My Ford Fusion 2016 is having a bad issue and it is a dangerous one. So I was driving around with my grandmother and siblings, we had stopped by the supermarket to get some food. And when I finished parking my vehicle both driver and passenger door has opened except for the two rear doors my siblings couldnt get out the car if the handle is pulled outside of the rear door. Its a very dangerous thing because imagine if in a car crash and someone is sitting in the rear sit how are they going to open the door!?. this need a fix.
Attempted to start vehicle, would not start. Removed trim and found that there was a wiring issue from the battery junction box (bjb) to the starter. Found wiring and connector corroded. Technician had to clean connector, repair/replace wire, apply di-electric grease. Vehicle was stationary at time issue was discovered.
2016 Ford Fusion making loud rattling noise from engine. No check engine light ever came on, but Ford saying engine is catastrophic engine failure. Connecting rod in piston broke loose. How does no check engine light ever come on? this could have killed me on the highway. How does a 3 year old car with 128,000 (mostly highway) miles go into catastrophic engine failure? car has been meticulously maintained.
This is a recurring problem which has now happened 4 times. The entire electrical system goes down. The dash goes dark, the A/C does not work, the turn signals don't work, the doors and windows will not work and I cannot even get out of the car. It does not help to turn off and restart the car, everything will start working eventually on its own. I can steer and brake, but that is all. This last time I was on the interstate and was frightened that I would be hit before I could get on the shoulder. When I took it in, as usual, they could not find the problem. It was suggested that I contact Ford for a replacement vehicle. They denied my request, saying I was outside the time period for filing. The case number is fma cas-22012807. I bought the car at raceway Ford in hartsville, SC, where I resided, in March of 2016. I first had trouble with it in June, 2016 and took it in. The again in December, 2016 and January, 2018. I have since moved to des moines, ia and had the same problem again in July, 2019. The car has less then 19,000 miles and I feel very dangerous. In January, 2018 they told me that they replaced the entire computer system but the problem is still there. I hope there is something that the NHTSA can help with.
I was driving down the highway and my engine lost power. My car would not accelerate. I could not even go the speed limit. The dealer had to replace the throttle body. Ford was changing these out through their own recall but that ended years ago. This problem is very popular over the Ford models and could wind up killing somebody when the engine cuts out. Ford is not standing behind the safety of their customers and I feel the NHTSA needs to step in and make this a mandatory recall. Someone is going to die from this and it is all across all their makes.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. After leaving the office and walking to the vehicle, the contact heard music playing in the vehicle even though the keys were on her person and the vehicle was still locked. Additionally, on occasion, the air conditioner, lighting, and radio would activate independently with the ignition in the off position and the doors locked. The vehicle was taken to koons Ford of baltimore (located at 6970 security blvd, windsor mill, md 21244, (410) 298-3800) where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced due to severe battery drainage. Also, the water pump needed to be replaced. The battery and water pump were replaced, and the power train control module was updated; however, the failures recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 69,084. The VIN was not available.
I was parking backing up when the horn went on the first time. I thought that I might have touched the horn sign accidentally. Driving away from work the same problem happened again the same day, horn went on blaring loud again but this time hands was well positioned on the wheel. When making turn left or right horn would sound out loud again. When car is parked outside and the temperature is high horn would sound on and off. It happened also while car was in motion in the traffic blaring so loud on and off to cause fear and anxiety. The horn would go on and off even park in the driveway at night and during the day causing nuisance in community. Took car to the dealership at the services department after hearing the horn loud blaring(sd) decided to disable it until they checked the problem. The diagnostic reveled a faulty electrical wiring affecting the ignition and air bag. Been having this issue two weeks before memorial weekend May 2019, issue occurring up to this moment.

Within the past 4 months, as of today, April 08,2019, I have found all my windows down on my vehicle when parked. It has happened twice at work, once at home, and once at shopping mall. On today, April 08,2019 I entered work at 5:45am(light rain). At 9:30am, I exited my work area to go to another building, and found all four(4)of my windows down and it was pouring down raining. My vehicle was also full of household items purchased. I would like to know if this problem has been reported by any other owners of this car. I thank you for taking the time to read my complaint and look forward to a response.
Ford Fusion recall: Driving on the way home from the store and my check engine light came on along with a wrench symbol and a note on my dash to see manual while I was making a right turn I to my apartment complex. I took it to auto zone and they started it was the throttle body and it needed to be replaced, I took it to Ford after where they said it was covered and to bring it in on the 6th of Feb to have it fix. But then was told after they confirmed it was the throttle body that it was not covered. I only had the car 2 years and its problem after problem which nothing is covered under the warranty that I'm paying for.
