Backing up into a parking spot. Hit the brakes and the brakes failed. Did not stop the truck. Backed into a pole which stopped the truck. Was in a parking lot. Backing into a marked spot on the lot. Fortunately there was a pole rather than a car or person there. The pole stopped the vehicle. Told my wife about it. She didn't believe me of course - I googled brake failure and then 4 days later I saw the report on the news.

The morning of 5 October 2016 I noticed my brake pedal was seemingly sinking to the floor while braking. It seemed like I was loosing some brake power while descending my neighborhood street at 15 mph. In the evening I was returning home from work, traveling 55 mph, I began to slow down for an upcoming red light and while attempting to stop at the intersection the brake pedal depressed to the floor and the truck failed to stop at the light. I rolled all the way into the intersection, but fortunately did not get hit by oncoming traffic. I took the vehicle in for service at a Ford dealership service department this morning. This vehicle was bought brand new in May 2016 and only has 6,000 miles on it. When I pick up the vehicle I will have supporting documentation for the required services.

You had to press your foot all the way to the floor board to stop the truck. Lucky it start happening when my wife and daughter were traveling at low speed, because if they were traveling at a high rate of speed or needed to stop it would have been an accident. Ford repair and said the master cylinder needed replaced. The truck is brand new with less than 6K miles on it.

When trying to stop at a stop sign my brake pedal went all the way to the floor not allowing me to stop in time and causing me to cross a major roadway; luckily there was not much traffic at that moment. I immediately pulled over and shut off my truck. Pumped my brakes and started it back up again. Everything seemed fine so I continued to drive it with no issues. About 10 minutes later as I was approaching a crosswalk by a school, a child stepped out into the crosswalk and once again I applied my brakes only to have the pedal go all the way to the floor. The vehicle does slow down but does not stop where it should. Luckily the child was not struck by my vehicle. I then took the truck to my local Ford dealer which is was diagnosed with a bad master cylinder for the brake system. No parts available as of yet and supposedly they are on back order. This issue needs a full recall before someone gets killed.

My 2 month old Ford F-150 lost all brakes while coming back from a trip this past Sunday. The truck is at moyer Ford in foley al. There telling me that they can not repair it until mid February. I have filed a complaint with Ford case # cas10736186. I use my truck for work and can not be without a truck until late February. I am getting no responds on fixing the problem from Ford, moyer Ford were the truck is or world Ford of pensacola were I purchased the vehicle. Very disturbing that Ford knew the master brake cylinder was inferior when they built the vehicle. People are going to lose there life and kill others with this problem. This is criminal and Ford should be held accountable.

While slowing to pull into my companies driveway off of a very busy highway my brakes failed. As I begin to apply the brake pedal it had little to no resistance and the pedal went all the way to the floor with almost zero stopping power (on dry surface). I knew I would definitely crash if I tried to pull into the drive at the rate I was traveling, so I turned up the shoulder against oncoming traffic to regain control. Being very confused because my truck is still brand new I went down many back roads testing my brakes to thankfully having no other failures. One week later it happened to my fianc while she was coming to a stop sign and was very blessed there was no oncoming traffic as the vehicle did not stop before entering the intersection. A couple of days later it happened to her again but she had began to apply the brakes at a much greater distance away and the vehicle was able to come to a complete stop before the intersection. The best way I can describe it is, that it feels as if the front brakes are disengaged and there is some stopping power from the rear with no loss of traction. I notified my dealership and was told they were not able to duplicate the issue. I just pray there is a solution to this issue or that it never happens again before me or my family get hurt.

While driving the vehicle at road speed (~45mph) the brake pedal when applied provided little to no braking. The pedal had no resistance and went all the way to the floor board. This occurred on multiple occasions. The worst of which was while I was attempting to stop at an intersection. This intersection was located in a 40 mph zone on a somewhat busy street. While attempting to stop the vehicle the brake pedal went to the floor and provided no stopping resistance. The vehicle rolled into intersection which caused me to have to take evasive action including pumping the brakes and veering off to the side of the road. I don't remember if there was another vehicle in the intersection. After this occurance I drove the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer was able to identify a problem with the master cylinder within 24hrs and then spend the next 17 days trying to obtain the part from the manufacture. Since the master cylinder was replaced I have had no additional occurrences of this type

I was driving down the interstate at about 70 mph and suddenly had to apply my brakes because a car in front of me stopped suddenly and when I did the brake pedal went straight to the floor board and stopped as if I was barely pushing the brakes. I had to push the emergency brake in to stop the vehicle. I almost had a very serious accident and if I had not swerved off the road I would had hit the car in front of me at close to 60 mph and my vehicle gave no warning lights or other indication that anything was wrong even after I found the issue which is very troubling. I had my vehicle towed to Ford and after further investigation it was determined the master cylinder failed which caused the brakes to not work properly. When I asked Ford if they replaced it with a new part that was not part of the defective line the technician told me they replaced it with a new master cylinder but it still has potential to fail as it is part of the defective line that is causing these issues and Ford does not have any other way of fixing it. I am seriously concerned with mine and my families safety in this vehicle as I have a boat and other things I tow from time to time and my children are in the car with me. I am concerned someone is going to be injured or die because of this issue because I almost had a very bad accident due to this. Please investigate this issue as I have tried to speak with Ford to get a new vehicle or swap for something safer but have not been able to get anything accomplished besides getting the run around. I have had my 5.0 liter V8 2016 F-150 for almost 4 months and 7000 miles and bought it brand new with 2 miles on it.

While applying brakes the pedal travels excessively until it contacts the floor board. As a result, brake application is lost. Contacted Ford roadside assistance and had vehicle towed to the dealer and was told the master cylinder is defective. This vehicle is a 2016 Ford F150 with a 5.0liter engine and equipped with four wheel drive. Vehicle has only 14,045 miles. Driving in parking lot and it took longer than expected to stop. Then driving on road at 35-40 and went to stop as light turned yellow. Brake pedal went all the way to the floor. Went immediately to local Ford dealer (1/4 mile from the incident). Dealer says master brake cylinder failed and it will take 4-5 days for replacement part to come in.

We have had the same issue on more than one occasion with the F150 brakes. Specifically, when the brakes are applied, the pedal goes all the way to the floor of the vehicle with no discernible reduction in the speed of the vehicle. In other words, the brakes do not stop the truck. It has happened on several occasions to 3 different drivers of the vehicle. It happens while driving - but not all of the time. On average it happens about 10 times per day when braking. It has happened every day since the truck was purchased, it happens anywhere form 20 mph city driving to 70 mph highway driving.
