My 2013 Ford Edge randomly stalls doesn't matter if I'm turning going slow or straight and going fast. The wrench light will show up. I usually stop, shut it down and restart it. It's pretty frightening. I brought it to the repair shop and they said it might be the throttle bottle. Got that cleaned up which was to dirty and still stalling.
I placed car in park on flat ground, took foot off brake, and car started rolling. This happened a few times within a week but hasn't happened since then. I had to use emergency brake when it did happen to prevent car from moving while parked.
Door ajar light and warning alarm on when all doors are closed car has approx. 38,000 miles and is in excellent condition. Ford dealer wants $743 dollars to fix!. should be a recall.
While driving my car the ac shut off the radio shut off and the radio display and the lights on the dashboard and the vehicle slow down at flickered off for a moment then came back on and I stopped and turned the car off. I then started it with no issues so I kept driving within less than half a mile it did it a second time and I took my car home and let it sit. I have taken it to a Ford dealership and they can not find the problem. This is the second time its happened to me since buying it used in August 2018

The drivers door latch latches but the light comes on and says the door is ajar....making me leary if the door will open while driving.....happens while the vehicle is parked and driving
The door ajar light is staying on, as well as the map lights. Runs the battery down. The map lights come on at will including during the night. Wife has gotten in the Edge and the door ajar light will come on and it starts beeping. Ford has been aware of this door switch since 2007 and refuses to recall all the cars and trucks that have this switch. I have gone on line and there are millions of complaints. We are if fear of this casing a fire or worse yet for some reason not allowing the air bag to deploy in a crash. My wife is scared to drive this SUV and Ford refuses to acknowledge there is a problem and a recall is needed.
There is a leak/crack in the fuel neck. Every time I refuel the vehicle, it will not start right away. After a minute it will start. The dealer recommended I spend $600 to replace it. Also, driver window is scraping when it goes up and outside decorative panel paint is fading.
Brake booster. I have new brakes on my car but still feel like I can't stop right away like I should be able to. My husband has a Ford Edge 2019 for work. His car doesn't seem to have this problem. Either does my friend who has a Ford Edge 2016. I can be in a parking lot and backup and feel like I'm going to hit onto the car behind me cause I don't stop right away.
The brakes started to become harder to apply. An air hissing sound came from the brake pedal. The car would intermittently be impossible to brake, but all other brake parts are intact (according to mechanic). The vehicle is in motion when the braking problem was noticed. The air hissing sound can be heard when in park and the brakes are applied as well. There is an acknowledged problem with this part in a posted extended warranty, but the terms of that do not apply to my specific vehicle. I am showing the exact same symptoms and I was almost in 2 different wrecks when my car wouldn't stop - and it will cost $1000 to fix! it seems if the problem is acknowledged in others of the same vehicle, it should be addressed in all of the same. This is a huge safety hazard.
The driver door shows door is ajar even though door is closed causing doors not to lock and keeps interior lights on when car is driving mode which is a hazard at night and drains battery when car is off.
Door latch sensors, door ajar when door is closed and fully latched. Door will not lock when you start driving and when you do start driving while the door ajar is on it keeps telling you to shift into park. You also can't lock the car with keyless entry because it says door ajar.
Driving down the 78 freeway in my 2013 Ford Edge sport when my glass panoramic rooftop violently exploded sounding like a gun going off in my car. Luckily when I swerved in fright no one was next to me so no one got hurt including me but it was very scary.this happened on March 21 2019. It is a very expensive fix for something that should not happen and not under warranty. I took it to the dealership the same day and they wanted me to go through insurance to have fix. I am scared it will happen again.
2 problems. One the door says it's not closed so it won't lock. There fore it won't lock any of the doors. Meaning I can't keep people from getting into my car. In my city that's a safety issue. People are always trying to jump in and take people's cars. We fixed it once under warranty but it went out again after warranty. Second issue is engine light comes on. It will be the door the the door will say it's closed next the engine light will come on but nothing is wrong. We've had it fixed and looked at.
Door latch does not operate correctly. "door ajar" light is always on and you cant lock the doors. "shift to park" light and bell comes on at any stop light or stop sign as well as "engine on" light and bell. Just a few of the bells and lights that come on.
When shifting in park the car doesn't recognize that it's in park in order to shut the car off. After trying to turn car off the shift to park light stays on. I have to wiggle the gearshift to let it recognize it in park or restart the car and move gearshift back in to park. Wiggle the gear shift to let it recognize it's in park or restart the car and move gearshift back into park.
Driver door stays with the sign of door ajar. It has happened on all 5 Edges of myself and 4 family members. Check on internet at seems to be a common occurrence in not only Ford Edge, but on Explorer and Expedition also. Believe to be a factory defect but nobody does anything which I believe to be an NHTSA issue..
