CarComplaints.com Notes: Power steering problems started rearing their ugly head in the 2010 Fusion, so you'd think Ford had plenty of time to make sure those problems didn't creep into the 2012. But here we are.
And much like the power steering, we’re still seeing the same throttle body failures that started in 2010 continue in 2012.

Takata recall. To date I still have the defective airbag in my vehicle and received a letter on June 2, 2018 that resolution is still pending and they are offering a rental car indefinitely. I do not feel that this is adequate. Rental car agencies have base model vehicles and do not have near the features my Fusion includes. Our state requires hands free mobile device usage and the rental cars are not equipped for this unless you rent a higher end model. I was also advised by my local dealer that the rental had to be reauthorized every 30 days. This is a huge inconvenience but the only other option is to gamble on the airbag and potential injury. This car has been impeccably maintained with all maintenance done through my local Ford dealership. I feel that all of the money I've invested in both the vehicle and its maintenance are now wasted. It has been more than a year since this recall was issued and it is clear Ford is unable to remedy it. At this point Ford should be required to buy back this car with a suitable amount of compensation for the loss of my investment.
Takata recall remedy is still unavailable after more than a year since I received the notice of the takata recall. I'm concerned about the safety of my passengers or the decrease of the vehicle's value in case I would try to sell it.

Takata recall, takata has failed to provide the parts to Ford to repair their defective airbag inflators for over 1 year. Takata's failure puts my family & I at risk of personal injury.
While driving 70mph on the highway our vehicle was suddenly smashed into by another vehicle. The other vehicle smashed into us at 45 degree angle and from behind on the driver's side of our vehicle while going approx. 70mph itself. The other vehicle hit our vehicle precisely where our vehicle's owner's manual describes our side impacts air bag sensors to be but our driver's side airbag did not deploy. No airbags deployed at all. Ford Motor Company has serviced our driver's side airbag several times, and in this case just weeks prior to our accident and deployment failure. Ford has serviced our driver's side airbag on 3 separate occasions, 2 of which we have documentation for. The missing documentation is the result of a change in ownership of one of the dealerships, and change in computer records.
"takata recall" I received a letter from Ford in March of 2017 advising of a recall because of defect in passenger side airbag. I was told that I would be contacted when the parts to fix the issue was available. I have periodically been checking with my dealership, rountree in shreveport, with the orr Ford dealership in stonewall and other Ford dealerships in the area for the last 6 months, only to be told the part has not come in yet. In March I was told it was expected in April. Today I was told it was expected in a few weeks. I am starting to think the problem will never be resolved.

It has been 16 moths since receiving the recall notice. Ford has failed to remedy the life threatening safety recall in a timely manner. Both Ford and the NHTSA are negligent in protecting consumers. Based on Ford's continued efforts to get exempted from the recall it is obvious they were not trying to obtain the replacement parts. They can design and launch a new vehicle in less time than they have taken to not remedy the fix. They will not put forth the required effort to remedy the problem until they are fined and it costs them more to ignore the recall that it does to fix the problem. The NHTSA only gives consumers excuses on behalf of Ford. The NHTSA is supposed to protect consumers not the manufacturers.Ford has missed the mandate to have the remedy parts by December 31, 2017, but the NHTSA has does nothing to fine and compel Ford to comply with the recall.
I was on the road pack saddle in jonestown tx 78645, when I pulled on to road 1431. A large truck with a crash guard hit me on the driver's side @ 60mph. The accident turned my car into a horse shoe, and senjt me into on coming trafic. All of the air bags were activated and saved both me and my wife but, the residue that came with the activation pepperd me in the face and ruined my glasses. If I had not had my glasses on, I would have lost my vision due to such. We were on a county road.turning left and my vehicle was in motion.
This is our complaint before the serious injury/death occurs. Our passenger airbag requires replacement but now our VIN has been dropped from your current listing. Ford release March 2017, 'a ruptured inflator may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death.' I can't drive our fine car on the freeway and risk my wife's life. The bag needs replacement now to forestall a future complaint of injury or death and resulting lawsuit!
