I purchased a 2021 Ford F-150 pick-up truck for my business in September 2022 with ~12,000 miles. I took it to my local auto mechanic on Sa-11/26/22 for it's first oil change & tire rotation at ~15,000 miles. Upon my mechanic rotating my tires, he found the sheared-off axle bolt on the rear/passenger side (pictures & mechanic write-up available). My mechanic stated he believes the axle bolt was over torqued/tightened in the factory and not a result of daily driving usage... Answers to Above Questions: > Rear/Passenger Side Wheel: Axle Bolt SHEARED-OFF; Pictures & mechanic write-up available > My mechanic informed me I was a very "lucky" person that I didn't get into a serious vehicle accident due this axle bolt being sheared-off; I was strongly advised by my mechanic that I should NOT drive my truck until repaired > My truck was towed to an authorized Ford dealership and is awaiting inspection & service (earliest available appointment is W-12/7/22, meaning I will be without the use of my truck for AT LEAST ~12 days!!!!!) > As stated previously, my truck is currently at an authorized Ford dealership awaiting inspection & service. Upon me doing Internet research, Ford does not have any listed recalls for this issue, but there are plenty of Ford forum sites detailing the EXACT same issue(s)!!!, so there definitely is a BIG problem! > There were no warning indications/messages displayed in my truck prior to learning of the problem.

My 2021 Powerboost F-150s experienced an issue where the truck lurched forward as if hit from behind after coming to a stop. This can result in the truck hitting the vehicle in front of you if you are in tight traffic. I dropped the truck at the local Ford dealer and was told it will take 1 to 3 months to fix the vehicle due to part in back order.

Rear Rotor/Axle Bolt Sheared. Truck not drivable. Dealers in area can't look at truck for at least a month and saying shouldn't drive it either. They won't order parts unless I tow truck to them. I'm having the same issue as posted in these threads and various FB posts too. https://www.f150forum.com/f129/2021-powerboost-rear-rotor-axle-bolt-sheared-515460/ & https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/f150-powerboost-axle-bolt-sheared-off.10392/

The bolt that holds the left side rear wheel to the axle sheered off. This was discovered when the vehicle had 9,200 miles on it. When the wheel was removed the sheered bolt and washer fell out. Based on the condition of the bolt it was apparent that the bolt had been sheered off for quite some time. This truck has not been off road nor has it been used to pull a trailer yet. The truck is a 2021 Ford F150 Powerboost truck Platinum edition.

I heard a very loud screeching noise around 4K miles and took it to the dealership, they said my axle nut on the driver side of the truck was sheared off. They said it was covered under warranty and repaired the issue. 8k miles after repair it is doing the exact same thing. No check engine lights for this issue ever appeared on the dash. Ford spend about 3 weeks or longer fixing this the first time. They promised when I purchased the truck if there where any issues I would get a loaner vehicle, nothing available to loan on the first time. Now that it-??s happened again I called to scheduled a time to repair and they say I can-??t even get seen until January 20th. So this truck has costed me a lot of out of pocket money for rentals.

Transmission keeps having difficulty finding gear. Repeatedly changes gears hard. Mostly during down shifts. When accelerating when it is already at a higher gear the truck shutters. Ford reprogrammed it. Still has problems. Says there isn-??t anything else they can do. I-??m just waiting for the transmission to completely crap to bed before warranty is up.

On certain occasions, the transmission will make a banging noise while causing the truck to jerk forward when the vehicle has to upshift such as taking off from an intersection but rarely jerks when the vehicle is downshifting. Also, while using the adaptive cruise control system, the vehicle will travel close to the right or middle lane as if it is looking for the pavement striping and then move back over to the center of the lane. With the adaptive cruise system, when the vehicle is supposed to be in the center of the lane, the system slightly turns the the wheel as if it is having trouble staying in the center of the lane. The vehicle also has a CSP for unintended tailgate opening. i have an appointment set for November 18th but have been trying to get in touch with the service advisor that was assigned to me multiple times and was told he would receive an email to contact me each time but he has not contacted me. The shifting/jerking problem has occurred only three times and the issue with the adaptive cruise system is every time it is turned on while traveling a multi lane highway that has a broken striped line on both sides of the vehicle. Since this is my only vehicle, if the vehicle has to be kept at the dealer, I would need a loaner vehicle to travel to and from work while my vehicle is being repaired. I only use my truck on paved roads. Date is most recent incident of transmission issue.

The the head of the rear axle bolt on the passenger side has sheered off. This is the bolt which holds the rear axel shaft connected to the brake assembly. This broke at least 2 weeks before it was officially discovered on August 9th of 2022. Ford has yet to provide a clear date on when the replacement part will be provided. They claim the enter axel shaft needs to be replaced and that the replacement SHOULD come off of back order at the end of October 2022. They told me this same thing back in August, that i would have my part by the end of August. The internet is ablaze with this issue.

On 10/22/2022 I took my truck in to the Ford dealership for oil change and tire rotation, upon rotating the tires the technician found the axle bolt on the rear drivers side was sheared off and part of the bolt was still in the axle. The dealership kept my truck and ordered a new bolt and gave me a vehicle to drive. My truck has 26,744 miles on it. I am concerned after reading many posts on Ford forum this will continue to happen after warranty expires. Some of the posts stated Ford dealerships were replacing the axles. Please advise thank you

The passenger side rear hub bolt sheared off. My mechanic found it while rotating my tires. I called the Ford dealership and they advised me that I am not to drive it and have it towed for repair. I tow a travel trailer which is within the limits of the truck and I'm thankful that it was not a catastrophic failure that caused the wheel to fall off and cause an accident.

I took my 2021 F150 Powerboost with Max Tow package into the Ford dealership for service and to inspect a noise coming from the driverside rear wheel. When the wheel was removed the source of the noise was confirmed as a sheered-off axle retaining bolt. I was told by the service department the truck was unsafe to drive. I am unsure if this nut holds on the wheel hub assembly but I'm guessing it could lead to loss of power in the affected drivewheel or loss of the wheel altogether. Upon doing some internet research this is quite a common issue with the 3/4" floating axle that was new to the 2021 model year for the Max Tow package. This is an issue with the drivetrain of the vehicle that could lead to safety issues for the occupants and others and should be recalled with upgraded/redesigned parts.

When I come to a stop, my truck will try to lunge/jump forward after a few seconds. It has been happening for a few weeks now. This could result hitting another car in front of me or potentially a pedestrian if I am stopped at a cross walk. I took it a dealer yesterday and they confirmed the problem. They attempted to reprogram it and said it fixed it. Later that night and again this morning, it did it again.

The rear axle bolts sheared off for unknown reasons. The symptom was a metallic rattling noise from the back of the vehicle - the noise was pieces of the axle bolts bouncing around inside the wheel center cap. The bolt in questions holds the rear axles in place. Vehicle has been at dealership for 2 weeks as they said it was a common problem that is a safety issue. Said it was possible for one or both of the rear wheels to fall off if I had continued driving it. Obviously losing one or two wheels is a huge safety concern. My dealer said he has seen this exact issue 4-5 times on similar trucks. Vehicle is less than 9 months old and has less than 13,000 miles on it. Vehicle is being repaired under warranty but using the same parts.
