Around 150,000 miles, my airbag warning light started blinking on my dash. It has turned itself off a couple of times but then came back on. There doesn't seem to be a reason for it to turn on or off.
The airbag sensor light comes on and flashes. It will shut off and turn on randomly. The wire harness under the seat becomes loose or damaged as the seats are moved and airbags are not detected. The light stays flashing and airbags are non-functional. Toyota knows about this but tries to charge thousands of dollars for them to replace their faulty wires.
My 2006 Sienna, airbag SRS light is blinking all the time, which means airbag won't be deployed during accident. This is very critical. I saw so many owners of 2006 Sienna complain about the exactly same issue. Why is this not recalled?

Airbag light indicator is on without the car involved in an accident. The repair person(delaer) checked it and says the complete assembly has to be replaced and he is not sure why it went fault. I suspect it is a manufacturing defect with the wiring
My 2006 Sienna airbags unpredictably become non-functional. That is, the warning light goes on and off at unpredictable intervals. I am told by the dealer service representatives that the airbags are non-functional (I.e., system shut down) when the warning light is flashing. This is a severe safety concern to me for the sake of my family. It is galling since the airbag system was a major selling point of the car. An estimate repairs by dealer is $1100 apparently included replacing whole airbag system. I do not understand why de owner has to respond for a secure system that never had used, and why the manufacturer not warns that the air bag system will degrade over time. The van is in motion on a city.
Airbag warning light on intermittently sometimes days other times months. Noted numerous complaints on the internet from other Toyota owners dealer squawks the wiring harness and airbag. Very unreliable safety protection.
The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated that the air bag warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed for code B0116 failure. The air bag connecter was replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 154,000.
The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated that the front passenger air bag warning light failed and remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who located a failure code and replaced the air bag switch; however, the failure was not corrected. The front passenger side air bag warning light remained illuminated. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 60,000.
The driver's air bag light blinks on and off. The issue was traced to drivers seat wiring. The seat wires are easily exposed. The wires get in contact with the driver's foot causing damage to the wires. This leads to a problem detecting a wight on the seat that in turn enables the air bags.
The SRS warning light comes on and off intermittently. I have read many online forums and this seems to be a common problem. I am hoping a recall will be issued for the safety of my family and all the other families out there with similar issues. I am usually able to fix it by jiggling the wiring under the driver and passenger seats.
Airbag light blinking for passenger side. Happened before. Kaiserslautern, germany Toyota dealership said if it happens again that airbag may have to be replaced and it would cost 1,500 to 2,000 dollars. Safety should be not expire within 3-5 year warranty. Should be lifetime until owner owns/has the vehicle. Should be fixed/replaced with no charge. On a different topic, the wheels/rims is another issue. It bubbled/corroded and Toyota said not covered under warranty. Constantly losing air before I bought new aftermarket wheels. Should have been fixed/replaced by Toyota also. Btw, daytime phone is address in Chicago. My number for germany is 011 49 6371 56000351.
The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Sienna. While parking the vehicle, it accelerated independently without warning and crashed into the contact's residence. The air bags failed to deploy. There were no injuries reported. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The vehicle was repaired for the damages, but the failure was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Air bag warning light started flashing indicating a problem with the side air bags. My internet research reveals that this is a very common problem with the 2006 Toyota Sienna, Toyota has issued two technical service bulletins but they refuse to correct the problem with out making extensive charges to their customers. My vehicle has been through normal use and never in an accident.