Vehicle in motion. After 40mph, service advancetrac lights on dash. ABS is activated even though on dry ground. Brake pedal becomes hard and drops about 50%. stopping distance dramatically increased. Pedal pulsates under my foot. Traction control turned off. Hill assist turned off. This continues to happen every time I drive the car since mid November, 2018. The defective part is the tone ring, which is part of the wheel bearing and is very expensive to repair. Ford will do nothing about it even though there is no problem at all with the tone ring. The electrical problem is the harness that the wheel speed sensor plugs into on the left front wheel. The yellow wire has a hole in it and corrodes. Ford is also aware of this problem but refuses to do anything about it.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle had stalled several times with no warning. In addition, the vehicle had been extremely difficult to start after refueling. There was an engine warning light that had flashed intermittently as the failure progressed. The vehicle was not inspected and diagnosed by a dealer yet but hennessy Ford Lincoln atlanta (5675 peachtree industrial blvd, atlanta, ga 30341, 1-(770) 621-0200) was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not included in an unknown electrical system recall campaign from the manufacturer however, the vehicle exhibited the same failure as the recall. The manufacturer had issued 25 tsb on electrical and 16 tsb on the engine and engine cooling however, there was no recall open for the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no assistance other than the contact having the dealer diagnose and repair the vehicle. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was not available.
I was driving on the highway and the main screen in the center of the dashboard turned off and had the message 'turning off system to save battery'. this was not an accurate projection by the car system being that I just recently installed a brand new battery a couple of days prior. As the car system continued to shut down, the alert of 'system charging service now' showed up on the dash. Following that message the power steering completely shut down. Shortly there after, the entire electrical system shut down in my car. Lights, steering, dashboard, electronic seats, doors, gear shift, everything! this all happened in the span of 1 minute or so on a highway at 11pm at night. I almost got into an inescapable acccident trying to find somewhere to get the car off the highway. Shortly there after the engine also cut off due to not getting any power from the car system. This is very unfortunate because this car is only 2 years old and I bought the car brand new off the lot.
When I started the car multiple alarms sounded and the display showed the following errors: Steering assist fault service required, service advancetrac, pre-collission assist not available, hill start assist not available. The car has 13514.1 miles on the odometer at the time of this occurrence. The car had been driven less than 10 miles earlier in the day but had been parked with the engine off for nearly 8 hours. I did not attempt to drive the vehicle due to the difficult, if not impossible, chore of turning the steering wheel. I shut the vehicle off and restarted it several times attempting to see if the faults would clear on their own. No luck.
ABS lights, traction control lights, throttle body control lights, air bag lights, emergency break lights, rear right break lights all come on my dash, it is at random times, first starting the car up, driving it for 2 minutes or even up to 10-12 minutes. Speed, weather or making a turn or just going straight does not matter. Warning lights can go off every day multiple times or as lttle as once a week. You can feel the streeting get very tight, its hard to even make a turn which is not very safe. Had my vehilce in the shop for 25 days straight. Was told the issues were fixed and withint 7 hours of picking my car up all the same lights came on.
Takata recall. Sync system quits working, tries to restart but doesn't. rear back-up camera is inoperable with this condition as well as any entertainment (radio, cd, sirius, etc.) & navigation. Upon search of internet it is a wide spread issue they are aware of and making consumers pay for known widespread issue.
Engine loses engine power when driving. Pressing the accelerator pedal does nothing. Must coast or brake until the car stops. Power steering, braking, and climate control systems remain functional; radio remains on; turn signals did not work. 'trans not in park' message appears on the display. Event has occurred three times when driving at highway speeds. Cruise control was on and set during at least two times out of the three events. Car may be restarted after coming to a stop, shifting into park and turning key to off. Appears to 'reset' to work correctly until the next unexpected event occurs. Check engine light does not come on. Chime occurs after the loss of engine power. The car does not shake during or before event. Have not experienced any harsh or delayed shifting when starting from stop or after slowing and trying to accelerate. Three identical instances have occurred since driving this car. In one of the three instances, the key was bumped with a knee. Present milage is about 48000. Car was obtained in 12/2016. Local Ford dealer states that there are no recalls or services outstanding for this vehicle; did not know of any reported problems like this. On May 15, 2018 wes myers at bob sight Ford in lee's summit, Missouri checked two other Fusion and noted that this same problem will occur if the key is barely rotated back - not so much as to think it should turn off the engine. As such, he did not find anything 'wrong' since other vehicles exhibit the same problem; replacing the ignition switch with another that has the same problem would not provide a fix. Also stated that unless the car was still under the bumper to bumper warranty, that Ford would not take any action. The vehicle leasing company (enterprise) has not issued any notices stating this is a known issue with the vehicle. NHTSA 9/19/2016, blacklick, oh, is similar issue.
The 12-volt battery on the energi model will not hold a charge. Repeated jump starts are required. Despite being under warranty, 2 Ford dealers claimed they don't know the source of the problem and refused to replace the battery. No wonder Ford dropped this model. It is a disaster that Ford refuses to acknowledge.
