Takata recall - my automobile has been recalled for over a year. After approximately 1 year of the NHTSA website indicating that the repair part was not available for my vehicle, I discovered today on the website that the part is finally available for my vehicle. Upon contacting my local VW dealership, I was notified that the part is in stock; however, VW has placed me in "group 6" and that notwithstanding the part being available for my vehicle on the NHTSA website, VW has instructed the dealership to only repair cars in groups 1 through 4. I was told that I must wait until at least September, 2017, for the part to become available, which will be approximately 19 months since the initial recall. It is unacceptable that I have been driving an unsafe vehicle for such a lengthy period of time, and now that the part is available to fix my vehicle, I am not allowed to obtain the fix.

There was a recall warning. I checked the website and it said that my vehicle was affected. Feb 9 2016. But I have never heard anything from the manufacture about remedying the situation.
Takata inflators I found out today at the VW dealership where I leased my car that my vehicle is under recall for takata airbags. I have a month left on my lease, and I was going to purchase the car. The salesman told me that " there isn't a fix yet". what does that mean? VW never notified me of the recall. I am very concerned because it is the driver's side airbag in question. I am on the interstates every week as I am in sales. What recourse do I have except not buy the vehicle.

Takata recall. My car was impacted by the 2/9/16 recall of takata airbags. We received a notice from VW last March. The dealer has refused to return calls, provide a repair date, offer a loaner car until the repair could be made, they are also refusing to replace or refund fair market value of the car. My teenage daughter is driving a car that could kill her and no one is interested in helping us or providing a solution. After waiting 12 months for any plan of action from VW we are requesting help from the NHTSA.

I have never received a recall notice from the state of Texas or volkswagon concerning the driver takata airbag recall. I discovered the recall by researching online. I called volkswagon of America at 1-800-822-8987. Case # 170074388. They confirmed that the takata airbag recall exists. The took my information. I asked for a remedy. The recall fix is not available. I asked for my other legal remedies considering the recall has been since February 2, 2016. I asked for the airbag to be dismantled at the dealership or to receive a rental car until the remedy is available. A rental/replacement vehicle was denied. I did not ask for a refund as yet. I would like assistance with asserting my legal rights to drive a safe vehicle. The preferred remedy is a rental car until the recall fix is ready or a refund. Basically VW America said good luck- we will contact you when there is a fix.

Takata recall. Apparently my car has had this recall for about a year and it really bothers me that Volkswagen never bothered to notify me. I do not feel comfortable driving this car, especially with my family and I would have replaced this car months ago had I known. I thought they had 60 days to notify us?
