CarComplaints.com Notes: Say what you will about the styling of the Ford Edge, but the bottom line is owners seem to love this vehicle. That is, of course, except in the case of it's dangerous, worrisome and unexplained issues with random engine stalling.
Our data suggests an early defect trend, as owners of the 2007-2008 models have started posting their accounts of what happens when you're driving down the road and the engine just stops. Some at high speed, some at low speed but always a random shutdown of the engine, electrical and power steering.
Time will tell if this becomes a widespread issue, but there's no drying the seriousness of the problem. With that in mind, we're flagging the Edge with our "Beware of the Clunker" rating until the situation improves.

This has been on the recall page since 2016 and we still have not received a notice to get this fixed. I am afraid that if we were in an accident that we would be harmed by this airbag.

Gary smith Ford, ft. Walton beach, fl I got a recall on my Ford Edge, took my car in and asked for an apt several months ago. Stated they could not make an apt. Takata recall I was notified two years ago that my car was on the recall list. I called the dealership where I purchased this vehickle and was told they would notify me when they had the replacement part. I have called numerous times and keep getting the same information. Takata recall. I have been contacting the dealership for a replacement. I have been told by Ford dealership in harvard that they don't have parts. I have been calling for over a year and still don't have this resolved.
Takata recall I received a letter yesterday, from the Ford Motor Co. The letter clearly stated that my vehicle was not involved in the takata recall, but to call the dealer and set up an appointment to have the airbags replaced. After reading this letter, I went onto the NHTSA website and input the VIN number of my vehicle, and found that the vehicle is involved in the recall. Ford Motor Co had misrepresented the facts, and I nearly threw the letter in the trash because it stated my vehicle was not under the recall.
