32 gallon optional fuel tank installed. Dash board fuel gauge indicator shows E for empty and zero miles to empty on digital display. Filled 32 gallon tank and it only took 25.7 gallons. I looked under the truck and confirmed I have a 32 gallon tank. Reported to Chrysler 1-800-763-8422 in may of 2016 but I could not deal with the issue until October 2016. I took truck to local Chrysler dealer in (joe machens) columbia, mo mid October 2016. They found nothing wrong. Chrysler stated they are aware of the issue but have no fix as of 11/21/2016. Very poor communications coming back to me from Chrysler enhanced customer service. I have spoke with kaitlyn, kenya and veronica over the past month about this issue with no time frame when Chrysler will have it resolved. Last person I spoke with ryan at 1-800-763-8422 extension 40614. He stated would call me back within 24 hours with answers. That was two weeks ago. I am getting the run around. I have a strong feeling they are not going to resolve this issue. Two case numbers have been issued by Chrysler to me. Ref # 29319235 which they closed. Also 30324341 which should currently be open. Thank you for any pressure you can place on Chrysler to have this issue resolved sooner versus never.
Takata inflator failed when in a front end crash due to a drunk driver at 45mph. Drunk driver hit car in front of me and I swerved to the left and T-boned drunk driver on passenger side door causing him to spin around and slam into driver side of bed. With this kind of impact air bags should have deployed and fuel cut off should have engaged, but nothing happened.
I purchased my 2015 Ram 1500 outdoorsman back in December. I have been having nothing but issues with it not even 5 minutes after the truck was delivered to my house and I signed the papers, my salesman had just left my house I go out to start it and would not start. The truck kept trying to turn over but was not getting fuel to the engine. The truck went back to the dealer they replaced the tipm, I I was told not to worry it is a common issue. I bring the truck home from the dealer that day I am not having any issues I think the truck is back to normal until the next day. The very next day I have the same exact issue the truck is trying to turn over and start but starving for fuel. After 15 minutes of trying to get it to start it finally starts normal and I take it right back to the dealer. This time it has a check engine light which said it had a bad (fuel pump control module). The tech informed me this is a new part for late model 15's and going to be placed in all of the 16 model Ram and that he ordered me a new one. I received a call 2 days later my Ram was ready to be picked up. This is at about 170 miles on the truck. Now after I pick it up from the fuel pump control module being replaced, the truck is running perfect. Just when I am just starting to get comfortable that the issue is fixed, around 2500 miles I am driving the truck I get stuck in heavy traffic. I am at a stand still for about 20 minutes the truck begins to sputter, shake, and my RPM's are very low and it is misfiring. I am trying to get over to the side of the road and the truck would not go over 5 miles a hour. As I get off the road it shuts off and will not start. Sounds the exact same as the first 2 times. I take it to the dealer again for a 3rd time and it has misfire, and fuel control module codes again. Now they are replacing the PCM in my truck, hope this is it.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the fuel level was not receiving the correct mpg. The contact noticed that the vehicle retained less than 14 mpg versus 17 mpg and 22 mpg on the highway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer over three times and they were not able to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,300. New truck. Left dealer and drive approximately 100 miles. Stopped at a gas station to top it off. Pump shut off when it was full. Squeezed the pump nozzle again, like I have always done to round out the dollar amount, and fuel gurgled out of the filler neck and ran down the side of the truck. Several people have stated that this has happened to them also on various year Ram and they just got used to not squeezing the nozzle a second time. This truck is equipped with the 32 gallon gas tank. I never had this problem on my 2012 Ram with the 22 gallon tank.

The truck shuts off while driving, and must be manually guided to safety so that the vehicle can be restarted. This occurred three times on this date and was taken to the dealership the next day. The truck did shut off for them as well during their testing. The truck is still at the dealership and they have no explanation as to the cause of the truck turning off while driving.
