My 2018 F250 king ranch has started the death wobble at just over 55,000 miles. It has done it at least 5 times now going 60-75mph if I hit a bump or pothole. When it starts, the steering wheel shakes back and forth and the vehicle can not be controlled until I slow to almost a complete stop. The most recent time, I almost hit a guard rail. I have taken the truck back to my local Ford dealership and they agreed to replace the steering damper, but told me the part was on backorder. I ended up getting one from Napa and replaced it on my own, I do not feel safe driving this truck. Ford has a problem and refuses to acknowledge it.

I am experiencing the Ford "death wobble". I have a 2018 F250 with 44K miles, well cared for. Reading multiple forums, there appears to be no resolution. People have spent tons of money taking their trucks back and forth to the dealership. I have experienced the wobble three times in less than a week. Occurs after bumpy roads. Taking to dealership to try and resolve issue.

I have experienced violent shaking from the front end of the vehicle at highway speeds (the "death wobble". vehicle was taken to the dealership, and steering dampener installed. The issue persisted, so I returned to the dealership and the exact same part was replaced. Problem is worse than ever. Serious safety hazard.

Death wobble or steering oscillation. Hitting rough pavement or bump or 45 can cause the front end to wobble uncontrollably. I was driving on the highway at 75 mph when it first occurred. It happened several times after that at the same speed before my appt. With the dealer. I took the vehicle to Ford for repair. The replaced the steering damper but did nothing else. The problem then occurred again aproximately 1 month later. I have another appt. With then next week. They want me to ride with them. Apparently they don't believe me that it happened again.

I replaced tires and still wobble and shake? the dealer where I bought the truck is george wall Ford they admitted to me that it is a major problem and I should buy a new truck from them and they would take my truck for a trade? but at a loss to my wallet" they

While traveling on interstate at highway speeds (65-75mph), a violent shaking and vibration began suddenly. Potholes or sudden jarring, such as traveling over a bridge expansion joint, seems to trigger the incidents. The vehicle continues to shudder and vibrate with such intensity, it makes steering and even holding the steering wheel tenuous and unpredictable. The vibration doesn't disappear until the vehicle has slowed to less than 40 mph. It is a terrifying loss of control while moving at high speed. Rough pavement or transitions in the paving surface seems to trigger it. It has begun at speeds as low as 60mph and as high as 75mph. I have video which shows the effect inside the passenger compartment. This is a 2018 F250 with 46K miles and fully stock everything. Never been modified or used for heavy off road or towing use.

The front end shakes or wobbles violently at normal highway speeds after hitting even the slightest bump making it hard to maintain control of the vehicle. I received a recall notice from the manufacture to address this issue and had the vehicle repaired under this recall however, the problem persist.

Erratic steering and vibration between 40-60 mph. This has been called the 'death wobble'. there are currently several lawsuits with Ford. Took my truck to Ford dealer last week for safety recall for replacement of damper assembly but still experience worst problem of wobble. Had to emergency stop almost causing an accident. Incident occurred in the interstate.

My 2018 F250 6.7 L diesel began to shake violently when drive on a flat surface highway at approx 55 mph. Steering wheel shook violently and I lost control. Here's in to on coming traffic lane. Just missing a head-on collision with another vehicle. Front wheels and steering wheel did not stop shaking until a slowed to 20 mph. Hapen with no large bumps. Normal highway conditions. Hapoen again the same day. Both were on straight roads. Appears this condition is referred to as the death wobble.

Drastic shaking of the front end/steering wheel when hitting bumps in road over 60 mph - subsides after you brake to about 40 mph. Very hard to control vehicle when it occurs.

The truck went into a "death wobble" at 65 miles per hour when it hits a bump in the road. This has happened on numerous occasions with no warning. The steering wheel will violently whip back and forth and the all you can do is get the truck stopped.

While driving on interstate highway 70 in the middle of denver, we hit a small expansion joint. The steering wheel was shaking so violently I couldn't hardly keep a hold of it to steer. I began braking and when I got down to 25 mph it stopped. My speed wasn't excessive, I was doing the 65 mph limit. It has done this "death wobble" twice since then, and now I am apprehensive to drive it on the interstate. I will make an appointment with our local Ford dealer soon to look it over, but honestly I don't have any hopes to a remedy. I was hoping to report this, and hopefully with the many others that are having the same issue, Ford may have to recall these trucks. Unfortunately, someone will have to perish to get any action from Ford. Thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

My vehicle has been in the dealer four times to correct what is known as the death wobble. Ford calls it steering oscillation. The death wobble occurs at highway speeds after I drive over a pot hole, expansion joint in a bridge that is not perpendicular or any road abnormality. After multiple Ford dealers repaired it I have had no issues. However, after 5,000 to 10,000 miles the death wobble begins to happen. I've escalated the issue to Ford multiple times but it falls on deaf ears. I have had no modifications made to the truck to cause this to occur. The truck is 100% stock. Please help. I am a single father and this is my daily driver.

Truck experiences the death wobble when hitting bumps in the road. Truck shakes violently and must pull out of traffic to reduce speed or stop before issue resolves. No warning light indicators illumnate. Truck has 58,000 miles now. Issue began around 44,000 miles. We have short video but cannot upload here due to file type not being permitted. After seeing the numerous complains on this website, wondering why nothing has been done. Ford clearly has been aware of this issue and continues to sell the truck with a known defect and a part on national back order.

While driving on interstate highway at 65 mph, we hit an expansion joint and the steering wheel began shaking so bad we almost hit the truck next to us. The highway was so crowded all I could do was brake and hang on. Finally when the speed was at 25 it quit violently shaking. Checked the truck out at the next exit and found nothing obvious. On the way home, it did the same thing again with the same result. I have not driven on the highway since because I am scared that we could cause an accident. We live in a rural area with the closest dealer 75 miles away, I will get it there in the near future but my question is, is Ford aware of the problem" the truck has less than 15000 miles, and should not be doing this. We are in our late 60"S and I can only hope I can hang on if it happens again. Thank you [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Travelling along a straight section of two-lane highway about 50 mph and hit a bump or pavement fault in the roadway and immediately experiences a violent shaking in my front end like I had a blown tire. The steering wheel was also shaking violently. I immediately pulled over to inspect the front end. Couldn't find anything wrong.

The front shock absorber bushings are cracked and deteriorating.. Ford will replace them under warranty because they state that the cracked bushing can affect steering, handling and braking.. if the bushings fall apart suddenly the driver of the vehicle can lose control and crash and kill someone.. my service advisor said he has mever seen the problem before.. being curious I looked at other vehicles on the lot.. every single F250 and F350 vehicle I looked at had the same problem.. even the new ones with zero miles had cracked bushings.. it looks like they will fall apart and fail just after the warranty ends. A failed bushing can cause all sorts of steering ans stabilty issues. I thought someone might like to know about this.. im glad I noticed the cracked bushings before the warranty expires
