The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that after coming a complete stop, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, vehicle hesitated without warning. Additionally, on several occasions the vehicle lunged forward with the accelerator pedal depressed. The contact called baxter Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram omaha (17950 burt St, omaha, ne 68118) and was informed that the vehicle operated as designed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 35,000.
This model can come with the 3.6 liter V/6 engine. The oil cooler has a neck attached and this is where the oil filter is located. Where the neck is connected to the oil cooler there is a O-ring to seal this connection and this leaks on almost all models. There has been some incidents where the oil has leaked on a hot motor and cause a fire. This is problem with this engine oil cooler design and should be probably listed as a recall. Thank you
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that she had noticed oil leaking from her vehicle; she could also smell an oil odor while both in and exiting the vehicle. The contact also stated that she could see smoke emitting from the hood of the vehicle when at a complete stop. Upon inspection, the contact stated that the oil leak was caused by a cracked oil filter housing. The dealer nor the manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 72,000
After the eco diesel recall was done there is a huge delay when taking off from a stop. The vehicle will move and pause almost causing accidents. Fuel mileage has also decreased and there seems to be exhaust smell inside vehicle since update was done.

After having the V08 emissions recall done the vehicle has a major loss in power. There is a dangerous amount of lag when trying to accelerate. It is not safe to pull out in traffic due to the lag. The fuel mileage has dropped significantly also. The information sent out by fca specially stated that this recall would not effect driveability or fuel consumption. It has effecfed both significantly. I have
P0032 code came up went for check engine light. Went to get it looked at. Tech then told me that it was a miss drill of the heads causing the misfire to happen. The tech then also stated it was a known mopar issue in Jeep Grand Cherokee line.
The oil filter housing cracked. Cause oil leak close to exhaust. It is made of plastic. Leaking oil. Cost us $900 to repair. Shouldn't be an issue in a 6 yr old car. Many complaints out there.
The egr cooler failed, allowing hot coolant to be directed into the intake manifold. The hot coolant caused the premature failure of internal mechanical components in the intake manifold and sever thermal damage to the intake manifold. The intake manifold, egr cooler, and other fuel components were replaced at owner's expense. Other owners experiencing this failure have encountered fires in the engine bay due to the excessive heat applied to the composite intake manifold. This failure is typically undetected until a significant loss of coolant has occurred, or the intake manifold is damaged enough to cause a malfunction detected by the computer. The Ram 1500 model that uses this engine already has a recall for the egr cooler. This recall should be extended to the Jeep Grand Cherokee models as well.
Oil leak at oil filter housing. Noticed puddle of oil on garage floor. Had vehicle checked and they determined the oil filter housing is cracked and leaking engine oil. This could cause an engine fire. I have contacted Jeep. They refused any assistance and have stopped responding to my email requests.
The contact owns a 2014 grand Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, the vehicle shifted into neutral. The contact pulled the vehicle off of the roadway but was unable to restart the vehicle. The battery terminal was disconnected and reconnected before the contact was able to restart the vehicle. Additionally, the vehicle failed to exceed 30 mph while driving. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously taken to garden city Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram 283 N franklin St, hempstead, NY 11550 (516) 336-4712, due to the traction control warning light being illuminated. The contact stated that on several occasions the brakes activated independently with the vehicle pulling to the right. The contact refused to pay for a diagnostic test to be performed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted or informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 84,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the engine warning light illuminated as the engine had overheated. The contact stated that the failure was a result of the oil cooler being made of plastic. The contact stated that the seals fractured and caused an oil and coolant leak. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 57,306. The VIN was not available.
Vehicle overheated and spewed all coolant. Several dealer visits, replaced egr, manifold, cylinder heads, hoses, thermostat etc. One occasion fuel was dripping into the engine compartment after repair and the engine compartment was smoking. Another occasion the manifold was smoking. It's only a matter of time before one catches fire. These are SUVS used to haul families.
Vehicle overheated - manifold / egr had to be replaced due to severe soot build up. Engine compartment was smoking and coolant empty when vehicle overheated. Vehicle is a fire risk.
I was changing out my brake pads, a fairly common procedure, when I noticed there was oil dripping from my chassis shield I have. Turns out I have a problem with the engine oil filter/oil cooler assembly. Apparently, you have received complaints in the past for this issue. From what I have read online, this is a very common problem that is affecting the majority of Chrysler's make and models of vehicles that use this assembly. This is not confined to Jeep vehicles only. The assembly itself is made out of plastic and is seated right on top of the engine block. The seal is kept by 3 or 4 O-rings that warp when exposed to the heat of the engine and then leak oil into the exterior valley that is created by the piston cavities. This is a big risk of engine oil flame up and total destruction of the engine. From what I have read, the valley in the engine can hold onto about 2 quarts of oil before it starts to leak and is noticeable. This is a danger for drivers that don't know they are running low on oil and their engines could seize up as a result. Now I know why my car had just shy of 5 quarts of oil in it when I changed the oil and my car holds 6 quarts to just be in the safe zone on my dipstick. I ask you to please launch an investigation on the substandard design of this part. I have included the websites I have been reading about this below: Https://www.jeepcherokeeclub.com/threads/oil-filter-housing-leak.237208/ https://dodgeforum.com/forum/Jeep/374968-serious-oil-leak-issue-2014-3-6L-3-2L-pentastar.html
Noticed vehicle at 79 000 mi to be low of oil prior to scheduled oil change. Inspected vehicle for leaks but could not find any noticable issues. Changed oil and filter as scheduled during this time. At 89,000 mi, the same issue occurred and upon further inspection, a noticable pool of oil was found to be pooling on top side of engine block near oil filter/ oil cooler. The engine block is V shaped and recessed which allows oil to pool without dripping to ground. Vehicle was taken to dealership and was diagnosed as a leaking oil cooler, with a quote of over $1000 to fix. Dealer acknowledged the issue is a known problem, but after a call with fca America, they are not willing to repair under warranty as vehicle is over the 5 year limit, although it is under the 100K. ( 89000 currently) issue is a major mechanical defect, and also presents safety issues with pools of oil standing on top of block during normal operation which could lead to fire under extreme temperatures.
About two months ago my suspension started to act up. Now my suspension is stuck completely at the lowest point. The engine has a ticking sound and now it doesnt run right.
My car had an oil leak and the mechanic had to replace the oil cooler. He said the part is a dangerous design with plastic, metal and aluminum parts. The plastic melts in the seals causing the leak. This could be a fire hazard bc of the coolant and oil mixing together as they cross over boundaries they should not. Also it could cause the engine to be completely ruined. The mechanic I used said he has replaced a lot of these all in Chrysler's and Jeep so it is clearly a hazardous design flaw. This has been an ongoing problem and I filed a case with Chrysler #71764143. The mechanic telling me my engine could be ruined made my decision to get the repair more urgent.
After the mandatory emissions modification that was required on the ecodisel 3.0 liter Dodge and Jeep vehicle, there has been a significant decrease in vehicle performance. The vehicle has lost performance in shifting, acceleration (response), fuel efficiency and overall power. This is not only performance related, but also a major safety issue as it makes it difficult to accelerate properly when making turns into oncoming traffic.
