EA94038, intermittently in a panic stop the braking system malfunctioned, causing the brake pedal to travel to the floor and extended stopping distance which resulted in a crash. Dealer could not determine the cause of the problem, but said it was unusual wear on the brakes.
While backing out of garage the brakes failed, and consumer had to use parking brake to stop. Took car to dealer, and they said that the power brake booster did not work anymore, and that was cause why brakes failed to stop vehicle.
When applying the brakes the ABS kicks in, and vehicle does not stop on time. Owner has driven into intersections numerous times. Dealer said it was 4-wheel drive. Owner did not use 4- wheel drive, and problem still occurs.
While traveling on wet pavement, trying to make a stop, intermittently vehicle went into extended stopping distance. Dealer called consumer and stated that he called the manufacturer, and they stated that he did not have to do the work free of charge. Vehicle was not checked/ repaired because dealer insisted consumer was obligated to pay.
The brakes feel normal when applied. But they lock up and there is a grinding noise. This happens on wet or dry pavement, the stopping distance is increased to 60-75 ft. Before coming to a complete stop. This has caused consumer to have two fender benders. The dealer has been contacted. *
When brakes are applied there is a constant jerking motion it has been going on since I purchesed the vehical there has also been a rubber burning smell around the left front tire area. It has been taken to the dealer several times and they can not find the problem and it is getting ready to go back again for a noise in the front wheels. Warranty expires in 10 days. I have owned numerous vehicals[about 25] and have never had breaks act like this in my life.
Anti-lock brake system activates as soon as the brake pedal is applied, pedal is soft and depresses to the floor. System makes a loud sound, causing extended stopping distance. Dealer has not been contacted.
Read on the consumer reports that a number of recalls were made on the Blazer. Have only received one (on seatbelts) no recalls on ABS or windshield wipers and washers have been received. Could you please check into this as to why the other recalls weren't sent to me.
I have had my brakes checked, replaced, rotars replaced. Sometimes the brakes do not stop. It feels as though something is turning, but not stopping. It has gotten worse with time. Whatever is causing the brakes to do this also seems to cause the brakes to wear prematurely. I have had to replace them every 6 months.
While driving at any speed and applying the brakes, the brake pedal was hard and the brakes wore out. It was hard to stop the vehicle. Dealer couldn't determine the cause.
