I have had several instances of my car accelerating forward while driving through city traffic. It almost feels like the vehicle is not properly changing gears or the start stop feature is making the vehicle stop and then start by jumping forward. It is a terrifying feeling when you feel like you do not have control of the car for a half second when it does this. Unfortunately it is an intermittent issue and I cannot replicate it on command.
Stop/start system failure. While waiting behind a schoolbus the start/stop system initiated. When I attempted to press the gas the car stopped - gear shifter was locked and would not allow me to move it even to neutral. The D gear was blinking blue and I was unable to either brake, accelerate, or turn the vehicle off. This caused a very dangerous/hazardous situation when in traffic. Eventually - I was able to restart the vehicle and disable the stop/start system.
The van stalls at all different speeds. Losing all control ad having to coast off to the side of the highway because the car has completely lost power. When I am accelerating, the vehicle is jerking around 10-20 mph, almost like a violent jolt. (at times seems like someone is rear ending us) the dealership says that everything is functioning as it should be. This makes me extremely concerned for the safety of my family and my kids. This has happened numerous times. Also the sliding doors open and close on their own. My 6yo was nearly caught in one as it closed. I have video of the car stalled in a parking lot as well.
The sliding side doors and rear tailgate open when I'm driving the vehicle!!!!! also when you push button shut the side doors they shut, then open again repeatedly, no obstacles or debris in the tracks, this is purely electrical on a vehicle that has 42,000 miles. The back tailgate opened today on my wife while she was driving, this vehicle has not been in an accident orw water damage either.

My car is 3-4 months old. Around 7K in miles on it. This afternoon car did not started, start button was showing as run created a kind of chaos in terms seems the like car is ready to run showing all run signals but was not running, happened in a parking lot so I was confused what state should I leave the car in as not able able to shut down the car & dont know whether it will start running by himself, switched on the parking breaks just to make sure it does just start running & ruins someones car, it was kind of scary. More scary things happened when the towing truck guys showed up to drive the car to dealer. He was trying to figure out where is the button to put the car in neutral, called dealership no one knew, looked at a video where it showed there is a small box under steering which has a ribbon to pull to move the car to neutral mode. When the towing driver opened that space there was no ribbon. These are part of safety issues with the car, tis time it happened in a parking lot if it would have happened on the live road this would have been disastrous.
Frequently the driver side rear power door does not remain shut. When the power door closure is activated, the door slides all of the way closed and then frequently will reverse, causing the door to open completely again. This can cause the driver to think the door is closed if a child closes the door or if someone walks away after hitting the power closure button, but may not be, causing a safety concern. I see others online are having same issue. The dealer indicates it is a firmware/software issue and is requiring a substantial fee to update the software/firmware to fix the issue. The issue can happen when on a flat or inclined terrain. It started happening shortly after we bought the vehicle new.
I was at a stop sign. With out any warning my 2018 Pacifica shut down. The knob to turn from park to drive or reverse started turnning by itself and then it shut off completely. A couple of seconds later, the van restarted and it said to press the ignition button to start the vehicle. I was at an intersection with the car on drive when the vehicle shut off.
There are two issues: 1) on city streets when turning the vehicle will not accelerate when putting pressure on the accelerator. There is no revving of the motor, no resistance on the accelerator. Feels like the van is shutting off (but it isn't). I can push the accelerator all the way down with no increase of speed. This lasts about 4 seconds. It has happened 3 times 2) the vehicle will violently shift at low speeds. 10-15mph. The vehicle acts like it is searching for the gear (slowing) and then shifts hard! feels like you are being hit from behind. This happens on all streets and at all times (turning, going straight) star case is open with Fiat.
On August 7, while I was driving on a state highway, around 30 mph, my van suddenly stopped and would not start again. I was stuck in the middle of the road for about 5 minutes while the car made noises and the check engine lights and other dashboard warnings flashed. After a few minutes I was able to restart my car to move it to a safe location. My "micromechanic" engine light reader gave me codes U0401 and U0100, lost communication with ECM/PCM and invalid data received from ECM/PCM- and said the car was unsafe to drive. I had it towed to the dealership. After about a week, the dealership said they rebooted the computer and test drove the car about 15 miles and it was working again. They said it was safe for me to drive and had me pick it up. I had the car back for 10 days. On August 22, I was attempting to leave work. The car was stationary in the parking garage. When I started my car, the same thing happened - it began flashing and beeping. I was unable to turn the car off or move the car. When I pushed the ignition button instead of turning the car off it would re-cycle and begin beeping again. I ran the micromechanic and it gave me the same codes U0100 and U0401 dealing with ECM and PCM. I had to stay with the car 2.5 hours to wait for the tow truck and the entire time it beeped and flashed - I was unable to turn it off. I had it towed back to the same dealership, where it still is currently. Both times this occurred the car was not charged electrically but had gasoline fuel.
