My 2018 F250 4X4 crew cab has 25,500 miles on it and has been in and out of the Ford dealer several times due to the "death wobble" issue. I almost lost control of the vehicle when it happened after hitting a small separating in the concrete on 1-75. The front end and steering wheel began to shake uncontrollably and the truck immediately begin to pull to the right. Luckily there was not a car in the right lane because there would have been an accident. As a result of this incident, I was immediately forced to pull off the road and stop the vehicle to access the situation. I got out to inspect all four tires thinking that I might have a flat tire. That was not the case. Ford should not be selling this vehicle at all until there is a design change to the front suspension. If my wife was driving when this happened I fear that she could of lost control and ended up in a major accident.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-250. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19V278000 (engine, equipment). The contact stated while driving 70 mph, the vehicle went over bump in the road and experienced the death wobble. The contact depressed the brake pedal and regained control of the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure recurred five minutes later and regained control of the vehicle by depressing the brake pedal to reduce the speed of the vehicle. Columbia Ford Kia located at (234 willimantic rd, columbia, ct 06237), was contacted and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was informed of failure. The failure mileage was 9,300.
It's called death wobble. 30,000 miles on truck. It has happen twice, once at a full stop, I started crossing a 4 lane highway and the whole front suspension started vibrating violently. I had no control. If another car was coming it could have been a wreck as I had no way of steering. I was only doing between 5 & 10 miles per hour. I had to come to a complete stop. The second time was today with 40,000 miles. I was going 65 mph down a two lane highway, when it started vibrating out of control. Thankfully I was able to come to a complete stop in the middle of the highway without hitting or someone hitting me. I'm now afraid to drive this truck. Ford refused to fix the problem. What will it take, or how many people will get hurt.
While driving on I90 East bound in burns harbor Indiana near the burns harbor exit driving straight at 70mph my truck began to shake violently and dangerously. I had to apply the brakes and slow down below 30mph to get the shaking to subside. On my return trip again on interstate 90 approaching calumet avenue in Indiana I tapped the brake to turn off the cruise control while driving straight and the truck again shook so violently that I had to stop right on interstate 90 as I did not have much time to try and get to the shoulder. Luckily there was not any vehicles behind me. My F250 has 14,860 miles. I have owned it since new. This was the first time anything like this has happened. The conditions were sunny and dry, temp in the 50's. please look into this problem as serious injuries could have occurred.

This has happened on multiple occasions, when driving at highway speed, around 70 mph, if a pot hole or rough pavement in encountered the vehicle's front end begins to violentlyshake. The truck only has 25,000 miles on it. This is commonly known as the "death wobble." This is extremely dangerous to those in the truck and surrounding motorists as the only way to stop it is to slow down to around 20 mph, which is dangerous if there is heavy traffic, say on an interstate. Ford is well aware of the problem but has offered no definitive fixes. A solution and recall are needed as if this issue has not killed someone already, it will. Please force Ford to solve this issue.

The brake pedal was depressed and as the speed was reduced the vehicle became more controllable. The contact stated that the failure was experienced intermittently. Al packer's white marsh Ford located at 9801 pulaski hwy, middle river, md 21220, was contacted and an appointment was scheduled to have the vehicle diagnosed which was still pending. The manufacture was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 9,800.
Truck experiences "death wobble" when traveling at highway speeds. Massive vibration that results in a temporary loss of control only resolved through lower speed.
I have a 2018 Ford F-250 super crew 4X4 with 26,000 miles on it. I bought it as a certified pre-owned vehicle with approx. 13,000 miles on it. Within the last 30 days, I have experienced on 2 occasions a major shake in the front end. In both cases, I was driving on the interstate at highway speeds of 70-75 mph. The problem occurred when driving over a rough spot in the roadway. After the 2nd. Occurrence, I took it to a Ford dealership and they found tsb 19-2392 which outlines updated track bar and directs replacement. Within 500 miles since the replacement, I experienced once again the same problem. I have since learned that this is referred too as a "death wobble". I have searched and found several articles under this term on this same vehicle. Why hasn't this been addressed by the manufacturer by now? my work requires my ability to travel and I see no way how I can consciously consider myself a safe driver to others on busy roadways out there while driving near me should this occur again.
I just crossed over 15,500 miles and experienced the death wobble when going over a bridge. Will call dealer Monday. This needs to be a mandatory recall as the steering wheel is literally jerked out of my hand. I was going approximately 50 mph.
On 2 occasions driving at approximately 75 mph - after hitting a minor rough patch in the road the truck / steering / front end began violently vibrate. I thought the truck was coming apart. After stopping on the side of the interstate and expecting the vehicle I couldn't find anything wrong. I thought after the first occurrence that it must have been a fluke. After the second time I realized that something must be wrong so I started some research on the internet. I discovered hundreds / thousands of people complaining of the same thing... "death wobble." I testify this is a very real problem and these trucks are dangerous.
While driving at interstate speeds the front end started to shake violently and without any reason. The vehicle was hard to control and was forced to slow down rapidly to regain control. This was the first time I had ever heard of "death wobble" this was a scary event considering I had no idea this could ever happen
Whenever I drive at a high rate of speed (65mph+) and a slight bump or a bridge joint connection, it sends the truck into an uncontrollable shaking of the steering wheel causing loss of control. I bought this truck 3 days ago and am already experiencing the 'death wobble' problem. I am genuinely concerned for the safety of myself, family, and other motorists on the road.

Truck is vibrating and wobbling while driving. Issue is causing loss of control of the vehicle which could easily result in a serious accident. I called Ford and they had us take it in on 01/19/2020 to have it repaired under warranty. Evidently this is an issue with this truck and is under recall. The truck was said to have been repaired but the vibration and wobbling happened again today 01/28/2020 which was seriously scary. The driver had to fight with the steering wheel to try to keep the truck on the road. I called Ford today to have the truck taken in tomorrow but I am concerned with the fact that many others are stating that this issue is not getting repaired properly and the issue keeps occurring after repair has taken place. I would like to know what can be done if this is not corrected this time. This truck is not safe to drive.
Purchased vehicle in 06/2018. Contacted spike's Ford around 11/25/2019. Advised service department that vehicle would go into a death wobble every time it hit a bump as I was driving on the highway. The truck would shake and bounce uncontrollably. It could only be stopped by braking to bring down the speed. This could cause a injury or death to myself or others on the road. There are defects in the steering damper. They finally called me on 01/27/2020 to have it repaired because they did not have the part in stock, and were backlogged with service for the same reason on other customers.
At approx. 65 mph, after hitting a small rough spot on the dry paved highway, the truck began vibrating excessively in the front end. I was driving straight and level in a place where I've routinely travelled for several months. I had to immediately apply the brakes to decelerate and stop the shimmy. Fortunately traffic was mild at the time and nothing else happened. It happened at approx 24000 miles on the odometer and has reoccurred five times in the last two weeks in different locations at highway speeds. I have scheduled a service appt with the local Ford dealer to try and figure out what's wrong. The service agent at the dealer referred to it as the 'death wobble'!
Traveling at highway speed and hit a pot hole in the roadway. Experience the death wobble. Vehicle began violently shaking and had to slow vehicle speed to under 50 mph to regain control of the vehicle. 1st time was on I 70 traveling at approximately 75 mph and the second was on highway 25 in Kansas traveling at approximately 68 mph.
At freeway speeds my truck has started shaking violently from the front end of the truck. It has now done this to me 5 times. I have found out this is known as the Ford death wobble.
