Rear window and 3rd brake light leaking multiple times. Rear window replaced multiple times. rear window leaked this time causing an electrical short draining my battery and cause certain electronic parts of the truck not to work properly. Cracks it rear window are extremely prevalent on this vehicle and it is a known issue yet there hasn't been permanent adequate fix by the manufacturer and isn't covered once warranty runs out. the problem is a composite frame to the window that is going to crack no matter what due to temperature changes and flex in the body of the vehicle.
2020 RAM 1500 with etorque. Truck 12v battery goes dead every 2-3 days. This was caused by a leak in the rear window allowing water to gather behind the rear seat resulting multiple issues including loss of control of navigation system, heater and radio. Dealer states water caused electrical shorts in canbus resulting in multiple system failures.
The visor on the driver-??s side has had a complete fail which causes the visor to fall down and block the driver-??s vision. This is a significant safety hazard as it blocks the driver-??s view and it takes two hands to push the visor back up so that it is not blocking the driver-??s view. The same thing happened to the passenger side less than a year ago and the dealer had no problem replacing it. For some reason they won't honor fixing the driver side. Even though it is widely known that this is an issue with Ram trucks. The dealer has inspected the vehicle and determined the part is broken but extended warranty told the dealer that I needed to pay for it myself. I don't have an extra $300 to spend on a visor that was made inadequately in the first place. Internet reports suggests this is a widespread problem with the Dodge Ram. Having a malfunctioning component that causes the visor to block the driver-??s view poses a significant risk that a driver could be in an accident because he or she cannot see the road ahead and cannot clear the field of view without taking both hands off the steering wheel. This is an ongoing risk for Dodge vehicles so long as Dodge does not produce adequate parts to repair the malfunctioning piece
The passenger side visor constantly disengages from the ceiling and falls down blocking the view of the driver. The issue requires taking both hands and shoving the visor back into the ceiling. This happened so often that now the visor won't engage back into the ceiling and the wiring for the mirror light has also broken.
Air is blowing out of Defrost on all settings. This is a safety hazard in the summer as when it is high humidity outside and the A/C is set to blow out of front facing vents only the air still blows out of Defrost and causes the window to fog up and obstructs the view out of the front window. Also during the winter when defrost only made is set the same amount of air is now blowing out at my feet. The main safety concern is during the summer for the obstructed view out of the front window. Had this looked at during routine service and dealership said this is a known issue and they have no way to fix it at this time from RAM.

This is a significant safety hazard as it blocks the driver-??s view and it takes two hands to push the visor back up so that it is not blocking the driver-??s view. The dealer has inspected the vehicle and determined the part is not working properly and has agreed to a warranty repair. However, the part has not been available for four months. The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the passenger's side windshield wiper and the rearview camera were inoperable. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.
The visor swivel latch to the headliner malfunctioned (without warning) when attempting to move it to the side. This resulted in the visor immediately falling and dangling in front of my face with an inability to see the road. I almost crashed into another vehicle. Research on this issue shows it is a fairly common problem on this model vehicle. After removal of the visor, a fracture of the plastic swivel is clearly evident. I have the visor for inspection if you want to see it. Unfortunately, my vehicle is just over the warranty period at 40,800 miles.
The sun visor both driver and passenger are defective. When driving any sudden bump in the road causes it to fall and impairs vision of the road. The sun visor is broken from the bracket which causes it to detach and fall from original place. When I spoke to dealer they informed me it was a common problem with Dodge Ram and Jeep models. However, they said since there has been no recall they refuse to fix the visor issue.
Driver side sun visor connection point failure. The visor does not retract properly into the stowed position during driving, causing temporary moments of limited visibility. Use of the visor prior to failure was normal. The same failure actually occurred on the passenger side approximately 1 year prior. However, that was more of an inconvenience than safety issue. A local dealer did fix, and the cost was covered by the warranty. No inspection has occurred for the current driver side failure as of yet. I am awaiting an opportunity to have the vehicle serviced.
Both driver and passenger side visors have broken at the hinge causing the visor to hang or fall unexpectedly, impairing visibility. Passenger side broke at approx 37000 miles, driver side broke at approx 43000 miles. When driver side broke, vehicle was in motion and driver flipped visor down to shield the sun. Visor hinge broke causing driver to become both startled and sun blinded, nearly causing an accident.
The drivers side sun visor will break loose in its mount and drop into the drivers line of vision without warning if the right holder is not engaged. It dropped on me while turning westward onto the evening sun. It completely blocked my view of the road and oncoming traffic. I had the visor open and hanging low as possible due to the evening sun.
This incident happened to me yesterday afternoon around 3pm in Syracuse. The rear heated/slider window exploded when driving causing glass to shatter outward from the cabin. I pressed the breaks when I heard the explosion and was fortunate no one was in front because there was ice on the road. Shattered glass was propelled outward but no vehicles were behind me, i was doing 50 on a 55, weather conditions were not great: 20 degrees and snowing pretty bad. I called the a dealership in Syracuse and they said they don't provide warranty to glass and to call the insurance. The insurance referred me to a shop in Syracuse (Safelite). The shop took me in and covered the area with a plastic wrap and told me that the glass won't get in unit l 5 days due to glass shortage. They also said they had a Chevrolet Silverado and a Ford F150 with the same issue during this week. They mentioned that all of them had one thing in common; rear defrost/heated, motorized slider window. The shop suggest to only use the defrost for a short period of time. That if the rear defrost stays on a prolong time it could heat the glass to extreme temperatures causing this scenario. I was never briefed on this procedure nor does my user manual i dictate such thing. Upon checking online I noticed that this has happened a lot, not only the rear window but the sunroof as well (no defrost option). I worry about glass particles falling into body parts of the passengers or potential debris hitting other cars behind you. I have an appointment for Wednesday to get the rear window replaced in a Safelite shop in zip code area 20678 and have to pay a deductible of $250 for something that I was not negligence. I think these are manufacturing defects, nothing hit the glass and scared the heck out of me. I'm lucky I didn't collide with anyone when I slammed the breaks.
Driver side sun visor unexpectedly failed causing a visibility safety concern. The plastic holder for the sun visor broke at the base thus failed to hold the visor in place. The driver sun visor only see normal usage, pulling out and in and sliding back and forth. There were no excessive force and/or coercion. This is simply a bad design. This is a brand new truck with 13000 miles on the odometer. If this would happened during high way driving, it would have a catastrophic effect.
A crack has appeared on the top plastic frame of my rear window and noticed moisture starting to seep through. I noticed the moisture after my truck being parked in my driveway during some rain. Truck only has 13K miles on it.
Sunroof exploded while driving on an interstate. There were other cars around but vehicle directly in front of me was not close there was not any sound like something striking the vehicle. It sounded more like a shotgun blast and then broken glass and wind noise sounds. The vehicle is equipped with a panoramic sun roof, but only the sliding portion is busted.
The HVAC does not properly seal causing constant cold air to flow through the defroster. Being in Florida, this causes the windshield to constantly fog up with condensation limiting my forward field of view. This happens more frequently at night and in the morning. It does happen throughout the day as well no matter what the conditions are outside.
