Not shifting properly and a leak. There is a recall # 18V169000 but it does not include this particular Ford Fusion even though this is happening to my car.
After getting to my destination and pulling into a designated parking spot, I put the vehicle in park and got out. As I was getting out, the vehicle began to roll. I immediately got back in and applied the brakes. I checked to see if I indeed had put the vehicle in park and the parking indicator read "park". at that time, I engaged the parking break to keep the vehicle from rolling. Fault: "vehicle continues to move after being placed in park." After investigating the problem, I found out that Ford had a recall (recall 18S20) for faulty shift cable bushing. I checked the shift cable bushing and it was broke. Upon checking with the Ford dealer, they told me the vehicle wasn't covered by the recall due to it being manufactured after the recall ended. How can the vehicle have the same issue as the recall if it was manufactured after the recall?
Vehicle will go into safe mode while driving and will force you to pull over and shut down vehicle regardless of location, traffic, or driving condition. When you shut off car, you wait a few minutes, restart car and then car drives normal again, until it happens again.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contacted stated that the gear shift selector seized in neutral. The vehicle was taken to palm coast Ford (located at 1150 palm coast pkwy sw, palm coast, fl 32137, (386) 447-3380) where it was diagnosed that the bushing on the transmission cable fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was currently being repaired. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 18V471000 (power train). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.
While attempting to drive to work one morning, I started my vehicle, and put it in drive. When I hit the gas, I rolled backwards. I noticed the display showed me in reverse even though the shifter was in drive. I tried shifting gears but the display still had me in reverse even when I shifted to neutral and back in park. I turned the vehicle off and tried to turn the car back on but it would not start because the display still showed the transmission in reverse even though the shifter was still in park. Because of this, the car would roll forward. I had to use my emergency brake to prevent the vehicle from rolling. This is is a known recall but for some reason my vehicle's VIN number was not part of the recall so I had to pay for towing and repairs out of pocket.

There is a recall on Ford Fusion for shifter cable coming loose which occurred to my Fusion I was informed at the Ford dealer that my vehicle was not part of the recall so I had to pay $500 to have it repaired.since this is the same problem on the same year model vehicles in the recall, I think all Fusion should be included in recall before some one is in an accident or injured
Shift cable off transmission cable bushing. Parked at work, shifted to park and took foot off brake and began rolling. Shifter was stuck in the park position but car was in drive. Used E-brake avoid rolling into vehicle ahead of me. Bob allen Ford in overland park, ks completed the repairs and noted "C/S the car will not start it thinks it is in drive found shift cable off transmission replaced cable bushing and adjusted cable, verified operation. This is known recall on 2013 and 2014 Ford Fusion manufactured at the hermosillo Mexico plant, but my car manufactured in December of 2013, does not fall within the dates on the recall so I was required to pay for repairs, parts, labor, and a tow to the service center totaling $447.12. Advised by bob allen Ford to file a complaint and/or contact Ford about the issue and request a refund.
Transmission ( outside linkage and double clutch ) both of these problems occur when you are driving and could be very dangerous. I have tried to speak with over 5 different individuals at Ford cust. Serv and and 4 different people at 2 different Ford dealerships. These issues have been fixed as recalls for thousands of other Ford owners but they refuse to do anything for me. Not only was my family put in danger, but the cost of these repairs is over $8500. The value of this vehicle is 4000, and I still owe 9000. Please help me find a way to resolve this issue. I find it hard to believe that it is a coincidence that my car just happens to have the same problems yet they refuse to fix mine. No recall has been issued for me, yet they have issued recalls for these same problems for others, ,,not a coincidence, thank you..vehicle was in motion on a city street for both occurrences. These recalls are common knowledge so I have nothing to uplaod
My car is a 2014 Ford Fusion I purchased at the dealership 2 years ago. Never had a problem until recently. After I turn on my car and switch gear to "drive" my car will shut down within 20 feet. I have to park the car and wait a few minutes and try again; it always happens later on during the day when driving off a parking lot. The main problem is that the "check engine" light never comes of, but there is certainly a problem when the car shuts down on it's own; it never shuts off while driving at high speed, but I am truly concern with this matter. I took my car to the dealership to get to the bottom of the problem. I was advised it will cost me $110 for a diagnostic, which I paid. I waited for 4 hours and according to the mechanic the antifreeze is mixing with the engine oil and that's what cause the car to stall occasionally and the cost of repair will be $2,100. When I checked the car along with a personal mechanic there is no indication of anything mixing with the engine oil, the oil is clean is not milky and it smells fine. Bottom line I am not happy with the fact that there is no recall for this serious issue and even more so that Ford dealership was so dishonest about the car symptoms. Needless to say I will not buy a Ford again and still don't know what's wrong with my car
I had an issue on my 14 Fusion. Of the shifter separating from the transmission. I noticed the problem when I shifted my car into the park position and removed my foot from the break, allowing my car to pull forward again. Thankfully I was in a parking area with plenty of room. No one was hurt and no property damage was sustained. This problem leaves you with no transmission controls. Ford does have a recall on the very problem my car experienced but, unfortunately for me my car was not included, leaving me to fix the problem myself. Ford needs to expand the recall since it is obviously a bigger problem then they believe with my car having this same failure. The last recall they fixed, seatbelt on front passenger, has only had more issues of retracting then before the service, does make me wonder if it's not better that I repaired the failure personally. It failed at 90K but I have had no more issues after a 20 dollar repair.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. While operating the vehicle, the transmission would not shift into gear. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who replaced the transmission pump and torque converter. Approximately two months later, the transmission shift cable bushing detached and caused the vehicle to roll backwards. The vehicle was taken to town Ford (1680 whittlesey rd, columbus, ga), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 18V471000 (power train). The contact indicated that the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. Takata recall - I was trying to park my car and as I moved the gear shift to reverse the dash reflected that the car was still in drive. Only way I could get my car to stop was putting on the emergency break. I discovered that there is a recall for this issue recall number 18V471000 but because my VIN number is not listed for the recall Ford dealership refuses to fix it without charge.

Shifter cable deteriorated causing the vehicle to not go to "park". the vehicle was stationary in a parking lot and would not start due to this issue. I put the parking brake on to prevent rolling away.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. While the vehicle was parked, the contact attempted to place the gear into park; however, the gear shifter failed to engage. The vehicle was towed back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission's front clutch slipped and the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.
