While driving, my son, who was seated in the passenger side of the third row, noticed that his cupholder area was extremely hot. I pulled over and confirmed. We drove on and I told him to check. It stayed very hot for the duration of the drive. At the first visit the dealer said that they added insulation between the interior panels and the coolant lines in the area, though as an engineer I understood that said insulation would do nothing if it were squeezed tightly between the panel and the pipe. We noticed no change and reported the problem to Chrysler, who refunded the visit but took no further action. A repeat visit to the dealer had them saying there was less than five degrees difference between the hot spot and the surrounding area. I used my infrared thermometer to prove that the section of the interior panel is over 130 degrees whereas the surrounding panel is about 65. You can see this in the video I link to below. This is a safety issue, as second degree burns can result from temperatures that high, and it could start a fire. Repeated attempts to contact Chrysler were ignored. Https://youtu.be/gtbecz5chtg
The engine would not turn, there was no warning sign of check engine for that day and for being a certified pre-used vehicle there should be warranty for electrical and the transmission.
I'm on my 3rd radio for the 2018 Pacifica that I bought new less than 2 years ago and the radio was not activated when it was installed on 1/8/21 therefore no emergency services will work. I have contacted the dealership multiple times without reply. I have contacted my uconnect case manager six times by email and left a voicemail. I have contacted the corporate webpage and was directed back to my case manager. Guardian services claim the radio is not associated with my VIN so there is nothing they can do. In addition to the 911 basic emergency services, I paid $250 in March for the enhanced guardian services, however since the initial radio failure in July, those services have not worked for any length of time. No one will take responsibility for this issue. If a cell phone provider has to overnight a phone due to liability in an emergency, shouldn't a vehicle manufacturer do something?
Very frequently the utheater application will not work after shutting van off and restarting. We have gone through 1 battery a year even though it is supposed to have a 5 year life. After stopping at a red light the auto start/stop causes the van to die. I had to completely restart the van. Out of nowhere driving home doing about 50 mph it flashed a low battery alert then died within 2 minutes while driving. Thank god I was only a block from home and it was downhill. My van just had the battery replaced again and again won't start. This battery is 2 weeks old. I had turned off the auto start/stop as directed by my dealership and it continues to drain batteries. After doing research I found about 100 cases with the same issues. If I would have still be on the highway when it died I could have been hit. This has happened about a dozen or more times in the year and a half we have had the van. The first time the battery died was less than 2 months after purchasing the van. New battery was put in at request at purchase. Died after going maybe 20 miles an hour.
The power steering is going in and out, both with warning light and loss of power steering. This has happened at various speeds and conditions and is very dangerous, not only when steering goes out, but with the suddenness of it coming back on. It can do it several times in just a few minutes of driving and worries me about transporting my children, but this is our only vehicle.

Number of incidents pertaining to stop and start system. My wife was driving our kids to the store when coming to a stop (stationary) the start and stop system cut off dead stopping (stationary) us resulting in almost getting into an accident. Second time we were coming home and stopped (motion to stationery) as normal and the system jerked and stopped would not re start, turning the van on and off van started again and the car behind us was traveling regular speed luckily swerved and missed up and this happened a few more time during the period from owing this vehicle till now. (less than a year) total of 6 or more times all the events that have happened the van was in motion coming to a stop then stationary at a stoplight.
The back up camera only works intermittently. Sometimes the screens flickers as if it is shortening out. Other times the screen freezes, displaying the initial scene behind the vehicle for the duration of the vehicle being in reverse. Sometimes the screen is blank with only the guiding lines visible and other times it is completely blank with a statement at the top stating the back up camera is unavailable. This is a major concern for us due to having small children, going to the school, playground, etc. The dealership said they could replace the camera for $400 but the issue seems to be a short in the wiring somewhere. As the camera sometimes works. One of the pictures attached show the camera frozen with a white vehicle on the back up screen. The white vehicle that is displayed is actually in front of the van at the time of the picture. This is a screen shot from a video.
I placed my vehicle in reverse to back out of a parking spot. The rear camera activated as normal. I completed backing out and placed the vehicle in drive. The rear camera did not disengage and remained on. I pulled the vehicle over into another parking space so as to examine the screen. There was an "X" in the upper right hand corner of the screen so I pushed the X as it is a touch screen. No joy. I turned the vehicle off and sat for about 3 minutes, then I restarted the vehicle. The rear camera was still in operation while I sat in park and the car idled. I attempted to power off the screen by depressing the radio power button, but it also yielded no results. I elected to drive the vehicle home as opposed to paying for a tow, and as I drove, the screen would transfer to a blue screen as I reached a certain speed, and then revert back to the camera view as I slowed below that speed. The speed variant was approximately 20 mph. As the blue screen appeared the words "rear camera not available at this time" appeared on the screen at the top. I again tried to press the "X" which appeared in the upper right hand corner to alleviate the situation to no avail. Upon returning home I exited the vehicle and proceeded to google recalls for 2018 Chrysler Pacifica's. I found that a recall was in place for just the experience I had with the camera. I contacted my local dealership who told me my VIN number reflects no recalls. I called Chrysler at 1-800-334-9200 and they too stated my vehicle has no recalls. I asked about the recall on the backup camera that I had read about and was advised that my vehicle did not qualify as it was a different radio in the car. It seems to me that this issue is now evident in all of their vehicles and should be covered under a recall, as it is a distinct distraction while trying to drive and may well cause an accident.
