problem. i have read several complaints about this. i am planning on calling them today to try and get them to fix it or give me a reimbursment for the price

This was the my third time having this problem with my Jeep's windows and I was really angry. I decided to search online to see if this was a common problem and sure enough there were hundreds if not thousands of angry Jeep owners reporting the same problem. Fed up with this problem and angry about having to pay for another repair, I sent a letter to Chrysler's headquarters and am waiting to see what - if any- response I get. I will never again buy one of their crappy vehicles and am telling all my friends and relatives about this ordeal. It makes no sense to have repeated mechanical problems on a car that is only 4 years old! I also own a 2000 Toyota Corolla that has never given me any problems. Chrysler really needs to issue a recall and foot the bill for these repairs.

The passenger side window dropped completely, which I had to fix. Previously the rear driver's side window partially dropped and I have not fixed it, I've been driving around with it open 3 inches. I am returning the vehicle to Chrysler next week and I absolutely refuse to pay for their faulty manufacture of the window.

This is the second time the same rear driver side window will not stay up. 14 months ago this happened. I returned to dealership today and they said warranty is expired, good only under 12,000 mile or 12 months. Vehicle was in the dealership 14 months ago with 44,000 mile on vehicle. Last time service was 29,000 miles. I never use the rear windows and by mistake touched the rear window button and then it malfunctioned. Dealership said sorry and laughed. I felt insulted and feel this happens too many times and Chrysler needs to take care of problems. If no satisfaction in repair for the second time I will sale vehicle and never buy another Chrysler. A recall needs to be made. Dealership says this happens frequently.

Update from Aug 11, 2011: Well 3rd time same rear window just fell down while driving with no one in the vehicle but me. Sad to say I have the same problem with no help from Chrysler Service. Vehicle has 53200 miles on it now. I had the other side rear window fall down a few days later and the duct tape sure doesn't hold up well under 90-100 degree weather. I was told by dealership to try and call Chrysler service for help on this due to third time of same window falling without any one using the windows. Chrysler service, said they may be aip at 8 amble to help in regards to me paying $100. for the third time. Chrysler Service Manager Henry, saw the other two times in for the same problem and before he could help he would have to see what dealership claim is. I gave him the dealership contact info and said I would be there on Monday the 8th of August, 2011 at 8a.m.. I went to dealership at 8 a.m. and about 12:30 noon the dealership manager told me he called Chrysler Service Manager Henry twice and told him I was waiting there and they wanted to know who was going to pay for repair? I told dealership manager I would pay my insurance copay and go on and hopefully Chrysler will reimburse the former and present cost back to me. I ask dealership to show me old and new parts to make sure they did not put old junk defective part back into vehicle. When vehicle was done I ask to see parts but was told they already installed them and forgot to show me the new and the old. Manager showed me the old part which is a plastic lift plate. I ask him if he had a new part in stock the kind that was installed and he said no they had no more in stock. I guess I will know how well it work about a year from now.
Vehicle was taken into dealership on Monday and on Thursday I still had no return calls from Henry in Chrysler Customer Service. I called to speak to his supervisor because he never communicated back to me as to what they can do. Another Chrysler Customer Service Manager defended him and said he doesn't know my schedule. I insisted on speaking with sup. and she told me they were all busy and could call me back within the hour. 10 minutes later Henry calls from Chrysler Customer Service and says there's nothing they can do. He said a copay is just what it is and they do not pay my deductible for defective parts and labor. He could have told me this when I first called him. Chrysler Customer Service is a JOKE!
I ask one Chrysler Customer Service Manager if they were Chrysler or if they were a contracted company. She respond she did not know. My guess is Chrysler Customer Service is just a call center. Due to lack of communication from Chrysler and those who are in the business of service, I will no longer buy Chrysler and I will not recommend no business to Chrysler. Bad business from all points on my Chrysler Jeep windows. This could have easily been resolved and communication could have saved Chrysler.
I will also check into lemon laws as they apply and will contact other Chrysler Corp. in regards to very poor help and service. Jeep Liberty 2006 here for sale.

