Owners are being caught off-guard with how quickly their cars are running out of oil. No leaks, no spills, just 1 quart of vanishing oil in as little as 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains this is “normal†for the 2AZ-FE engine, even though they issued a TSB for the problem in August of 2011.

I was travel on the belt around richmond (295) headed South at approx. 70 mph and the back window was slightly cracked open. There was an explosion like sound going off and then I noticed that there was a hole in my sun roof. This occurred on 19 Oct 2017 @ 1800hrs. I looked for a rock or any other object that could have caused it and nothing was found.
My dashboard is very sticky and melting. The sticky dashboard has a glare in the windshield and is very dangerous. I could hardly see where I'm going when the sun is shining. The glare from the dashboard shines in my face and sometimes blinds me. Please fix this issue.
I'm an owner of a Toyota Camry 2009 my name is [xxx] I have just learned today that there is a recall and I'm asking for help with the oil problem. I'm adding quarts of oil and before the maintenance date for an oil change I am being told there's no oil in your engine. While driving at various speeds the speedometer goes to 0 even though the car is still performing and accelerating. The ABS and brake lights come on. It seems like this is a known issue and should be recalled and repaired by Toyota.

Takata recall 1) the stickyness of the dashboard, and (2) the shiny/reflective surface the dashboard creates, as a safety hazard. My teenage daughter has had the sticky residue cause difficulty in decision making with reflection. We are very concerned with her safety!we purchased this car in March 2017 from a retired owner.
My Camry burns oil excessively. I took their oil consumption test three times and each time they told me I passed yet before 2500 miles I had little to no oil in my engine. My sister had the same problem yet on the 5th time they replaced her engine now they tell me my vehicle is out of the warranty standards
Water pump was making loud noise due to poor assembly line supplied from Toyota vender for this specific model due to play in pully /shaft /bearing, finaly water pump stops working, if car is in motion, there is chance of getting hot and catching fire.this happened at 33807 miles on odometer.I also searched google lots of people reported issue with water pump ranging mileage between 33000 to 45000 on odometer for this 2009 Toyota le 4 cyl 2.4L automatic engine of this specific model only
Fast wearing tires, under 22,000 miles and dealer says I need new tires.I fully expected closer to 40,000 miles as standard today. Dealer says treads are "4/32 all around".
Sun visor on the drivers side will not stay snapped up, falls down inhibiting my ability to see safely while driving. I have to duck down to obtain a clear view of the road while driving.
Drivers side sun visor has almost completely fallen off. I have included pictures. This is becoming a safety issue as the visor now blocks my vision while driving. It will not fold up and out of the way. This has happened over 4 days.
Motor oil light does not come on indicating that my oil is low or out. I have driven my car with absolutely no motor oil in it, because the light did not come on letting me know that I was out of motor oil. This has happened ever since I purchased the car in 2009.
Motor oil is burning excessively I have to check the oil every weekend and the dealer says is normal, I think is not normal to keep adding oil when there is no leak. Dashboard is practically melting it was reported back in may because in the summer time it gets very sticky the dealer says it will take months or a year before they could fix it. Radio has a malfunction it was replaced back in 2014 because the screen turn black and not able to turn it on or off. In 2016 the radio is having problems again for the same reason and the dealer won't replace it anymore because the warranty is finished.
My dashboard panel is melting in my car. The dashboard is completely sticky and everything that falls on it gets stuck and I cannot get it off the dashboard. I try to clean my car and cannot do anything to the dash. I try to wipe it down with water and a towel, but it just pulls the lint off a microfiber towel and it gets stuck. It is really irritating and I hope Toyota fixes my problem and takes responsibility for its defects. My entire family drives Toyota's and if they do not fix this issue, we will no longer have any ties with Toyota.
I received 1st notice from Toyota motor regarding factory waranty extension because of sticky dashboard about 2 years ago. I received 2nd notice last spring and brought my car to toyoto service and verified that my car dashboard need to be repkaced. The put the line for replacement and they were going to notify me. It was April 2016. When I called sevice after several months they said it back order and waiting for the parts. Then I decided to call toyoto motor custemer service and they said my order was in the line and within 6 months it will be in service. I said ok. Two dats ago I called touoto motor and ask when my dashboard will be delivered. They said they don't know it is back order. They said I am going to be notified. I wanted to talk their maneger. They said their mabager will call me. Today I have received call. She repeated same things. It is backorder they don't know when my dashboard will be replaced. I am very frustrated now. I don't thing that they have plan to satisfy their customer. They just act like they taking care the issue because if court order. I searcged many toyoto owner are waiting for toyoto services call them fir dashboard replacement but I belive that they don't have any serious action. Goverment offices myst start investigation and clarify what action and how many cars dashboard problem have been solved after the court order. It was safety problem and my government should push toyoto to solve this issue. I will try to find the court, the federal judge and inform that toyoto lying many toyoto owner and they don't take serious action to solve it. Their only answer the it is backorder part. You have to order that how many cars' dashboard have veen replaced over kast 2 years. The number will give idea how much they consider this issue seriously. It is big safety issue because of shiny dashboard.
My passenger side visor just broke about a month ago. It's a 2009, but purchased in 2008. Finally got my dashboard replaced last week alf asked about the visor. Toyota says they won't fix it since its passed the warranty time. I don't understand why not since it's a known issue, and dangerous to drive with it down all the time. I've loved my Camry, but to spend over $100 to fix the visor is steep.
2 year wait for a recalled dashboard. This is absurd. We are a family of 3 Toyota's and this one is an embarrassment. Surely, there is someone who can get this fix done. Please call me, 772-924-5022.
