Dealer advised consumer to inspect the Firestone Wilderness AT tires due to the media attention, consumer found that the left front tire had a sizeable bubble on the inside wall prior to official bulletins, consumer replaced all four tire and request reimbursement. Nlm
Consumer experienced a blowout of a rear Firestone tire prior to recall notice 00T-005, the tire popped and came off the rim instantly, this tire had the vd serial number so the consumer is requesting reimbursement. Nlm
Rear drivers side Firestone Wilderness AT tire experienced ply separation in sidewall area and consumer had the tires replaced, consumers tires were included in recall 00T-005 and took vehicle to Firestone to have them replaced but since Firestone had no tires consumer took vehicle to competitors dealer and had all four tires replaced, consumer request reimbursement. Nlm
Vehicle parked. Been checking tires everyday. Notice slits all around the tires near the tread & the casing. Tires were manufactured in Canada. Firestone wilderness.

Pee00 020; vehicle was in shop for repairs. Mechanic stated that all four tires were showing tread separation. Left front tire was showing more tread separation. Also, fifth tire had tread separation. There was no injuries.
One of the tires began to split near the top of the tire by the thread I had all of my tires replaced before they cause me an accident I had no help from Firestone after I had tried to get them replaced at different Firestone, stores around town, if Firestone new about the defect as I think they did you should do something about it now im having problems getting my reinbursement from the tires I bought and I got a letter from Firestone trying to put the blame of the accidents on Ford or on the amount of air in the tire or that they might have been not properly fixed after a flat and thats why there have been so many accidents involving there tire. While traveling 65mph left rear tire blewout. Prior to blowout, heard a plump. Lost control of vehicle & ended up in an embankment. Then, slid between two trees after going air borne. Air bags deployed. Driver suffered fractured wrist. Tire had a "V" shape in tire tread. Vehicle declared totaled.
Belt and tread separation noted while refueling. Replaced tire. No response from Ford or Firestone on defective tire. (dot number: Vndl1px239 tiresize: P255/70R16)
Original Firestone ATX tires on vehicle, Ford Explorer 1999, P23575R15. Driver's side front tire blewout at 75 mph, tread separated, and consumer had to ride on the wheel. Firestone refused to pay for the tire and wheel replacement. Dot # vohl1py498.
PE00 020; consumer was traveling about 50mph on highway and it was raining, he lost control of vehicle and hit an enbankment. Vehicle rolled over three times and landed into the water. Front driver's side tire tread had separated from wheel. There were no injuries. Ford has been notified four times. Tires were Firestone, wilderness#,16inch tires. The vehicle was totalled.
Firestone wilderness tire failure-tread separation suspected-while driving left front and left rear tire failed-insured was avoiding another vehicle while on highway. Vehicle went off shoulder of road and when insured brought vehicle back to surface, tires failed. Insured then lost control and vehicle filipped. (claim# 33-0243-110)

Firestone: Insurd's tire blew causing him to lose control of veh. Hitting 3 other cars. One other person ot her than insrd was taken to hosp. Police report is avail. Damage to other veh. And drivers unknown. Info. Given by wife. I/D tirmomg rogjt pmtp rt 31 S. made a wide right turn and struck a lane marker blowing out his left front tire. Reviewed csr photos tire is a wilderness. Going up a grade with motorhome towing the 99 Explorer & noticed smoke coming from the back end. Couldnt pull over till down the grade & then the motorhome started swerving back & forth & the Explorer was also swerving badly. By the time he got down the grade he swerved & went up an embankmet & back down & off the road the Ford's tire blew off rim completely causing damage to seal between tire & body, rear view mirror, left rear door on motohome & more rec'd call from insd-he states he will going home to yerington next week and will get in touch w/his agent re: Damage to his veh and sub. Insd states that Firestone in newport (?) replaced all 5 tires, upgrades them, but insd was charged for some the replacement for the tire that blew was paid for in full by Firestone-insd would like to go thru his own policy and sub Firestone.
