Vehicle had an aem recall performed and now the interior of vehicle as well the exterior reaks of diesel fumes all there is a terrible hesitation and at times almost a delay in the throttle we have made numerous complaints and trips to the Jeep dealer they say they cannot find issues the reason behind it. We just spent 5 hours at the dealer for a clogged dpf filter only to leave and have my wife vomit from the fumes we pulled over several times to get fresh air.. I spoke to lynn at fca customer care badge number LN187 extension 3020187 she told me if I was concerned I should return vehicle to dealer which I have done numerous times since the end of May.the vehicle is not safe due to fumes let alone the throttle working when it chooses

The plastic oil cooler housing failed due to the plastic warping around the seals and leaking. This is a safety risk of potential fire from oil leaking on to the engine block. The cause of this failure is due to design and should be covered by the manufacturer as a recall.

My check engine light came on and upon running a diagnostic there is a problem with the left cylinder head valve and it needs to be replaced. I tried to order the part from Jeep and get the car repaired at my local mechanic. My warranty had ended 5 months prior and my car had 105,000 miles so I had to pay to get this fixed. Jeep could not provide the part because they were out of stock. They had been out of stock for four months and put me on a waiting list of 6-8 months. They also advised not to drive the car due to the severity of the issue. They also informed me that this is a nationwide epidemic and the specific part needed is on back order for over 4,000 people. They sympathized with the strain this puts on their customers but we have no option but to wait for the part to be available. This issue has not yet been resolved as a recall. I am at a loss because I cannot use the car, yet I need to have transportation to work, at the least. I have yet to come to a reasonable solution of what to do for the next 6-8 months without an operable car. Financially this is a huge setback and Jeep is not taking responsibility for this issue. Aside from the extreme inconvenience, this is also a very expensive repair that should not land in the hands of over 4,000 Jeep customers, but the company who is responsible for providing and maintaining safe vehicles. This is not only an issue for 2014 Jeep but it has been documented starting with 2011-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 3.0L ecodiesel engine that had the approved Jeep V08 recalled installed. Since having a certified technician install the V08 emissions recall, my vehicle has been back to the dealer repeatedly to have the following parts replaced: 14 total fuel injectors, fuel lines (high and low pressure) from tank to engine replaced twice, fuel tank cleaned, def injector replaced, numerous sensors and the fuel pump replaced. Each "fix" works for anywhere from 1 - 6 weeks before a light comes on again and the vehicle needs to be taken back to the dealer. Each of these repairs has included additional charges that were required to be paid out of pocket. Prior to the V08 emissions recall, I drove the vehicle over 100,000 miles without an issue. Since the recall, driving habits have not changed, but miles per gallon have dropped 2-3 mpg. The dealer and Jeep have also indicated that since the recall was installed, the vehicle must be driven differently compared to prior to the recall. According to the V08 recall notice, Jeep promised the recall would not affect the way the vehicles drives and also would not affect mileage, which has been proven false.

Fiat Chrysler automobiles (fca) issued a recall for the Ram 1500 ecodiesel, model year 2014-2019, for potential fires. Their recall states that the emissions gas re-circulation (egr) cooler can develop cracks and there is risk of an engine fire and potential for injury resulting. Fca goes on to state that injuries have occurred as a result of this particular engineering or manufacturing fault. My vehicle, the 2014 Grand Cherokee, was purchased with the optional 3.0L V6 turbodiesel engine, the "ecodiesel." This is the identical engine to the Ram and possess the same egr and egr cooler, as well as the same intake manifold, which is where the fires have seemingly occurred. The Jeep Grand Cherokee, model years 2014-2016, that utilize the optional ecodiesel engine were not named in the same recall, nor in any subsequent recalls from fca, and the risk of fire should be identical between the two vehicles. I am only assuming that the reason the Grand Cherokee was excluded, was because it was sold far less frequently with the ecodiesel engine option. If the Ram 1500 was recalled for a fire and injury risk, the Jeep Grand Cherokee that's powered by the same engine (and the same fire risk) should also be included under the same recall. It's concerning that a manufacturer admits significant health and safety risks due to a particular engine, but only includes one model that utilizes this engine. I do understand that this was a voluntary recall, but I believe that both vehicle models should be included under this recall, since it relates to the engine, not the specific vehicle utilizing it.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15V115000 (electrical system) and referred the contact to NHTSA to file a complaint. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000. Consumer stated video of fuel pump/relay issue safety hazard. Car shuts off while coasting.

While driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled again. The vehicle was restarted and the contact continued driving. While at a fuel station and attempting to start the vehicle, the contact had to press the start button several times before the vehicle would start. The failure occurred multiple times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in an unknown recall regarding the alternator, battery, and PCM approximately four months ago. Stew hansen Dodge Ram Chrysler Jeep (located at 12103 hickman rd, urbandale, ia 50323, 515-331-2900) performed the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.

The engine started misfiring. Code reader said #6 cylinder. Plug, coil, and injector didn't fix it. Dealership diagnoses left cylinder head bad. Cylinder 6 losing 65% compression. At 75K miles I was 2 weeks from out of warranty. Dealer said it is a known problem but they wait until they go bad to change them. I expect this cost customers a lot of money for a big expensive known problem that they won't take responsibility for.

While driving on the roadway and highway my vehicle will randomly kick itself into neutral and will kill the engine with no sudden warning and or warning lights that there is a problem. The battery will remain on but the engine is off. This has happened on 3 separate occasions since I purchased the vehicle in 2015 more recently this issue began in 2019. After attempting to restart the vehicle it will attempt to turn over the engine but will not start, leaving me stranded in the middle the the roadway. 50/50% chance the engine light will turn on and unknown error. The only way I have been able to move the vehicle is to remove the battery cable and let it sit for 30 minutes resetting the electrical system. Though this is a short term fix. I have contacted multiple Jeep dealers in the area and everyone I have talked to has advised me they have never seen or heard of this problem. This is a safety concern loosing all power to my vehicle while driving on the roadway and highway. I fear that this will cause a greater problem to myself and the public if the issue is not fixed. I can see a catastrophe if the problem is not fixed. I took my vehicle into a Jeep dealership to have the electrics recall problem fixed a few years ago when I was advised from Jeep unknown exact date. This is a liability and lives will be hurt including myself if this problem is overseen.

The oil filter housing on this car is cracked, leading to a oil leak and pooling problem which is a significant fire hazard issue to the passengers. This happens while driving and when the car is stationary causing a pool of oil to collect in car and drip on floor. This is a known problem - NHTSA has recorded a number of complaints from users (e.g. id 11244788,11230350, 11193883 etc.). the company has also issued a service bulletin: Sb-10058301-5939. 'parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).'

Oil was constantly running low, and on 2 occasions was found to be empty, even after oil changes. No signs of leaks or oil burning, so I assumed the dealership screwed up. Over the summer, the condensation from the A/C was leaving stains on my driveway, but still no signs of oil. A google search of A/C condensation water stains for my Jeep revealed that the engine oil cooler might be the cause. Sure enough, an inspection revealed oil sitting around the oil cooler. I took it to pellegrino Jeep and they confirmed the oil cooler had cracked and needed to be replaced. The repair cost me a little over $1000! unless Jeep redesigned this part, I will eventually experience another out of warranty failure. When Jeep was contacted, they did not provide any help since my vehicle had 73K miles on it and was out of warranty. My contention is that there really is no way to determine how many miles were on the vehicle when the part failed. Its a known fact that Jeep changed the design of the part from metal to plastic. The consumer should not be responsible for Jeep engineering errors. I'm fearful that my engine may have suffered irreparable damage, causing premature failure.

The car burns excessive oil, the only warning of this is the car shuts off power regardless of the speed and location (I could be driving 65 mph and it just shuts off power to the engine ) and the check engine light comes on. Anyone behind be can crash into me and there is nothing I can do. Jeep says the oil burning is normal. (5 quarts in 4000 miles is not normal) not having any warning notification of this is not normal.

During the failure the 'malfunction indicator' sensor light had displayed. The vehicle was taken an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the engine cylinder head was faulty and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The local dealer was not notified. The failure mileage was 88,000.

Had the ecodiesel aem recall done, the drivability of the vehicle with the turbo lag can be dangerous at times, the lag can be several seconds, and when merging with traffic entering traffic you have no idea when it comes and goes.

After fca issued recall and required update done, dangerous driving conditions exist. The update is referred to as the V08 aem update. After update done SUV became dangerously sluggish. When trying to accelerate to merge into traffic, power is dangerously low. This putting the drivers and passengers in danger when expecting SUV to perform as pre update. SUV also began to lurch forward when coming to a stop, which if not paying attention could cause an accident to occur. In addition SUV now shifts very hard, which doesn't purpose any safety issue, but does make the SUV uncomfortable to drive.
