The vehicle went through the garage door and only stopped after crashing into the inside garage wall. The contact stated that there were skid marks on the floor in the garage. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was damaged. The vehicle was inspected by several friends with automotive knowledge however, a determination was not made as to the cause of the failure. The driver was taken to the Emergency Room for minor contusions to the face and lower back pain. The CT scan showed no major injury or broken bones. There was no police report filed. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle remained inside the garage with the garage door not fully functionable. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V890000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) after researching online however, the VIN was not included. The contact was also concerned that the Forward Collision Avoidance System failed to operate as designed. The contact stated that there was a prior failure several months ago while his father was making a right turn and attempting to stop the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to stop and rear-ended the vehicle in front. There were no injuries to either drivers. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure and a case was filed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.

The contact stated he continued to depress the brake pedal and upon reaching a hill, he used the parking brake to slow and park the vehicle on the side of the road. The contact stated he called a towing company but after four hours of waiting, his wife drove to the location and assisted by driving bumper to bumper to the local dealer at slow speeds. The local dealer diagnosed the vehicle and informed the contact that the brake vacuum pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V211000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 255,000. The Vin was invalid.

The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V682000 (Fuel System, Gasoline), and the vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be repaired. Upon return of the vehicle, the contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact's mother had accelerated at a stoplight and the brake pedal had failed to operate as needed upon depression. The same -??Low Braking Power" warning light was illuminated. Her mother also stated that the "stop in a safe place" and "maintenance required" messages also appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was driven to the contact's home without the proper braking functionality. The same dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a diagnostic fee. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 8. Consumer would like to add after picking up the car from dealer there has been excessive amount of oil leak which dealer has not mentioned.

The contact's husband order the vacuum pump and replaced it himself. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the camshaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 92,000.
