Jetta

Hairline cracks may develop in the accumulator housing of the transmission (mechatronic unit). The crack may lead to an internal leak, which, in turn, may lead to insufficient transmission oil pressure. If this happens, the transmission warning light will illuminate in the instrument panel. If the warning light is ignored and the vehicle is driven, the clutch may not engage. Failure of the clutch to engage may cause a sudden loss of power to the wheels, potentially leading to a vehicle crash. This recall for VW is number 34J6 as was to include VW Jetta hybrids for 2013-2015. My vehicle is a 2013 Jetta hybrid with the same issue as this recall but VW refuses to include my vehicle in the recall.

Concerns 2013 VW Jetta hybrid sel 1.4L December 06, 2019, manufacturer recall number34J6, NHTSA recall number 19V866, recall status: "recall incomplete, remedy not yet available, " summary: "hairline cracks may develop in the accumulator housing of the transmission (mechatronic unit), leaking and leading to insufficient transmission oil pressure." Still no fix available and no estimated date of providing a fix from VW usa customer care as of May 24, 2020. I am becoming concerned that VW is ignoring this recall because of the inordinate expense of repair. This recall has almost obliterated the resale value of the car.

This vehicle lost power as I was going through an intersection. Warning lights lit up like the fourth of July. It entered into a stall-like condition and could have easily caused a life threatening accident. Dealership found no issues. Approximately 6 months later, the transmission needs to be entirely replaced at a cost of $8,000. Usd. The vehicle has been well maintained and had only 85,000 miles when this failure occurred.

I have a 2013 Jetta hybrid that is having the loss of drive and shifting issues as outlined in the recall yet my VIN# is not one that is on the list. There have been several times while driving on the interstate as well as locally that the car will just suddenly lose power and I cannot get it back up to speed to pull over. The codes that are coming up because the check engine light is on are: Stuck in reverse, stuck in 5th gear luckily I haven't had any accidents. I have taken the car to be diagnosed by a Volkswagen dealership as well as an independent auto shop that specializes in Volkswagen both with the same result that is needs a transmission. I don't understand why it is not being recalled when it is doing all the same things that is stated in the recall and not to mention the safety implications. This is very frustrating when I cannot safely rely on my car not knowing when it will happen and if I will be as lucky as to not get into an accident. I really wish Volkswagen would do something about this, but the only thing I keep hearing is I'm sorry your VIN# is not on the recall.

My 2013 VW Jetta hybrid has 68000 miles on it and it keeps stalling while driving. Multiple times it stopped on freeway. There is a recall from VW and reason for recall is mechatronics unit failure. The failure of mechatronics unit causes low transmission oil and clutch slippage both of which can cause damage to the vehicle transmission. VW service says there is some internal oil leak and problem is not of mechatronic unit and I have to pay for replacing transmission.iam not provided with any specific details on the transmission failure. They say, "it's an internal failure", "its unrelated to the mechatronics", and "there are cracks on transmission". they have also said that they will not repair the mechatronics unit without me replacing the transmission because the mechatronics unit would have been damaged because of damaged transmission. There are so many problems with my VW. VW service is not giving clear picture.when there is recall and my vehicle VIN shows that it has mechatronic recall why iam asked to pay for transmission? VW service is refusing to repair my vehicle for the recall mechatronic unit and they ask me to pay for replacing the transmission.

Regarding recall 19V866, the failed part, mechatronics unit, causes low transmission oil and clutch slippage both of which can cause damage to the vehicle transmission. I was told by VW customer care that my car would be safe to drive while waiting for the repair. Now, both my mechatronics unit and transmission have gone out. VW refuses to provide me any specific details on the transmission failure. They say, "it's an internal failure", "its unrelated to the mechatronics", and "we can't tell you exactly what is wrong with your transmission". they have also said that they will not repair the mechatronics unit without me repairing the transmission because the mechatronics unit would be damaged by the now damaged transmission. The mechatronics system controls the transmission directly and has been mis programmed for the life of my vehicle. This incorrect programming has caused the mechatronics to cause physical damage to the clutch plates in the form of cracks. The cracks allow transmission oil to get trapped where it is not supposed to be and leave the transmission low on transmission oil, though there are no outward error codes until the car starts to have problems with shifting. That means my car has gone 162000 miles and the transmission has been low on transmission oil unbeknownst to me, the driver of the vehicle, for an unknown amount of time. Over 1000S of miles, it has likely damaged my transmission. Additionally, the damaged clutch plates can fail to engage or slip. This can also cause damage to the transmission. Not to mention that the clutch plates are directly connected to shifting, and if they are being physically damaged by the mis programming, I don't know what this has done to my transmission. At this time, VW has refused to repair my vehicle for the recall or look into possible damage to my transmission.
