When operating my vehicle it makes audible breaking sounds. When coming to a stop you can hear the screeching of brakes. It was light, but it seem's like it's getting louder though. This happens when driving in town on the streets.
Brakes failed, brake pedal goes all the way to the floor no pressure to stop the my vehicle had to use emergency break to stop it had to call tow truck to bring it to halliburton auto clinic to see what was going on with the breaking and it checked out to be ABS hydraulic control unit. The mechanic asked did I want it fixed I told him yeah because it couldn't be driven and its my only transportation. So they fixed it after paying for service I got a letter about the recall.I called Ford to see what to do about a reimbursement they say I have to wait for the 2nd letter
I stepped on the brake hard and the ABS engaged. After that, it was like my brakes were almost gone. They almost went to the floor. This has happened several times. Sometimes it stays like that for many days. Other times the brakes come back after a couple of days. The last time this happened, a week ago, the brakes never fully came back. They are still 75% -80% gone after I stepped on the brake hard. I was in motion both on a city street and on a highway when this happened. I was not turning. I believe this is related to the recall that was just issued: 19S54. However, this recall does not show up under my VIN number. I contacted Ford corporate and they told me that my vehicle was not included in the recall notice because the build date was outside of the affected date range. However, I believe the date in their system might be wrong for my vehicle as it says that the build and release date are the same date. In addition, I have a couple of the invoice the dealership gave me for my car. The date on the invoice is before the build date Ford has in their database. Please help!

In motion on highway with cruise control car dashboard shows 'stop safely now' loose acceleration. Turn car off then back on and can drive. Check engine light on. Told vacuum pump creating issue. Replaced and car okay. While in motion on highway during acceleration 'stop safely now' entire car shuts down while driving. Loss of brakes, steering, acceleration. Get car towed back to shop and told acid leak degraded wire harness. But also told they can't ensure the car will be fixed from repairing. How does a battery leak so bad without any cracks. No shop can confirm the acid leak is causing the brake issue. Possible ABS module, electronic control, O2 sensor replacement too.

Recall: 19S54 is only allowing Fusion manufactured up to 07/09. My Fusion was made in Sept. At the Mexico plant. Vehicle exhibits exact symptoms and is currently exhibiting them. Second time this has happened. Last year had ABS event and pedal traveled further. Valve became unstuck by itself and was fine until the other day when another ABS event occurred and pedal is traveling further now. Latest event, was traveling down slight hill on a snowy road and needed to stop. It was a long ABS event. After coming to complete stop, waited a minute or so and began traveling with traffic again. Went to slow down/stop again and noticed pedal is traveling further. This vehicle should be included in this recall
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While driving 40 mph, the anti-lock brakes engaged automatically. The driver depressed the brake pedal to the floorboard and the vehicle slowly stopped. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where two sensors were replaced; however, the failure recurred. While driving on slick roads and over a patch of ice, the anti-lock brakes engaged again and the contact lost all brake power. The contact pulled over and parked the vehicle for awhile. Afterwards, the brake power returned. On another occasion, while driving in the rain, the anti-lock brakes engaged again. The contact coasted into a parking lot and pumped the brake pedal numerous times. Afterwards, the brake pedal returned to normal. The contact called Mountaineer Ford Lincoln Mitsubishi (615 N eisenhower dr, beckley, wv 25801, (304) 461-0505) and was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 19V904000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The dealer stated that the contact needed to wait until the recall was issued and advised her to call the manufacturer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000.
While driving on a city street I came to a stop light applied my brakes and they went almost to the floor. I took my 2010 Ford Fusion to laird noller Ford repair shop and was told my ABS hydraulic pump was faulty and needs to be replace at a cost of $1,300. While the repair was reviewing my brake issue a worker moved my vehicle knowing it had no brakes and caused damage to the rear bumper and fender. I would think a brake problem of this nature which could have caused the death of my children and I would be on the recall list. In addition, I should be reimbursed for this repair since it is a manufactory fault and not caused by me.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 20 mph, the contact rear ended the preceding vehicle. The contact stated that she had to apply more pressure to the brake pedal than usual to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle seemed to stop at a lower speed than the amount of force that was needed to apply the brakes. The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained injuries to the hip, ankle, knee, and wrist. Medical attention was not received. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not towed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact of a future recall regarding the brakes. The manufacturer referred the contact to NHTSA to file a complaint. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
When applying the brakes, if I encounter a situation that would engage ABS, instead of ABS turning on, the brake suddenly travels to the floor. This has happened 3 times in the past year. Private mechanic could not diagnose. Ford dealer service bleed the lines and could not guarantee problem was eliminated. No codes are produced.
I have had numerous brake problems with this car..first @ 23,000 miles back brakes froze up on me, had to have both rotors & pads replaced, since then had pads replaced again on the back. I also had to replace the front pads twice, just this month with 46,000 miles on my car, had to replace both front rotors & pads because they were making a squealing noise..I feel the brakes are a safety issue, never know when they are going to stop working especially if I'm driving 🚗
I've received a recall for the ABS valve not working correctly and causing the brakes to not work properly. Could this be what's caused my problems before I've had several times since I've owned my 2010 Fusion go to apply the brakes and they just didn't work properly. About a month ago I ran into the back of a Ford F150. I was in a turning lane with heavy traffic and when we didn't make it through the light I applied the brakes and I wasn't stopping, luckily I was able to pull the emergency brake while pushing all I could with a size 9 steel toe work boot to keep from damaging anyone's vehicle. It wasn't any damage to the back of the truck but it was enough to break a chrome piece off my grill. I've always just assumed it was lack of maintenance or due to wet roads plus the fact the car has over 225,000 miles but this last incident the roads was dry and being in a line of traffic trying to turn I was only doing about 10 mph.
Reversing my car out of the driveway and the car would not brake. Lost all brakes in the car. Prior to this issue I always though the vehicle had very low brakes. I'd have to press the break very low to the floor to stop. When I lost the brakes I'm the car I initially thought the cause was due to bad calipers and rotors. After replacing all calipers under warranty and bleeding that was not the issue. Towed the car to torrington Ford and it was diagnosed as needing a master cylinder first which may not fix the problem and then a possible hcu replacement of the master cylinder doesn't correct he brake issue.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle would not immediately stop and the pedal traveled to the floorboard and felt spongy. The vehicle was examined by an independent mechanic who replaced the brake pads and master cylinder, but the failure continued. The mechanic determined that the ABS was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not contacted. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 140,000.