The transmission has slipped and/or jerked on multiple occasions. As many as 50. When driving from a stop it will not go into gear for several seconds or will jerk into gear. While putting in park it will jerk causing it to jump forward which could lead to an accident.
The drivers screen (navigation, back up camera, dvd, etc) freezes regularly. This means that often the backup camera is unavailable, at times the movie shows even while driving. I have reported it several times to Chrysler's uconnect team with no resolution. My case manager is no longer answering my calls. I have videos of the malfunction. The dealership has asked me to bring the car in 5 times already, with no resolution, but their 'plan' is to just have me keep bringing it in but said they cannot replace the screen/device. It is a safety issue that I cannot reliably access my rear camera or change applications. I have videos of multiple imstamces
Whej I'm driving the van it shuts off while it's in drive. A alert comes on saying something related to fcc. I try to take a pic but it goes away quickly. It's happened at stops and while moving. Very scary. Chrysler acts as though they don't want me to bring the car in. Very dangerous and scary. I don't want to drive it. This vehicle is my daughters wheelchair van with less then 3000 miles on it.
I was driving down the street and the vehicle just shut off. A light for lane assist came on that said seek service asap. It went right back out though. I immediately scheduled it to be checked out. The dealership in hermitage, Pennsylvania said they had another woman with same vehicle and same problem. They were waiting on a recall to know how to fix it. Upon returning to Florida, I also went to the dealership I bought the vehicle from. The service manager had never heard of this problem. However, we informed him we had looked it up on line and this has been an ongoing problem for several years now.
We arrived home from the grocery store, I parked the car in the garage turned it off and began unloading the groceries. About 2 am Thursday, the indoor security system went off, saying "alert carbon monixide." I then went out to the garage and found the engine had been running for several hours. The hood of the car was too hot to touch. I then shut off the engine and opened the garage door to begin airing out the garage. Then got my wife up and began airing out the house. My daughter came over and continued opening windows to air out the upper floor of the house. I have no idea why the engine restarted or why it remained running for so long. I have since realized the spare car 'key' was hanging just on the other side of the wall to the garage, well within the 5 feet from the vehicle, which is necessary for the car to know the key is nearby, allowing the doors to be opened, etc. I took the car out the first time after the incident, the trip information said the car had driven a total of 120 miles since being refueled, for an average mpg rating of 4.7 mpg. Since the average fuel usage is between 24 and 31 mpg, I must assume the extra fuel was used to idle the engine for several hours. Since we were alone in the house there were no injuries, but had someone been sleeping up stairs, I am sure the would have been affected by or killed by the carbon monixide. I also feel that the information needed to go to someone other than the auto manufacturer.
When I bought my Pacifica the audio used to go loud and soft. The next thing that happened was the fm would flip to am and the radio stations would change, U-conect would call the last person I had called the day before, and flip to climate control. Then, it started stalling out at intersections, a clear and pleasant danger!!! the car was sitting at a light waiting to turn one time and going straight the other time. Both times it had to be restarted, holding up traffic. I am now concerned this will happen while in motion. Others on facebook have said this has also this happened to them and Chrysler knows about it, but can't do anything about it because they don't have a fix for it. I have had my car into the dealer three times now.
Intermittently when stopped, the car stalls. Messages flash saying "fcw unavailable" and "acc unavailable" "lanesense unavailable" service required. The car has to be restarted. I have had it at dealer several times and they cannot fix. It's dangerous as I have almost been rear ended at stop signs or stop lights since it's stalled. I happens usually right after stopping. There is no pattern but happens about 25% of the time I am driving.
Engine randomly stalls. We've had this vehicle for approximately 8 months and it has randomly stalled more than 10 times regardless of the scenario (driving, stopped at a light, parked). The latest incident being today, 3/4/19. This is a serious safety concern based on it happening while driving with our children in the vehicle.
The electronic auto start/stop is not working properly. When at a red light the engine shuts off and the car does not start again when the gas is pushed. We have to put the car in park then restart the engine to proceed. Chrysler told us this morning that it is a known issue and are waiting to see if there is going to be a recall on it.
The crash warning sensors will randomly activate while you are driving down the road and cause the vehicle to shut off. Has been to the dealer on a couple of occasions and the issue has not been resolved.