Driving a few days ago and driver rear window fell into door. This is the 7th time this has happened in the 3 1/2 years I have had this vehicle and I only have 31K miles on it! First 5 times it was under warranty. 6th time it was just out of warranty so Chrysler did me a "courtesy" and only charged $50 to fix it. Now I'm told I'll have to pay full price because the "courtesy" deal can only be used once. For the first two windows, the motor was replaced. After the third window broke, I was told by Jeep that there was a manufacturing error and the windows were too heavy for the motor. I was told the window had to be replaced with a new lighter window to solve the problem but they couldn't fix the other windows until they broke. Eventually, all the windows fell again into the doors and all the motors have been replaced with new, "lighter" windows. But guess what, it's still happening. Will never ever buy another Jeep or Chrysler product. How they did not recall this vehicle is beyond me. Note: Jeep service department has been excellent but Chrysler obviously has no concern for customer inconvenience.

I also have the same issue with the window regulator on my left passenger window. This is the third time that this occurs and my window now will not stay up and keep sliding down. It cost me $150 to fix it last time, the first time was under warranty. Thanks for the person who posted the 800 number. I will call and hope to get this fix by Jeep.

I just bought my jeep in 2009 just under 20k miles a week later the rear passenger window dropped and the dealer fixed it. Then in November the rear drive window dropped, the dealer fixed it. Both windows were covered by the purchase warranty. Now both rear passager windows have dropped this Summer 2010. I live in AZ and right now it's 115 degrees and I can't afford to pay over $300 for each window to have the window and regulator to be replaced. I am the 2nd owner of this Jeep, I wonder if the first owner had the same problem. I love driving my jeep, I HATE THE WINDOWS. When I bought the Jeep Liberty, I thought this is it I AM A JEEP person and will always buy a Jeep. Now I'm think HELL NO!!!

I was letting my window down and I heard a strange noise coming from the window. The window wouldn't go down. I got out of my Jeep and touched the window and I could move it up and down with my hands. I let the window up with my hands and placed card board paper into the frame to keep the window up. The next day the window fell into the door and I can't get the window out. This is the second night my rear window has been down all night. I don't have the money to repair the window right now. I'm afraid that a thief will enter my jeep. I didn't know this was a common problem with Jeeps until I research it on the internet. I've only had the jeep for two years and I was surprised that this could happen to a 2006 vehicle. I'm going to contact the Governor's Office of Consumer's Affairs about this issue tomorrow!

About a month after we bought our 2006 Jeep Liberty one of the windows failed. It was still under warranty at the time so it was no cost to us. Now a year later the driver side rear window failed. I would like an explanation from Jeep as to why they think it's ok to continue to let this happen to their customers and not issue a recall. It's the right thing to do. This time I happen to be driving when it failed but what if it was in a parking lot, raining, or someone just decided to rob me because you wouldn't even have to break the glass! Does Jeep even care at all?

PLEASE: If you have had this complaint and have the documentation of all the time and money it took to replace the regulator/window please call the number below: (WE CAN GET A RECALL IF WE WORK TOGETHER)

http://www.nhtsa.gov/ - CALL at:1-888-327-4236

After purchase of the Extended Warrenty (w/ supposed electric issues included) I thought I would be fine (besides the $100 deductable). Turns out in order to fix the regulator (on my window that I have not even used) the back passenger side window has to be replaced also. After seeing all the other complaints on this site - it looks like I will be in for the long haul on replacing these windows repeatedly.

This is the second window that needs repair. The drivers window went two years ago, just after the warranty ended. This vehicle also had a problem with the transmission, which was fixed with a part and it has never worked proably since then. I cross my fingers each time the automatic transmission tries to shift.

Since I was laid off in Jan of 2009 and have not found a new job, I'm stuck with this vehicle! I have always wanted a Jeep, but am very disappointed in the manufacturing quality of this vehicle. No way would I feel comfortable taking it off road!!!! I'm retired military, and thought this would be a great vehicle - NOT!

I guess I have been lucky so far since this problem has not resurfaced yet. I love the Jeep, but this epidemic hangs over your head since you always fear that any time you open your window it might not go back up. My problem was the drivers side front window. Does any one know if a recall is near? I purchased the lifetime warranty. Does this help cover us? Besides Chrysler, is there anyone else I can complain to?
