CarComplaints.com Notes: Power steering problems started rearing their ugly head in the 2010 Fusion, so you'd think Ford had plenty of time to make sure those problems didn't creep into the 2012. But here we are.

The Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) is a mess. It fails at an alarming rate. Don’t believe us? Take a look at NHTSA’s data on the subject.

And much like the power steering, we’re still seeing the same throttle body failures that started in 2010 continue in 2012.

Takata recall I have made numerous attempts with the dealer to remedy this; dealer "cannot get parts/waiting on parts". Ford has given authority for me to have a rental car, but I am paying on my Ford Fusion, that is a hazard to passengers. This is unacceptable! Honda and Toyota owners seem to have had first preference in this matter.

The contact owned a 2012 Ford Fusion. While parking the vehicle in a parking space, the vehicle surged at an unknown speed, drove over a concrete median, and crashed into two plastic tanks. None of the air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not towed to a dealer to be diagnosed. The insurance company towed the vehicle to a facility, investigated the failure, and determined that it was destroyed. The driver sustained injuries to the neck, collar bone, scarring to the left hand, left wrist, and left arm as well as chest pains from the seat belt restraining tightly. The front passenger also sustained chest pains from the seat belt restraining tightly. Both occupants received medical treatment. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 22,000. The consumer stated the police report statement was incorrect.

I received a recall notice regarding the passenger airbag and that I was eligible for a rental car until Ford has my part. Unfortunately Ford san leandro rents from enterprise rental car and I can not rent from there. When I told the service manager the deal he was very rude and stated he was sorry he could not do anything for me and he had no loaner Ford cars at his location. I asked him was I just supposed to drive my car that is dangerous he told me yes because it was my fault that I could not rent from that rental company. I started that journey at 9 am and by 2 pm I called all Ford stores in the bay area California and no one had Ford lender cars. At hilltop Ford in richmond, ca after feeling so defeated I called them and they stated I will be able to rent from hertz as well. Well I called all hertz rental car lots and they do not carry a lot of Ford cars and no one had any cars on their lot. This all happened in May 2018 it is now July 2018 and I have no rental, the airbag is not fixed and I'm still driving the car that states if a accident occurs the airbag will explode. I have no other means of transportation and I have to work and my grandmother has cancer which I have to take her to all her appointments which she is sitting in the passenger seat. I'm afraid every time I'm in the car or my grandmother is but what am I to do" no one is helping and there are no available cars for me. I pay $371 every month for a car that is dangerous to drive and no one to help with this. I even called Ford company and one operator stated could I just drive the car safely. Is this how Ford handles customer's" it's not my doing that the airbag is not effective and its not your fault about me not renting the car but at least fix my car or I should be able to trade it

Takata recall since at least 2016, Ford Motor Company has notified me about the takata airbag recall. I have contacted my local dealer and the numbers for Ford corporate on several occasions and have been informed the parts are still not in. I have a son with special needs, and am in charge of all transportation for him and his staff. I do not feel comfortable driving with someone in the passenger seat, and thus, the lack of this part has severely negatively impacted my son's quality of life and inconvenienced scheduling tremendously. I love my car completely, but something needs to be done about this recalled part.

I received my first recall for this takata airbag recall back in March 2017, meanwhile the recall was actually first put out in January 2017. I was not offered any remedy for this situation until June 2018 when I was offered a rental car until parts are available. The solution offered by Ford in the interim was to not drive the vehicle and have the largest person sit as far back as possible if the car was to be used in the passenger seat. Currently, I am still waiting for replacement parts and my car is sitting, as I am required by Ford to no longer drive it, building up rust and other problems. Truly unacceptable that Ford has not been held responsible for the danger they have put all of their customers in. A disgrace!
