Fuel pump getting stuck at gas stations. Yesterday it took an embarrassing 20 minutes, broken fuel housing and smashed finger to pull the pump out. Has happened several times over the 6 months I have owned this truck.

I have a Dodge 2017 1500 series pickup. It is equipped with Goodyear Wrangler sr-a P275/60R20 tires. After returning from a trip I noticed the left rear tire had an air leak. I took it to a tire repair shop and they removed the tire from the vehicle. It had very unusual wear indicating the tire had a bulge and then suffered a tiny hole in the tire. Upon removal and inspection, the tire had split across the tread on the interior of the tire approximately 6 inches long. A review of the NHTSA complaints indicates that this same scenario occurred on several occasions with the same type of vehicle and the same tire.

My Ram 1500 just rolled over the 36K factory warranty and my transmission light cam and my fuel lever indicator failed. I am afraid that the truck will shut off when the fuel lever drops to E but I know there is fuel in the truck. Also when my transmission light comes on the eco fuel system does not work any more. No messages appear on my message panel. When the fuel sensor failure happens I am driving on the highway and I just made a left turn. I have also have issues with my radio turning its self off or adjusting the volume by its self.. I have also experienced my digital odometer reading to just disappear at random times. My transmission light comes on randomly. It is sad that I bought a new truck with 12 miles on it and now I have all these problems. I just don't trust the truck and don't feel like it is safe to drive. The radio issue happened the next day after I purchased the truck...I am so sick of this

Tailgate randomly drops by itself. Happens when you lock the truck. It does not happen all of the time. Can happen when vehicle is in motion. Tailgate lock mechanism is missing a tab that allows a plastic piece that controls the tailgate lock to travel to far thus un-latching the tailgate

There is one recall found on the records and it states that repair is required by a dealer. Will this be taken care of prior to me looking at the car?

Vehicle low fuel light come on when the vehicle has substantial amount of fuel in tank. Tank is 32 gallons and the low fuel light activates as if it had a standard 26 gallon tank. This problem has been ongoing since I purchased the vehicle in early 2017 I have reported it to fca several times and been told a software update would fix it. Each time they say the update will be coming in a few months but it has never happened. This is not a safety issue as far as possible life threatening, but it is a problem that should have been fixed by now.

I had a axel fixed unfortunately they blame it on my used of my vehicle which I take it to the rancho where is mud and rain couple days. They say that I wouldnt be warranty but that they can fix it if I pay off pocket. I asked them if I did I'll be under warranty still they say yes. Comes down that my differential gives out on me. They said that the old idealership I took for the axel had flagged it with a power train restrictions. I asked them what they meant by that they said they took of my warranty. So as we speak truck is getting transfer to another shop to get it fix with Dodge parts. I see online that the differentials on 1500 have a recall in my year.

On random occasions the tail gate will fall open while the vehicle is in operation. I have spoken with other ramm owners and the problem seems to effect the 2017 and 2018 Ram trucks. I have inspected and investigated the potential problem...I do not see an immediate problem, there are several online blogs and discussion threads of this problem. I believe this to be a safety issue that the manufacturer should work to resolve and offer a solution to all owners. I am reluctant to haul item in the bed of my truck due to this defect as the risk of something falling out and potentially injuring another motorist. I did purchase this vehicle used with several miles already on the vehicle, I suppose that the previous owner had the problem but was uncertian of how to resolve the problem.

My truck rolled 6 foot backwards in my driveway. The vehicle had been parked at 9 pm the previous evening and at 10:56 the truck began to roll it took almost a minute and rolled approximately 6 feet in reverse. The truck was in park locked and empty. I have a video from my home security cameras showing this. The response I got back from my dealer said that I should be sure to apply the parking brake.

2017 Ram 1500 tailgate randomly drops. Apparently it is the locking mechanism that fails, when you lock or unlock the vehicle it will randomly cause the manual tailgate latch to open. The tail gate falls driving down the road or after you have parked, it can fall anytime causing bed contents to fall out or possibly striking someone walking behind the vehicle. The dealer claims this is a rare occurrence and of course doesn't stock the part. 2017 is not the only year vehicle this affects according to Ram forums.

Took delivery of new 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 and two days later towed my boat (18') to launch to go fishing. Stopped on ramp leading to water with engine running and put in park to unhook boat from trailer. When I let me foot off brake, the vehicle started slowly creeping backwards to the water. I was stunned and hit brake again and then applied emergency brake. I have done this at least a hundred times with other vehicles and never has one not held in place on the ramp and I have never used my emergency brake. Upon completion of unhooking boat, I then could not figure out how to release emergency brake as it is not marked well. Got out of vehicle and noticed a symbol on the plastic above the foot pedal. Lifted up and it released the emergency brake and again vehicle started backing up into the water. I had to immediately jump in the truck and hit the brakes just in time as it hit the water. I have reviewed this issue and it appears to be focused on 2013 - 2016 model years. However, this is a brand new 2017. I can attest that the knob was 100% in the park position when this happened and my father and son witnessed this event. I have an appointment tomorrow at dealership but service manager was not aware of any issues or potential fix. I am guessing we could duplicate the problem on the boat ramp in the future. This is incredibly dangerous and I cannot have a vehicle that cannot stay in place while parked!

I do not feel as though the gear knob is safe. I thought I had turned the knob to park & opened my door to get out & the truck was in reverse. Gear shift sticks are much more accurate. I would suggest getting rid of the knob, or, having some sort of safety mechanism that would not allow the vehicle to move if the door opens, or something similar. Had I not realized that I was not in park soon enough, I could have ran myself over or hit something.

Dissapointed with the purchase of 17 Ram 1500, truck looks good and has great looks. It has a tapping/ticking noise when its at idle at a standstill, its called the dreaded hemi tick, I have a 5.7 motor with mds, there is many threads and complaints about this on the internet. My truck only has 500 miles and should not have any kind of tapping/ticking noises coming from the engine, mostly noticed from drivers side from the wheel well. The dealer says its normal and that they cant hear it when I bring it in, I should drive and wait for first service to have checked out.second issue is that the pressure flaps in the rear of the cab are always making noise when driving, you can hear them flapping when you brake or when you take off. I want my money back.
