Happened out of nowhere on Tuesday (3/20/2012) while I was driving on the highway, the left-side rear passenger window rolled down all the way and I had to use pliers to pull it back up. There is definitely something wrong with the motor. Also, the door cannot be opened from the inside but can be opened from the outside.

I have two window that are taped up right now. I remember getting a letter but I didn't have a problem with it then, so I either filed it or threw it out. I can't find it, and the dealership says the VIN for my 2006 jeep (man. date 5/06), is not covered. I know it is because I've done the research. Now I need to find a letter stating it is. Can someone point me to where I can find it?

Thank you.

Had my rear passenger window on my 2006 Jeep Liberty fall into the door today, a little after a year of having the same thing happen to the rear passenger door. Today's issue was the window regulator was bad, costing $227 to fix with parts and labor....not happy....last year the drivers rear window did the same thing but the track was bad and only cost around $150 to fix.

This is a constant and highly annoying issue to JEEP users everywhere..I am afraid to roll down my windows because if the windows fall down its at least $150 to fix...if there were this many issues with the '05-'07 Jeeps, I would think that there would be a recall, but nope...too cheap to actually make things right with their loyal customers who keep them in business...

Oh, for any Liberty owners out there, be on the lookout for a recall soon...this one is because of the gas tank exploding with rear impact, and I have been told all the recall is doing is adding a trailer hitch on the back instead of actually going into the gas tank itself to fix the issue....kinda shady in my opinion.

My wife pushed the button to roll up the window and it fell down into the door. When she took it to Lithia Motors to see what was wrong she was quoted a bill of $444.49 to fix it!!! Looked on the computer and saw that this is a pretty big problem with the 2006 Jeep Liberty that they don't seem to want to address.

First the rear windows fell, thank goodness they were under warranty. After the warranty ended, the front drivers side window fell down. (I am in the process of putting in this complaint.)

On the hottest day of the summer, a few weeks ago, the passenger side window did the same thing. (Our air is not working properly as well)

We just do not have the means of paying for these repairs!! I think that with the amount of complaints I have seen, that there would be a recall.

I loved my jeep, BUT, I don't think I will buy another because of this problem!

It's ridiculous how many times the rear window has fallen. I've paid for multiple repairs and I refuse to keep putting money into a problem that is clearly a manufacturing defect. I called the Chrysler HQ and they tell me there is nothing they can do to help me. Some one needs to step up and take responsibility for this.

At first when we saw the window, which had slipped down into the frame, we thought someone tried to break into the car. My husband took it to the dealership in Rancho Mirage, CA and they said it was a little plastic goodie that is known to break. The window in question is the right front passenger,

Update: 10/6/2012, The right passenger back window has now slipped down into the window frame and has to be fixed. The dealer will again charge us, I'm sure another $325.00.

The right rear passenger window fell down and really scared my son. Just called the dealership and asked if it was covered under my extedned warranty ,which by the way cost big bucks, he said he was unsure .They will call me in the morning. Ill update this after speaking with them.

I do NOT understand how something breaks without being used !! Nobody used the back seat window, I am the only driver and NO kids. How does this happen ?? Chrysler/Jeep will NOT tell me how it happens and they will not do a recall, even though they have had MANY complaints, I am DONE with them !!

This is not the first time I have had to have repairs on my 2006 Jeep Liberty Sport where back windows just drop and the mechanisms inside the door fail. I have paid twice thus far for my rear windows to be repaired not sure why after Jeep Techs fix them they still continue to fail. I love my Jeep, but this issue makes me never want to buy another Jeep again, I feel that I should be compensated or Jeep needs to reimburse. Today makes my third time the back window has dropped and I'm sick of it!!

This time it's the Drivers side rear window. If the dealer repairs it under warranty, they will you the same crummy plastic part and it won't last. I'm taking it to the dealer and they say probably No Charge?

Update from Dec 27, 2012: The dealer refused to change under warranty because my Jeep was built 3 months to early for the extended warranty and they want to charge $400. plus dollars. I purchased another metal kit from Steiger. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. We will see how that goes.

3 of the windows on our 2006 Jeep Liberty have fallen down into the door over the course of several months--all except the driver's window. They are all being held up by duct tape, which due to the hot weather here in Alabama, hardly does the job. The heat melts the adhesive on the tape and the tape has to be replaced every few days to keep those heavy windows up...ugh!!!

I went to the Jeep dealership in hopes of having them fixed under an extended seven year warranty today...only to find out that my VIN # did not produce the extended warranty when the rep searched for it.

THEN, I had to leave the dealership to call Customer Service and tell them about the issue...So frustrating, because I basically wasted a trip to the dealership...and the phones at the dealership don't work?? (I'm just guessing that's why they didn't offer to call the # for me...)

I am waiting to see how well Jeep will resolve this issue...it determines whether or not I will ever own another one... :(

Like pretty much everyone else on here I'm pretty disappointed with this Jeep issue. Since the car was purchased the right rear window has fallen down twice, it just recently occurred for a third time. Every time I got it fixed (which wasn't cheap) I was assured that there would be no further problems with the window. I seriously don't understand how Jeep can make a car with such an annoying flaw. Not once have i ever even rolled the rear windows down but somehow it just keeps falling. . .incredible.

Bought the car (used) from a dealer 6mos. ago. The back window fell down yesterday, no problem as I bought a warranty. Now today they tell me the warranty won't cover it and its $475.00!!!!! Wow, decided to look it up and find out it is a common problem! Should be covered by Chrysler! Looking to purchase a new ranch truck, WILL NOT BE A CHRYSLER PRODUCT. Also, will NOT BE PURCHASING ANOTHER VEHICLE from that dealer . And its raining....

Update from Aug 23, 2012: Told dealer not to do the work, found a mechanic that charges MUCH less, the dealer (Flower Motor Company) charged me $125 just for looking at it! Would not give me my keys till I paid it!! So, double screwed, bought a worthless warranty out $125 and window still doesn't work. AARRRGGGGHHHH!!!
