Slow to start, when it did start the check engine light came on. While in park car would shake and I could hear a boiling noise. When driving it was slow to accelerate, when it did accelerate it would jump as if it was catching up with itself. Every 5 mins or so a notification would appear on the dashboard that said coolant temperate over heating. Took it directly to the Ford dealer and was told I needed a new engine, that there was so much coolant inside of the engine it wouldn't unplug.

I have coolant leaking into engine cylinders. Bought the car a year ago from carvana before purchase had a full inspection done. A year later I had problem with the engine spitting and misfiring. Local mechanic changed the spark plugs and leads. But noticed bad discoloration on the spark plugs. Ive been continuing to have to add coolant and the car is running ever worse.

Within the past week I have had to two my car twice. Both times were due to issues with the engine. My problem began Wednesday July 1, 2020 when my engine light appeared on my dash. To give context my car had been starting pretty roughly for a few days prior to this. After the engine light came on I had a local repair shop test it and it came back showing a misfire on cylinder 2. I was told that I more than likely needed new spark plugs and a new ignition coil. The code was reset until I could have it repaired as it was the weekend of July 4th I was unable to secure an appointment. The next week on Tuesday July 7, 2020 my car would not start at all. I had it towed to a repair shop again to have the previous work completed. On starting my car white smoke appeared. I informed the shop that my car had never exhibited this before. I was told that I was also need an engine flush as well. All repairs were completed and paid for with the price being $700. The very next day after receiving my car back the engine light returned again. I began the drive to return it back to the repair shop. While on the way my car suddenly shut off and displayed a warning message stating "engine coolant failure". I was able to successfully maneuver it to the side of the highway and once again had it towed. I was told by Ford that there was a problem with how the engine was built which had allowed coolant to get into the cylinders. I was told the charge for this issue would be about 8,000.00.

At 55K miles the check engine light appeared. We immediately took the car to the dealer. We are told that there is a coolant intrusion in a cylinder and that the entire engine will need to be replaced. The vehicle warranty started June 26, 2015. The vehicle was checked into the dealer 6/30/2020, 4 days after the 5 year/60 mile warranty expired. Days expired, not milage. We are being told by the dealer and Ford customer service that nothing will be done to fix the car even though the issue is a known problem and the replacement engine that would be installed is completely redesigned due to the known defect.

As I was driving my car locked up and I had to hard break. I took it into the shop and they said it was a wiring issue and not covered under warranty. They couldn't explain why it would happen and suggested I placed something heavy on my passenger dash. It sounds similar to another recall I saw but my car is not listed as needing that.

I was driving upon making a left hand turn in the city the steering wheel became very difficult to turn, the stability control light and traction lights all lit up on the dashboard, basically felt like the power steering gave out. I'm not sure the cause of this or how it can be resolved. I also noticed everytime I refuel the vehicle and start it up the rpms will drop as if the vehicle is going to shut off and becomes hesitant for a few mins while parked at the pump and then it idles back normal.

There is a known defect to the engine where coolant leaks into the cylinder. The suggested repair is to replace the long block of the engine. The coolant leaks while the car is off causing a very rough start, and eventually the coolant reaches a level where it is not sufficient enough to keep the motor cool, causing overheating.

2016 Ford Fusion was sputtering when started and killed once. I had recently brought it to Ford and my coolant was very low. They said my spark plugs needed to be changed. Got it back and the next day it was worse. When I brought it back to Ford they then told me my engine needed to be replaced because coolant was in my cylinders and on spark plugs. Not only did they not address this when they changed my spark plugs 3 days prior. You know darn good and well they saw this and did a compression test on my cylinders. This is an issue with many Ford Fusion and they are refusing to replace my engine when they know it is a factory design default. It is going to cost me almost 7000 which is ridiculous when its a default in the engine.

At approximately 70000 miles the check engine light came on and the engine would run rough when started but would smooth out and operate fine. The check engine light went off after a few days and would repeat every week or so. At 73000 miles the check engine came on and the engine was misfiring. Took to the Ford dealer and was diagnosed as P0301 and P0316 cylinder 1 misfire. Pressure tested coolant system losing pressure. Tried to remove #1 sparkplug could not be removed. Diagnosed "most likely needs a long block because of spark threads and short block issues with these". estimated cost $7000. The dealer filed a request with Ford for cost relief which, after a week, was denied. I called Ford customer relations and asked for help on escalating the issue and was told to have the dealer file an appeal which I have requested. Seems like a common problem with this engine given the complaints here and the comments from the dealer personnel.

Started out as cylinder 3 misfire, normal highway driving, I replaced plugs and coil packs, did not help. Then engine over heated, checked coolant which was low. Shortly after realized coolant has been leaking to nowhere and white smoke started coming out of the tail pipe. After some research I find out this a problem Ford knows about, so im hoping they are held responsible.

My car has been running fine. A few days ago, it suddenly over heated. Fluid levels were fine. After letting it cool off, I was able to drive it home. It's been running fine again until yesterday. Out of nowhere, it over heated and once again fluid levels were fine. I let it cool down and drove it home which was one street over. It started running rough and as soon as I turned in the driveway, white smoke started coming out of the tailpipe.

The car was bought new 4 and 1/2 years ago and has 104,000 miles. All service work has been done by a Ford dealership. The car dealership said the car was okay 3 months ago. One day, the engine starting running rough with white smoke coming out of the exhaust. The dealership said it pulled a code P02300, which means the #2 cylinder is misfiring. From our research, the 2017 Ford Fusion had a recall on the exact same engine for the same issues. This is also a known problem for many Ford service dealerships. The fix for this is replacing the engine.

So this started just about a week ago I noticed I had low coolant, I had serviced my car recently so I thought maybe they just forgot to add some, it wasn't below the minimum line but it was getting near so I topped it off, well not I notice my coolant is leaking further more and more, I've researched it online and many people are having this issue although there's no recall issues there should be, people are paying thousands of dollars for a new engine because of a defect and I fear I'm going to be one of those people also, they claim the 2nd piston goes out due to coolant leaking inside. Please please investigate this defect, Ford lied about their Ford Focus and now it's their Ford Fusion.

On February 11th 2020, I purchased a 2016 Ford Fusion with 73,000 miles from american car center in West columbia, S C. on February 23rd I was riding on I26 and my car started overheating. I pulled into a parking lot. I opened the hood and all my antifreeze and and water was spouting out of the reservoir. I put enough water back in it to take it back to the dealership. The dealership directed me to take the vehicle to pep boys on broad river road, columbia South Carolina to find and fix the problem. The problem was with the thermostat and the thermostat housing. Pep boys had the car for about 5 days to repair. I get the car back on February 28th 2020. The car was fine until March 12th. That morning I was on my way to work and I heard a blunt sound coming from my vehicle and the vehicle just cut off while I was on the highway and the check engine light came on. I had enough power to make it to work. When I left work for the day, the car cut off again while I was driving on the interstate. I once again pulled over and got enough power to make it to the car dealer. When I got to the dealer one of the salesman went to auto zone to do a diagnostic and the codes came back with a fuel issue. I then dropped the car off to richards auto repair in West columbia, Carolina, he did a diagnostic and notified me that the tube assembly needed to be replaced. He did the work and the car ran ok. On March 22, while driving, the temperature gauge started moving torward the H meaning the car is running hot again. I recorded a video of the temperature gauge moving up and down and also the "power reduced to lower engine temp" message came on on the dashboard. I turned the car off once parked and did not start it again for a couple of days. On March 24th, I was outside of a local store and in park and the temperature gauge moved again to the H while the car was on and idling. Consumer stated car overheated again on April 11th.
