PE00 020; consumer's tires are peeling. Consumer will send more/ additional information. Firestone wilderness#at tires.consumer was inside of the Ford dealership. A lawyer in front of consumer also had Firestone wilderness#at tires peeling, and Ford service person told her that she couldn't replace tires because they were not from #dot vd plant. Her concern at this time was to recall all Firestone tires, to do the right thing. There were other tires peeling that were from other tire plants.

My Ford Explorer experienced a tire failure by way of seperation between the tire grove at a little over 11,000 miles. I was driving on the freeway at approximately 55 miles per hour. I called the sound Ford dealership and a local everett wa Firestone dealer and they both told me that could not help me. They both assured me that this work would not be covered under warnties. I was less than pleased with this situation, but with limited choices I decided to go to les schwab and purchase the cheapest tire I could find within the same size and used it for my spare. This seems like a pretty shotty thing to have to do when you consider that I paid $23,000 for a truck that was only a few months old. The other thing that disturbs me is that no one at the dealership informed me that the Ford Explorer was top heavy and that they tried to compensate for this shortcoming by reducing the air pressure level to 26 psi. A Firestone representitive informed me that the tire being a class "B" tire was not designed for this pressure under certain conditions. All of this seems very disturbing to me especially when you consider the 4 other recalls and warranty work that I am having done on the rocker arm component. This is my first Ford product and Firestone product. I am not impressed thus far and I think it is appropriate that I be reimbursed for at least the tire work I have had done. Afterall it appears that my family and I are taking all of the safety risks while using your products and paying Ford/Firestone by way of paying our loan. Go figure?( dot number: W2hlst38ij tire size: P235/75R15 )

We took the car to a Firestone dealer and were told that the tires are not on recall -- just the ones with vd at the start of the number. However, there are cracks in the tires and the dealer saw them -- said we should replace them and he would adjust them. This was two weeks ago - he was out of the tires at the time and said he would call us within a week. We have heard nothing. We are very concerned for our safety, especially since the Firestone dealer said the tires needed to be replaced. What we don't understand is why we would be expected to bear the expense (less his adjustment) for a new set when they are surely some of the defective tires.( dot number: Tire size: P235/75R15 )

The Firestone wilderness tire separated on a trip my wife and children were taking to new orleans. The Firestone dealer in new orleans stated that no adjustment would be made on the tire and at that time my wife purchased a new tire to replace the separated tire. Subsequently there was a recall on Firestone tires. We took the vehicle to a Firestone dealer who stated that the wilderness tire on our auto were not the recalled tires with the exception of the one replacement tire purchased in new orleans. Meaning of course that a Firestone wilderness tire that separated is not a part of the current recall. I am concerned about using the auto due to my uncertainty about the quality of tires and wonder if the problem is a design or manufacturing problem, that effects all wilderness tires and not only the tires manufactured at the il plant. Thanks for your help. If you need additional information please contact me.( dot number: )
