I received an intial letter back on 2/5/16 that there was a recall on the passenger front air bag. It has now been over a year and all I receive is letters letting me know that there is a recall. I think that the statement "excessive internal pressure could cause rupture...resulting in metal fragments striking the passenger or other occupants...potentially resulting in serious injury or death", is something that should be fixed in a more reasonable period of time. Over a year is too long and I believe that BMW needs to make an alternate plan if this is not/or can't be fixed immediately. I take/pick up my and other's children on a daily basis and require the use of the front seat. I don't feel safe knowing that this BMW's safety equiptment is not safe. In the latest letter I received it stated that if BMW was unable to remedy the defect in a reasonable period of time to notify the NHTSA - that is what I am doing.
