My tire is ur bm 07459-3. don't know what this means as far as where it was made but the vd is not the only Wilderness AT tire with a problem.( dot number: 27907? tire size: P235/75R15 )

I was traveling at 3:00am on a freeway I was traveling about 70mph when the rear right tire began to shake I pulled to the right because my car began to lose control. I looked at the tire it was shredded. The tire was barely attached to the rim. This was a brand new car I knew something was wrong I called the dealer he said to contact Firestone I took the tire in for inspection he could not find any reason for the rupture so I had to purchase a new tire. On 7/22/00 I had another tire go flat same area of the car the tire had a puncture in it I replaced it again.( dot number: Tire size: P235/75R15 )

Left rear tire exploded at about 30 mph. Car had been started cold at 6:00pm and had been on the road at speeds of 30-50 mph for less than 10 minutes preceeding failure. No road hazard was noted. Sidewall spit open from rim to tread in a very straight line. Firestone claimed road hazard but replaced tire. I never saw, felt, or believed that any road hazard was encountered. This is the larger size tire on Ford Explorer and is not included in current recall.( dot number: Cant find tire size: 255/70R16 )

After travelling approximately 120 miles on interstate 55 the tire casing came off. Fortunately, I had slowed down to about 55 mph because I was in a metropolitan area and thinking of getting gas and going through a turn. I felt a shimmie, slowed down more before the rubber came off and control became difficult. I was able to pull over without incident.( dot number: )

We were driving 75 mph when the left rear tire blew completely off the rim, also causing damage to the fender. We had less than 9000 miles on the vehicle. At the time, Firestone said there was nothing they could do. We read the article about the problems with this tire, & feel compelled to report this occurance to you. We also would like to know if we are entitled to replacement tires from Firestone? thank you.( dot number: Tire size: R15 )

I have been an owner of the Ford Explorer Sport for approximately 13 months with the original Firestone Wilderness AT tires. On 19 Jun 00, I was driving home from work which is approximately 55 miles and driving 55 mph when I heard a pop and realized that my right rear tire had blown out. Fortunately I was able to manage the vehicle out of traffic and on the shoulder of the road. When I pulled over, it was apparent that I did in fact have a blow out and not just merely had run over something. The portion of the tire that was damaged was the sidewalls has several tears from the rim to the tread. I managed to get the tire changed safely and immediately went to the sears automotive department in my home town and purchased another Firestone Wilderness AT tire at $114.12 to ensure that I had a spare in case of another problem with these tires. I would like to have these tires replaced as the many thousands of other consumers, however Firestone will not be the tire of choice. Sincerely, Ms. Jamie M. martin.( dot number: Tire size: P235/70R15 )

Tread separation on two rear tires; irregular tread wear on steer axle tires; steering very irratic; vehicle pulls to right; conversation with tire dealer, dealer stated if tires deemed damaged would be prorated with replacement Firestone or Bridgestone tires. Statement from corporation said all tires would be replaced if customer dissatisfied, this is contradictory to the statement from the dealer. With current knowledge made it necessary to purchase new tires (another manufacturer) due to contradictory info from Firestone and dealer. We did not feel comfortable with their replacement products. After inspection of tires by service department of local dealer, we were advised to replace tires immediately to avoid accident.( dot number: Unknown tire size: L235R75/15 )

We are concerned about our Explorer with the firestome tires (wilderness) pulling our 25 ft camper. We heard the recall was going to start in the southern states. We believe we are more at risk for tire failure due to extra strain of pulling rv. We are afraid to use rv until tires on Explorer are replaced.

I contacted Firestone store in coos bay, Oregon about the problems with the Firestone tires treads coming off my 1999 Ford Explorer. I was very concerned about safety. Mr. Vaugn replied that it was Ford's problem and that he did not care how many people died due to the tire failures - that it was Ford's fault and not Firestone.( dot number: Tire size: P23575R15 )