An error about the shift control came on in the middle of driving. At a stop light, the car's emergency brake came on and wouldn't engage, rendering the car undrivable. I shut the car off as instructed but the same message appeared and I could not disengage the emergency brake to move the vehicle.
Vehicle was purchased new in March 2019 off the showroom floor from a dealer in morton, il. It had radio problems from the beginning and was noted on my first service visit 6/4/19. The radio would freeze on the loading screen and never operate. I was told to wait for software updates regardless of the amount of pictures and videos I showed the team members of what was going on with the radio freezing and rebooting, not to mention the wi-fi issues. Fast forward to July of this year and the whole radio and associated safety features went out. I was driving 1,000 miles from my new house in nc back to il for a visit and 90 minutes into the drive the radio and climate controls all went out. I was then driving in the rain, in the mountains, without a way to defog my windshield. I'm very familiar will pulling the fuse to reset the radio (as noted in other service visits), but even that didn't fix it this time. For much of the drive I had heat instead of ac in the driver's area. Cameras were not functional during this time and the lane assist and cross traffic alert was intermittent. I arrived to central il late at night on Thursday, July 23rd, now 600 miles outside the 36K warranty. I brought the vehicle in to pull codes on Friday, as instructed. I was told no one could help me at that point and to just come for my oil change on the 29th. On the 29th, my comment on the radio wasn't even acknowledge by the service rep and there are no notes on the service receipt about it. On Friday, August 28th, the radio started rebooting every 3 to 4 minutes. I have no use of safety features or cameras. The battery then died from rebooting the computers regardless of operation. Both sliding doors were disabled. The back hatch doesn't open at all. Uconnect safety location features were not working.
I buy the new car on 2019, the car had 25000 miles, the first time, the car can not drive smooth, look like something is wrong, I took the car to the dealer and they checked and they said the car is ok, the second time, I drove the car on 91 freeway from West to East, the car shut down and can not move anything, I called the tow company to tow the car to dealer moss bros riverside, after 4 days they fixed for me, I came to picked up and driving back home, on the way abouy 15 minutes, the car had the same problem, it shut down and can not move anything, it happened on 60 freeway from West to East, I called the tow company again to the dealer moss bross moreno valley, the car stayed there 3 days and they called me that they can not fix the car, and they told me that help to move the car other dealer to fix it, I have to call the tow company again to move the car from moss bross moreno valley to moss bross riverside again, the car stayed there 10 days already until today on 08/24/2020 but they told me that they dont know what happened for the car, and they do not fix for me, the car stayed in the dealer almost a month but they dont fix for me, the car still have under warranty, but they dont fix anything for me and the car had 3 times problems the same things, everytime I had the baby in the car with me, and every time problems I also called the 911 come to help me because it took around 5 hours for the towing company coming to move the car, please help me, I dont know what can I
It looks like the vehicle's 12-volt isolator post is compromised and needs some work. The dealer asked me to leave the vehicle for 1 week or more till they can rectify the problem. I asked the dealer to give me a loaner vehicle. They then said that they don't have loaner vehicle. Once when the loaner vehicle is available they will call me. Until then they said I can take the risk and drive the vehicle. I called Fiat Chrysler recall line to complaint. They said that the dealer is not doesn't have to give the loaner vehicle however long they keep my vehicle for repair. They also mentioned that the final repair is also there when it is clearly stated in NHTSA website it is not available. They put me on hold for 2 hours to speak to the supervisor with still no supervisor to speak to. The notice that Chrysler sent me clearly states that the loaner vehicle will be given and the note in the NHTSA website says that the loaner vehicle will be given. The dealer says that the recall is not a big deal and the Chrysler also doesn't seems to be worried about it. This is a very callous attitude from both the dealer and the company.
Sliding doors will not close properly. Once the button to close is pressed, door will try to close, as soon as it touches the latch, three beeps will sound and door will open back right away as if something is jammed. This will occur 3 to 5 times before the door closes completely. Vehicle is stationary on a level road. Door module update is recommended by dealer. I dont think customers should pay for these problems.
On May 1, 2020, I brought my 2018 Chrysler pacific to the dealership for the vehicle to be repaired because of recall campaign 19V886000. It was supposed to be a simple update to the radio software. However, the entire radio malfunctioned when they attempted to update the software. The dealership said the entire radio needs to be replaced. They originally estimated it would take 3 to 5 days to receive a new radio. It is now June 18, 2020, seven weeks since I took my car in for the recall update, and the dealership and corporate Chrysler headquarters don't even have an eta on when a new radio will be available. I am concerned that they may not be able to fix my vehicle to meet the recall mandate and NHTSA's safety standards.
Since December 2018, we had to replace the battery 3 times since the vehicle shut off while driving on the highway. There was smoke smell coming from the engine. The vehicle was towed and problems corrected, but the engine light has been coming on more than 3 occasions. The gps system has not been working since March 2020, but they are not able to fix the issues. Our local dealership says that Chrysler has not responded to their multiple requests for the radio replacement.
When in slow or bumper to bumper traffic slowing down at a traffic light or to make a right or left turn. When you go to accelerate my transmission throws a hard shift like something just hit the back of the van and pushed it forward.I took the van to the dealership twice between February and May 2020 they keep telling me they cant find the problem.
We have a 2018 Pacifica with 10000 miles and on 4-1-2020 the check engine light came on as soon as it was started. We put the van in reverse to back out and it wouldn't go into gear. Ended up putting it back into park and tried reverse again and it jerked into gear moving the van. Took it to progressive Dodge Chrysler in Ohio and found it they need to replace the transmission vavle body and also something with the emissons. How does something like this go bad so fast...
