The drivers side sun visor has failed multiple times. As I am driving it falls out of its housing on the vehicle ceiling and obstructs my vision. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the visor. However, it has failed again and almost caused an accident. I spoke with an individual that works for Ram and was told that this is a repair and complaint that they hear quite often. I believe without a manufacturer recall and replacement that this could cause a severe accident.
The Windsor shade flaps have both failed the drivers side pushed back into the slot has fallen out of the slot and has obscured driving needing to pull off of road way push back into slot this has also stopped the garage door opener to function
I was driving back from Montana and my passenger side sun visor disconnected and was hanging from the wire causing a visibility issue when driving. Approximately 1 year ago the same thing happened to my driver side sun visor. This also caused problems with visibility while driving because it wouldn't remain in the locked position. It would hang by the wires. Both times I had the visor replaced at the Dodge dealership in Prescott Az. I was told my the service advisor that it has been a problem and they have had to replace quite a few. I asked if they have fixed the problem and he stated that it hasn't and its still the original parts. This is going to lead to a serious car accident or death if this problem isn't resolved by Dodge.
Driver's side sun visor repeatedly comes loose from ceiling attachment causing the visor to drop into driver's sight line completely blocking forward view. It happens suddenly, often as I'm approaching a stop light, and is a massive safety concern. I have had several near misses where I've almost rear-ended cars in front of me. I reported the issue to the dealer at my last service and, while I was told this was a "common issue" with Dodge Rams, the dealer/Dodge would not cover the cost and it would be $500+ to repair with parts and labor. If this is as prevalent as the dealer indicated, this should be a safety recall.

While driving at highway speed with the sunvisor down, the visor suddenly became loose and hit me in the head blocking my vision. As I reached up to move the visor around, I realized that there was no tension on the swing arm and the visor would swing from the driver side window all the way to the windshield, this caused me to keep one hand on the visor when the sun was coming through the driver side window, and only one hand on the wheel.
Hi, we own a 2020 Dodge Ram 1500. Went to drive our truck during a snow storm. The driver's side wiper arm stripped its splines. Dealership says tough luck. You're on your own. A 2020 Dodge Truck. This is ridiculous. We have 2 small kids, and can't drive our new truck when it rains. Never heard of a new vehicle stripping the splines of a wiper arm, because of ice and snow. No one ever touched the wiper arm. We used remote start to warm up the vehicle, only to find out the arm was stripped when we tried to drive it. I've owned many vehicles, never had this happen before. No one I've talked with, has had this happen, even in the worst weather conditions. This is a Major flaw, and a huge safety issue. Thank you. The sun visors unexpectedly drop out of there sockets impeding the drivers ability to see abruptly. This is obviously dangerous. They are defective and this has been reported on RAM forums to no avail.
The driver side sun visor hinge point is failing. Without warning either when I attempt to fold down the sun visor or sometimes just on it's own it has fallen down out of the roof from the hinge point on the left side that allows you to rotate it to the side window if necessary. If I didn't have my hand on it to immediately lift it back up and from blocking my vision of the road in front of me it could have caused a collision with another vehicle, pedestrian or other object. I can push it back up into the receiver hole in the roof but it remains loose with the potential to fall out again as it has on several occasions. It has not been inspected yet. There are no warning indicators for this problem.
The driver side sun visor failed at the attachment point, left side while driving at high speed on the local freeway, obstructing my view of the traffic ahead temporarily. There was no warning and the failure was completely unexpected.
The drivers side sun visor can fall out of the mechanism that holds it to the interior of the roof without warning. This happened on my ex girlfriends 2019 ram 1500 and just happened to my 2020 ram 1500. The dealer repaired hers for free even though it was out of warranted because it was a -??known issue-?? according to the service department. Today mine fell out, hitting me in the head as I was driving and temporarily obscured my view of the roadway. The same happened to my girlfriend. If this is a known issue why has there not been a recall notice on this? Could easily lead to accident with injury or fatality.
BACK OVER PREVENTION: DISPLAY FUNCTION. Rear backup camera failed, requiring the replacement of the radio unit. A rearview camera that does not display an image reduces the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash. Specific to 2020 Ram 1500, but potentially similar to the recent recall of newer year 2022-2024 Ram 1500 / 2500 trucks [XXX] ). About a year ago the passenger side visor fell from the arm side and was dangling in the window from the cords that operate the light. I almost ran into another vehicle when it happened. About 2 months ago, the driver side did the exact same thing as i was approaching a stoplight I could not see and almost hit the car in front of me.
The drivers-side Sunvisor keeps falling down randomly and dangles in way of line of sight to the road. It will not stay up. The safety issue is while driving in heavy traffic in Houston, TX the visor fell down obstructing my view and I almost crashed trying to keep the Visor Up with one hand and avoiding cars changing lanes. I did take my truck to the dealer and they told me it would cost $180 just to look at and then they would tell how much it would cost to fix. I feel this should be a Safety Matter and corrected free of charge. I looked on the internet and it seems there are a lot of problems with this same issue. There were not any warning lights before or after the visor would obstruck my vision.
The plastic clip that holds the sun visor into the roof has broken after 32,000 miles of driving, when the plastic has failed he visor can fall out of position and into the field of view, the visor can no longer be stored in its correct position, it also needs to be held while driving so that it does not obstruct ones vision.
The driver-??s side visor fell down on its own and blocked my visibility almost causing me to lose control of the vehicle because I could not see where I was going. The visor will not stay up in the locked position. I can see wires and a broken black plastic part where the visor support is located.
