The windshield cracked from the bottom up, twice within 9 months. I bought the vehicle brand new. The first time, the dealer was nice enough to replace it for free. The second windshield has only been installed for about 4 months. Picture attached is the second crack. First crack started on the passenger side seemingly out of nowhere. It was parked in a garage and I came out after work to a crack 4-6 inches long.
Cracked windshield. As I driving down highway around 65mph, small rock hit passenger side lower window under wiper blade. And cracked I had windshield replaced with aftermarket Subaru windshield. This windshield has already scratched from the wiper blade which is brand new and has little few little chips in it..
While driving on the freeway at 60 mph, a small rock popped up and hit my windshield immediately causing an approximate one inch chip in the glass. Approximately 5 seconds later, the chip expanded to an almost 12 inch crack on the passenger side of the vehicle. A small rock should not have caused that much damaged to any windshield.
The contact owns a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. The contact stated that the driver's side front windshield cracked without impact. The contact called gerald jones Subaru (4022 Washington rd, augusta, ga 30907, (706)760-4102) however, the vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted nor notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,428. The VIN was invalid.
A very small rock that was flung from another vehicle about 40-50 ahead of me, going 35 miles per hour on a straight away in town, hit my windshield resulting in a small star which within about 10 minutes turned into a large crack spanning from the lower passenger side upwards toward the middle of the windshield. I've had 3 repairs done on the windshield due to pebbles chipping the glass, and now will have to pay for an expensive replacement due to the thin glass and the eyesight safety cameras.

Long cracking of the windshield after minimal trauma. There is excessive pitting of the glass for the age of the vehicle. Specifically, a 6 inch crack in the windshield was induced by a pebble while cruising at 60 mph. I have never had a vehicle with so much windshield damage per mile of use. The car has 12,000 miles on it, and I've taken 5 other cars well above 100,000 miles each.
I purchased a brand new Subaru crosstrex from the dealer on May 28th, and it arrived with less than 200 miles on it. On June 9th, never travelled on a highway and only driven on village streets surrounding my home, it encountered a chip/small crack. This was repaired immediately. I am noting that each brand new Subaru vehicle purchased has had a chip/crack within weeks to months of purchase. Prior to these two vehicles, I had purchased a Subaru sedan, brand new from the factory, and in the 10 years I owned it, with 100K miles, it never had one chip nor crack on the windshield between the years 2006 to 2016.
Driving my 2019 Subaru, Crosstrek in the #1 lane westbound on the 118 freeway utilizing my eyesight drivers assist and cruise set at 65 mph, into my office on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 @ 5:30 am. It was lightly raining and my windshield wipers were on. Prior to passing the tampa offramp, I thought I heard a "ping" on my windshield. When I arrived at my office, I inspected my windshield and could not locate any damage. The rain continued all day and when I got into my car @ 2:30 pm, I saw that my windshield had cracked horizontally on the drivers side about 7" long, 6 inches from the bottom where the windshield is mounted. I checked with Subaru about the gold extended warranty I purchased to see if it covered the replacement as well as inquire if my regular warranty would cover replacement since I have not had the car for even 2 years yet. I was told that the windshield was not covered and that I would need to purchase a new Subaru windshield for about $950 plus the re-calibration charges of the eyesight cameras another $200. I find this unacceptable that a windshield would crack that easily and not be supported by Subaru since the car is still relatively new. What are my rights regarding a windshield that should be protecting me and not crack by a tiny little rock determined very small since the sound was just a "ping"? please advise me of what I should do next regarding the replacement of this windshield. After a few weeks and ~400 miles on my car, I was driving on the highway and something small hit my windshield. Nothing showed until a few hours later when a crack about 2 feet long showed. At the time I thought it was a little odd that something so small could have created such a large crack. Then I read an article online and found out a lot of other people had the same issue, so I wanted to share my info in case it supports a trend. I asked Subaru what my options are and they told me it would cost $2500 to fix which I found absurd.
Premature cracking of the windshield in the driver's field of vision. This happened while driving at highway speeds (65-70mph) on I-80, when the temperature was approximately 35F. Over the next two months, the crack lengthened from ~2in to over 12in.

I purchased the vehicle brand new off of the dealer lot. I went outside one morning to replace the paper temporary license plate with the permanent license plate and a crack spanning from the bottom of the windshield on the passenger side in an L shape, up the middle, to the top of the winshield, approximately 45 inches long had appeared overnight without any damage to the vehicle occuring. I had the car less than one month brand new.
Vehicle was stationary, no wind just cold weather. Noticed a crack on passenger side of front windshield, starting below wiper. Car was not hit, no dents or any other defects. The car was purchased only 4mos ago and has 3,300 miles on it.
