CarComplaints.com Notes: Say what you will about the styling of the Ford Edge, but the bottom line is owners seem to love this vehicle. That is, of course, except in the case of it's dangerous, worrisome and unexplained issues with random engine stalling.
Our data suggests an early defect trend, as owners of the 2007-2008 models have started posting their accounts of what happens when you're driving down the road and the engine just stops. Some at high speed, some at low speed but always a random shutdown of the engine, electrical and power steering.
Time will tell if this becomes a widespread issue, but there's no drying the seriousness of the problem. With that in mind, we're flagging the Edge with our "Beware of the Clunker" rating until the situation improves.

Takata recall received letter July 2016 stating "on your vehicle the frontal airbag may rupture in the event of a crash necessitating airbag deployment. A reptured inflator may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants causing serious injury or death." I have called the dealership where I bought my car and where I get my car serviced once a month since July of 2016 and spoken with mike romano when he will take my call. Richmond Ford Lincoln. 4600 West broad street. I have been mislead, lied to, calls not returned as promised. For fifteen months I have an expensive vehicle in which the passesnger side cannot be used. To do so would be like playing russian roulette with someone's life. I need as I have for the last 15 months for my car to be repaired and someone to take this very scary recall seriously.
Takata recall we have tried numerous times to have airbags fixed but dealerships tell us they have not received the parts to fix airbags in the takata recall.
Takata recall I received a recall letter in July 2016. I just called the Ford dealer, and they said there are still no airbags available for this recall. My question is what is a timely manner? I waited over a year and 3 months and still no replacement. If this is a safety recall, Ford and its vendors are not making efforts to fix this. In fact I think takata and Ford are really not concerned about my safety...
Takata recall - I have had a recall letter from Ford since July 2016 and cannot get the recall completed. Local dealership now claims that I will be at the end of the process because of lower humidity here than other areas where recall needs to be performed. Dealership also claims replacement factory (to make replacement airbag system) burned down. I have not had a wreck to cause the airbags to deploy, but am worried about what could happen if this is not remedied soon. I have now received notice that takata has filed bankruptcy.
Takata recall I have called the dealership many times to have the recall done and they tell me the parts are not availibale yet. I want the airbags replaced before something happens. What can I do to solve this problem" can you help"
