Right hand half shaft.. original safety recall 14S10 recently my mechanic found the right axleshaft leaking and copied the above referenced recall notice as it matches my make model and year as well as my VIN number. When I contact Ford to find out how to get this looked at they inform me I D9nt qualify for the recall because it's not attached to my VIN. The recall covers the make model and year of my vehicle so I have a difficult time believing that it's not possible for mine to have the same issue. My mechanic doesn't do recall work for Ford and discourages people to pay and hope to be reimbursed.
Takata recall- I have contacted the local dealership and requested info. No one has gotten back to me and im still driving my car not knowing if something is going to happen. Please let me know if my vehicle is affected by the recall
The door is ajar light on the control panel stays on when the door is actually closed. It keeps the interior lights on at night and makes it difficult to drive. I have researched this and there are a lot of complaints and request for a recall due to the safety of the passengers.
Driver door ajar sensor is faulty. Warning shows driver door is open when it is closed. Warning of fuel fill area. Door ajar warning occurs when starting vehicle and when vehicle is in motion.
I opened the sunroof of the car maybe 10 times ever since I purchased the car. The car is only five years old. I pushed the button to close the sunroof and I heard a pop. The sun roof will no longer close. The part that pulls the glass closed and open snapped. I was in a parking lot about to get out and go to lunch when this happened. I took the car to two places for repair estimates. One was my local Ford dealer and the other a collision repair place. Both places quoted $8000 to repair my sunroof. The car is only 5 years old and again I have only opened the sunroof maybe ten times ever. Now it will not close and $8000 is just crippling amount of money to repair a sunroof. I have looked online and see that many people have had this issue with Ford sunroofs and this is simply just horrible. Ford knows that this is an issue. The replacement part is over $6500 plus about 11 hours labor. Ford needs to mitigate this issue. It is an out rage that anyone should have to pay that kind of money on a five year old car because a piece of factory installed equipment breaks with minimal usage.

Driver side "door ajar" light remains on even when door is known to be securely shut. This signal enables/disables functions in the car. Safety is compromised when an erroneous signal is being sent, especially if children are present.
On 6 occasions now my 2013 Ford Edge while driving has thrown up a check engine sign and the car will just pretty much die while in heavy traffic to the point that I am barely moving. Then second time it happened I took it to Ford they said it was the battery so I bought a new battery and still since then it continues to do it all of these way before my warranty was up but Ford could never find anything wrong with it on the other occurrences. On 8/18/2018 the car threw up a wrench sign again while driving and the car pretty much shut down I barely made it off the side of the road before being hit by another car. All occurrences have been on the interstate had it not been for luck I don't know how I kept from being hit due to the car pretty much would only roll because pressing on the gas did not good. Once to safety and pulled over to restart the car it would start and be okay then several weeks sometimes months it would do it again. Last occurrence was 8.18/2019
Driver door latch singles adjust but closed. Leaving interior light and chin to stay on. Lighting at night on the can makes driving dangerous and the chin makeis very distracting
With the vehicle in park, and ready to start driving, or ready to exit the car, the "door ajar" comes on. If the vehicle is to be parked, the dome lights do not go out. If the vehicle is to be driven, the door ajar message still displays, a put in park message displaces and a warning noise is given. This started intermittently about two weeks ago and reclosing the door would correct the problem. Now it is a big problem every time the driver's side door is used. I see from on line this is a chronic problem with this make and model. This is a cost prohibitive repair when you need 4 new tires
As I was driving to work, my vehicle stalled on the highway. Without any check engine light or sounds the gas pedal didn't have anything to it, it just went all the way down and then died. The engine would turn, but it's as if gas wasn't getting to the engine and it wouldn't start. I tried a couple times to start it, no success. Still no warning lights. As the tow company was on the way, about 20 minutes later, I tried again and it started. As if nothing was wrong. No vehicles were behind me to hit me when it died and I was able to steer to the shoulder. I went to Ford service later on and I was told that since none of the warning lights came on there more than likely is not a code to diagnose the problem, but it sounds like the fuel pump. I now drive the vehicle hoping it doesn't happen again. There is a recall on 2013 Ford Edge fuel system, but mine is not one to be recalled.
The " door ajar " switch in the drivers side door is malfunctioning. I was told that this is a problem in a lot of Ford Edges. It is not easy to replace as the door has to be completely taken apart. Cost estimate is $400. To replace a $80 part. Bad design. Ford shoul do something about this.
Our drivers door latch indicates door is open, however, door is closed. I see that this was considered not to be a safety issue by you, however, at night the dome lights do not turn off making it difficult to see when backing up, etc. The door thinks it is open and my greatest concern is the automatic locking mechanism does not work on our car, hampering the safety of my grandchildren riding in the back seat. Please clarify how this is not considered a safety issue. Article: The investigation opened last September looked into complaints that the door ajar was always illuminated, making it hard to occupants to tell if the doors were properly latched. According to a investigation summary, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration identified 1,983 complaints for 2011-13 model year Edge vehicles.
My car keeps saying passenger door is open. But it is not open.I am afraid this will drain my battery so I disconnect my battery when at work and at home.
As I was driving down the street on a normal ride, all of a sudden I heard a loud explosion and then glass shattering. My sunroof/moonroof had shattered. All four corners are busted out. This was out of the blue, no other issues had occur.
While driving down the road the vehicle will exhibit a full loss of power. After pulling to the side of the road and turning the vehicle off and trying to restart it will experience a long and hard start. The vehicle will do this weather you are driving 5mph or 70 mph. This is very dangerous and has almost caused me to be in several accidents with my 3 children in the car.
While it starts intermittently, the 'door ajar' light is coming on ' and staying on even when the door is certainly closed. Over time there is no amount of door slamming that can get that warning light to shut off. It's most likely an electrical issue related to the switch inside the latch mechanism. While the door will mechanically latch, issues with the switch make the door appear to be open to the car's electronic control unit (ECU). It doesn't matter if the vehicle is in park, drive, neutral, reverse. The light still remains on when attempting to close the door. This has been happening for several months.
The driver's side door will close, but thinks it is not closed - so the interior and exterior lights stay on and doors will not lock. Driving around in memphis, tn with your doors unlocked is a huge safety hazard - am in grave danger of being carjacked at a stop light. It will not close to lock it at work or in my driveway - and runs down the battery. Opening and closing it sometimes 50 times (usually without success) is annoying and painful. I know my neighbors hate me making so much noise trying to close my door (that seems to really be closed, but some sensor doesn't think so). There are tons of comments across the internet with this problem. Why has it not been recalled? and if it really isn't closing, then we have a whole new issue!
The driver's side door ajar switch on my 2013 Ford Edge is malfunctioning. The sensor believes the door is open even when it closed, and it does not allow the doors to be locked while the vehicle is in motion. I have children and this is obviously a safety concern. The malfunctioning sensor also keeps the dome lights on constantly draining the battery and will likely leave us stranded with a dead battery. Multiple safety concerns here.
